  • Hey loves, noticed you liked the first Diatary Aide video so I did a part 2. The only thing I didn’t record was how we do the line but I’ll be back with a final part 3 show how we get ready for the line and what to expect when you become a dietary aide. Hope you enjoy this video of how to prep the trays, do the drinks and specials list and some of the desserts we have.

    I’m a dietary aide, let me tell you girl it can be exhausting but the only reason why I’m doing the job is because my major is dietetics so it would look good in my portfolio for the dietetics program in my school.

    hey my love I just wanna thank you for these. I have been a server for 10+ years and have been looking for other options and a more steady income. I have an interview next week as a dietary aide and had almost 0 clue what all it entailed .. now I'm not nervous at all. besides the interview part 😂 always such an awkward experience...

    I work at a small county hospital where our counts average no more then 15 in a week. But glad a lot of our prep i done ahead of time. Tickets are printed as they come in. Just glad we don't have to write so much down.

      No you don’t. Sometime they might ask you to make a cake batter so they can bake it or ask you to help with the cooking but for the most part no

    This certainly looks like a job I can do. I do quite some cooking in my home and I don't mind helping patients meet their dietary needs.

    I have an interview Tuesday I’m nervous!! And do you have to write a lot of stuff down? Is it hard to read the chart?

      How did the interview go hun? the main thing you should be writing down is the patients order, And no it wont be hard to read the chart. It might look weird at first but after the 10th patient you will be fine and can read the chart

      Yes . They did it on me when I got hired and never again and I was working there for a year

      Mouthwash through out the day and before you go to sleep and when you wake up gargle with peroxide. You can mix the mouhwash and peroxide if you want. That’s will work if it’s a oral test. If it’s with pee then you might have to drink a lot of water through out the rest of the day and tomorrow until the appointment

    They told me short nails today. But if I got acrylic short nails with a natural color .. do you think that will be fine? Or they might say something??

    I want to know about the dress code,are you allowed to wear scrubs or you have to wear that

      That’s what they gave us to wear. And we had to wear black bottoms with nonslip shoes. But your facility might be different when it comes to the shirt

    Heyyy I don’t know if you reply back to late comments lol srry but is a Covid-19 Vaccination required to work as a Dietary Aide or no? 🥺

      Hey love, of course I will reply. So when I worked their I did not have the vaccine and that was okay. They required us to get tested every 2 weeks and the job did it for us. Maybe things has changed now but from what I know no, just bi weekly tests

    I have orientation for a dietary aide the 13th and 14th of January. Why is orientation so long the 13th it’s from 8-4:30 and the 14th it’s from 10:30-4:30? Also on the 14th we go to the dietary aide section. Did you guys for orientation did any training or you did only training the first day?? Thanks!

      Omg, my facility was literal shit. I went it for and interview and they had me walk on the floor that same day and had me shadow someone for no pay. Then said I had the job

      @@AshlieGray that’s crazy insane. They asked me to start earlier.. but I said no., one they said I would just start working without orientation and two I had important doctors appointments,. So told them I’ll just start when my orientation comes.

      @@Nativedoll222 I thought it was just my facility 🤦🏽‍♀️. Orientation isn’t bad though. They just just being showing you the basic of what you will do and have you sign up how you want your checks . Honestly I wouldn’t be a dietary aid again. 1 the pay is bad and 2 they really don’t care about that much. I don’t mind making money but after a while they expected me to come in everyday And even work other people shift .

      @@AshlieGray I signed for part time. But the job training is full time for a month so u can get use to everything. I’m gonna be getting paid $15.68 a hour. What exactly did y’all do for orientation so I know what to expect????

      As far as hair as long as you have a hair net on your fine. They did not care about tattoos but you have the choose to wear something under your uniform if you decide to cover yours up. As far as piercing I only had my ears pierced but others had there lips and suck some but it doesn’t matter anymore because no one can see it due to the masks. Another thing would be nails. For your safety as long as you can function and do what is needed of you then they shouldn’t have any problems. And keep in mind that you have to wear gloves. I think that should be it but if I missed anything just let me know

      You have no reason to be nervous lol. People are always so nervous for a job and 1 week after being there we all get use to thing and relax. You’ll be fine and you’ll understand/catch on fast

      Sadly I don’t work there anymore but when I was there during COVID. The patients we housed went down which led to our hours being cut down bad.

      I take my break time when ever but when you start they give you a paper stating when you should take your break.

      Rosie T both. They hav vending machine / a little market where you can get cereal, noodles, chips candy, burgers but you have to pay for it. Usually I just bring my own lunch and breakfast to avoid having to get something that won’t fill me up

    Has departments with wash bowls? I want work dietary ...i am good lady I work 6years 7 months I never call off..i am Thail people ..daily I work laundry and work fast. My language is ok you think they will hire me?

      As long as you can say the order or under when they ask you to help with something you will be fine. I worked with someone whose English wasn’t the best but she caught on easily since it was the same thing everyday

    Do dietary aids deliver food to the patients rooms ? Or to a table they all eat at? Please answer

      You might have to Ik my facility use to do it but we stopped due to the patient not getting medicine on time. If we have patience request to eat in the dining hall then yes I would bring the food to them( that stopped due to the pandemic though) and you might have to bring food up for a patient and deliver it to the room if they request to have something extra when the line is done.

      Of course. ( never limit yourself or worry about if a job is right for you due to anxiety. Sometime that breakthrough is what you need) the job is really laid back. You might have to talk to patients depending on where you work though. As long as you are willing to grow and eventually mingle a little you will do just fine

      You should not have to talk to anyone. You might have to speak to a patient occasionally to ask what they want to eat or take a order if not already done .

      truthfully I just applied with the correct mindset and attitude. I didn't know what I was walking into when I apply. after starting it was pretty much the same as working at a fast food joint just at a slower pace

      KARINA AMOR Amor i know this was a month ago 🤣🤣 but the hospital I work at it’s 12 hour Shift and we get paid above minimum wage . Florida minimum wage is 8.50 and we get paid hire than that at the hospital so it depends on your state and if you work in a hospital or different setting

    I just WANT to know how much is Pay per hr. I think i would love that job. Its rewarding .i make 14/hr rn. But Dang not so much rewarding

      I don’t plan the meals at all . The dietitian along with the head chef of the kitchen takes care of that

      You definitely should I never had to cook as an aide . The most I had to do was decorate cakes or got fruit bowls ready
