RESIDENT EVIL 4 REMAKE Full Game Walkthrough: czcams.com/video/D-ZtNbCUtd0/video.html
Have a great day, Shirrako!
It makes sense that Leon doesn't make the connection between Mendez being superhuman and being "one of the bugs" right away. This is the guy who spent much of RE2 being chased by Mr X. Odds are, until the transformation, Leon thought he was dealing with a talking Tyrant.
@Emilio Andrés Montiel Leo my question is how come Albert Wesker didn't become a tyrant when have been injected with the Prototype virus
@demochris1 tyrants are all lab born from a single stock that wesker later killed that specific dude. Best way to phrase it is wesker himself is BOW from the start.
@@zacharyhawley1693 yeah, Wesker is a bio-enginered human born from an experiment to make the next evolutive step of human race, when he got injected with the virus It maxed his original stat making him superhuman
@@demochris1786 it should be noted that Prototype Virus does not turn you into a Tyrant
That's a T-Virus and it's later offshoot viruses derived from it thing
The Prototype Virus however simply gives you superhuman strength if you're compatible with it though
That and he might not have known some of the bugs kept their intelligence to this degree yet.
I like how Mendez leads the Ganados and casually takes several gunshots to the body, but it’s only after he transformed Leon says “Should have known you were one of the bugs.”
Maybe he thought he had Wesker virus
Probably thought he was an unrelated virus or bioweapon. I don’t think Leon knew about Dominant Strains and them keeping their minds yet.
@@nevermore7285 Fair enough.
@@nevermore7285 Yea, he's seen the Mr. X variants.
Did it do a timelapse after he sealed 🤔the door? Cuz obviously they weren't in the shed. 😒
Glad to see Mendez speaking more than the original RE4
i love how RE4 make more changes in comparaison to his original counterpart: Mendez speaking, Salazar's transformation, Krauser kick you when you're hanging on a cliff and not stomping your hand
He didn't speak at all in the original right?
I think he only said one line in the og
Unfortunately Mendez and Saddler are much more intimidating for me in the original
@@katakurifan5213 nah in OG they are so Easy to fight while the remake they already make the fight way more epic & more challenging
@@katakurifan5213 I can see it, sometimes no words have to be said
Mendez looks like an aged Tyrant.
I’m just super glad they kept his mutate design the same
And gain another pair of limbs for the 2nd phase
@@senpie6639 that was a plus
Shame they cut out his transformation.
@@medalgear654 most of the current RE games tho
@@senpie6639 total shame cause they were one of the highlights of the old games. At least they had a reason for cutting in between transformations; I don't see why they have skipped the whole thing lately.
Bitores Mendez: "Ganados all over the shop... You'll be one of them, sooner or later."
I knew I couldn't have been the only one that immediately thought of Father Gascoigne.
All the parasite, it preaches to me. It's enough to make a man religiously sick
"What's that smell? The sweet plagas, oh they sing to me. It's enough to make a man sick."
He looks like father Gascogne, but sounds like the beast who disguises himself as the helpless man
Mendez with that sick Bloodborne cosplay

Fun fact: When you defeat him in the remake you get an award called 'grilled big cheese'.
RE7: Jack Baker
RE8: Lady D
RE2R: Mr X
RE3R: Nemesis
RE4R: MENDEZ
Mendez doesn’t stalk you though in this game wtf are you talking about
@@greatestnitemare6626 i would have been fcking annoyed if he would be a stalker enemy specially because we have enough of them at this point
@@realnickhiro I keep wondering why do people still called the t00/t103 mr. X like did it come from a novel or something? Cuz I don't remember no novel of Resident Evil I was too young to remember that
The whole theme of this game being "Leon survived a whole lot of bad shit, and while it's made him stronger as a soldier, it's hindered him as a person" and him struggling with bad memories and PTSD was top notch. Ik people like gigachad OG RE4 Leon but this version was so much more nuanced.
Mendez looking so similar to Mr. X is definitely deliberate. Idk if they intended it(I'm p sure they did tho), but that reaction Leon had stabbing Mendez when he grabbed Ashley very much felt like less of a "I have to protect the president's daughter" thing, and more of a primal, instinctual "please not this again" thing because of everything from Raccoon City
He’s the Mr. X of Resident Evil 4
No
Close enough, but they sure bear the resemblances alright!
I didn't think of that once until the chase part where I immediately shot his hat off like you could with Mr X in RE2, there was even an achievement for it
@@SolemnVisitor Wonder what will happen if you shoot him with a rocket launcher at his human form... hmmm?
Always thought that Mendez was very similar to Tyrants.
I love how every single time Mendez appears in the game he just whoops Leon's ass lmao
That’s the template bro lol
"i'm good"
"then run"
yeah, ashley needs to be told to do anything😂
I don't think you guys understand the level of chills I got when I saw Leon do a backflip for the first time when you dodge Mendez, Along with the Krauser fight and the dodges. Shits so smooth and fluid 😫
why would anyone else care to understand
Bitores Mendez with hat, makes me think in the Father Gascoigne of Bloodborne.
Something even more creepy and scarier with a Calm Mendez this time around. The Hat totally seals the deal on his new design and facial features.
Can't say that he's scarier here but to each their own
Scarier? Dude literally looks like that hugging bear for toy story 3 in the thumbnail 😂
@EM Lol. I'll tell you what is scary though the Garrador
He's not scary to me, but one thing I find annoying is that he doesn't have a transformation sequence like in the original.
Idk why but I like this version of chief Mendez more than in the original.
This game looks sooo cleannnnn, have my alarm set for midnight so I can get some rest before I start playing this.. can’t wait!
Bro I've been playing this all day lmao
Did you get it?
Mendez gain a few Appendages in the form of Crustacean Pincers, allowing him to throw burning woods from areas. Quite interesting.
And annoying lol
@@katakurifan5213skill issue
@@madmonty4761 it's a bs fight lol, atleast the original had the ability to dodge, this shitty fight is just run around and hope it doesn't hit, totally ruined the fight.
@@pivot1022 ahh i see you are one of the ReMAke bad people so your opinion goes into the 🗑
I take it he killed you once or twice then 😂😂
Love those scorpion claws that they added to his second form
Didn’t he have those in the original? I remember him holding onto the beams in the arena to hop around with the arms on his back
@@rdc4461 No he didn’t have them in the original
Why do I feel like that cutscene where he gets the claws is a subtle Scorpion King reference?
Seeing Mendez just shrug off those shots reminds me a lot of Mr.X. I like to think that Mendez is RE4s version of a tyrant even tho he isn’t
His attacking animation is very similiar when not in bug mode
I mean, I always thought that Mendez *was* a Tyrant, but now he can talk apparently.
well idk both mr x and menendez wears a trench coat and a fedora, is big and is a bullet sponge soo yeah
@@SSD_Penumbra who told you that tyrants can't speak?
@@Sunny-kz1xv Literally every Resident Evil piece of media.
I get it that they made it so that picking up every item doesn't result in an item display screen, but I sure do miss that ominous screen you get when you pick up a key item. It was great with the creepy music because it really made you feel like having and using this key item is going to come with some consequences. Just to remind you that the game will get more challenging
Agreed this game in some ways is less tense than the original just like how Saddler and Mendez no longer give that creepy vibe.
@@katakurifan5213 I'm just about to get to the castle, and it's definitely not as scary as the original. This game is somewhere between the original RE4 and RE5 in terms of scariness and tension. One of the scariest moments for me in the original game was when you have to get through the village with Ashley at night. Something about it being dark and rainy that you can't even tell where the enemies are coming from, but that was completely absent here. Lot more pleasureable experience. I'm the type of guy who doesn't like scary games much, so to me this is better lol
Bro, stop the cap. Re4 was never scary or tense. In fact, most Re fans point at the RE4 being the title that turned the franchise from scary horror to 90s hero action pack. It's how the franchise lost its horror touch before Re7
It got really annoying after a while though. Like constantly flashing the damn item in your face after every single time just gets tiring.
@@mysteryace2129 4 may not be as scary as the first 3. But it is scarier than the remake.
I’ve died a couple of times here when he kept throwing the woods while I was reloading. When I was done with him, my health bar was close to zero
Kind of cool to think it's the guy that played Shang Tsung in the MK movies that voices Menedez in the remake.
That's Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa?
Youre right my bad I never would have guessed. I got the OG actor mixed up
@@pyronable yep, check his IMDB page, look at upcoming and you'll see it right there.
Shame we can't clearly see the process of transformation
Very good boss fight. Most changes are for the better. But the original Mendez kinda felt more intimidating. His slow walk in his transformed state and the more claustrophobic warehouse clicked more for me. Still a great overhauled boss fight though
Also, I think the setting is better in the original.
This boss fight looks like it's in a food storage building. The original took place in a building made to torture nonbelievers. It's aesthetically more powerful and honestly, kind of weird they didn't do that for the remake again.
His transformation scene reminds me of RE3 remake when Carlos shoots the car unmasking the Nemesis behind a wall of flame.
He didn’t shoot the car the fuel tank blew up
I loved this fight. My only complaint is that the boss music from the OG version was sooo scary. Still, this remake is amazing so far.
Play it in hard. It’s a cheap pile of sh** fight.
@@fabjtown1bait
I stopped playing and bought the old music pack before this fight to have the original soundtrack, seriously one of the best boss themes ever

he looks like mr x with beard😂
The music during this fight is INSANE
Yep, there are parts of the original theme.
Mendez has some new attacks such as spinning arms and throwing wooden plank and explosive barrel 😨. Took few tries to learn his new moveset and i didn't know that you can still climb the ladder after second phase begin.
The eyeball on his back makes everything
Mendez went from a barely talkative sentinel to a memorable villain for the remake! NICE!
I mean, the fact that he stays silent, also makes him memorable and threatening to me.
That beginning part had me so excited to fight him in his normal form and then mutate later sadly it was only an escape section.
I wish there was more stallker escaping with mendez.
This fight in VR was so stressful yet so good!
That chase part scared the shit out of me tbh, got mad re2 flashbacks
Capcom : this time Ashley won’t be a burden
Ashley minute 1:29
Me encanta el "hasta luego"
I had a hard time to evade those burning logs. How do we even evade that?
in this new theme by Bitores Mendez you can hear a little of the original theme music of the fight against him
yeah, i noticed that too
The way his eye just drops out at the end is funny.
Unfortunately, offscreen transformations are one of the prices we pay for the graphical upgrade. From what I’ve read, that kind of thing is simply too demanding on the hardware.
that is just bullshit, if they could do it on the gamecube they can do it on newer consoles. could be a flaw with the engine or something still weird.
Its not just the transformations. Almost all of the cutscenes are completely lackluster compared to the OG. At least so far up to this point (only made it to the castle). El gigantie has that epic suspenseful build up to the villagers bringing him out, only for him to completely destroy them. big cheese has his epic transformation, sharp claws and blood all over. Even minor cutscenes seem forced or too fast with little substance.
But as usual, the typical dumb reply to any criticism with RE4 is the lame "just go play the OG". Why? We have a new game with new mechanics that should surpass the OG. We paid money, we should've gotten a better product. Gamecube handled real time transformations. Guess we're going backwards in technology.
@@3DTwinkies I feel like it's an issue of art direction more than technology. For the most part I love how this remake handles the OG set-pieces but man, something about the Chief Mendez fight in the original is so tense in the way it was structured (the music in particular adds so much to the fight), and the remake in comparison tries to be too epic both with the pumping orchestra music and Mendez talking non-stop which detracts from the overall experience and makes it wayy less memorable than its 2005 counterpart.
The team behind the remake HAS the capacity to create some tense boss fights (just look at the first Birkin fight in RE2 remake) but they wanted to go in a different direction which may work for some people but imo it was ehhh
Also, the fact that Mendez's false eye isn't a key item anymore makes the fight feel a bit pointless lol
@@speeedra then what is the point of the eye?
**Takes off beard and reveals himself as Mr. X**
Leon: *insert re2 PTSD here*
Mr X for RE 2

I don’t think they will make re5 remake. And there was no tyrant like boss in re5
GOD , I THANK FOR YOU GIFT !!!! .... that line was so fucking disturbed man, I love this remake !!!!
FAX💯 They made the Ganados VERY Zealous/ritualistic in this game😳
Exquisite brother !!!!!! EXQUISITE
Hope someone mods the game to have mendez chase you around the village like Mr X felt like that section of him walking after you was waaay too short I needed more of that!
I have played the original RE4 front to back more times than I can count and I know every moment like the back of my hand, and yet this is stressing me the hell out.
"God i thank you for your gift." Sick line 🔥🔥🔥
Mendez is like lady dimitrescu in that they can't take damage until thier final form is shown.

only dissepointing thing i have to say is boss transformation.. for some reason they don't show any boss animation 🤷♂️ until Sadler and Krauser.. (just a little critic)
Hey at least he got more Voice lines out of that price.
Boss health seems low, he only lasted 2 minutes. But it could just be Shirrako playing on easy to get content out faster
@@darenh355 can confirm, playing on hardcore (new zeland) and it took me much more bullets than this to bring him to the second form
Throwback to Nemesis, Mr X, Dimitrescue chase
True definition of remake 🙌🙌🙌
1:12 Chief Mendez here looks like Mr. X from Resident Evil 2, given that he's just following them and will suddenly attack Leon.
Since I played Re4 I always wondered what would of happened if Mendez killed Leon on his final form, going back to the village and living with the ganados looking like that ?
When getting chased can you incapacitate Mendez like Mr.X?
Mendez Gon give it to Ya!.
I liked this new design of Mendez. Reminds me of me…
and they gave him more voice lines unlike the original
with beard lol Mr X u are a Old man.
He has the same desing, the only new things are his necklace and hat.
Design-wise this guy is insane. Love his coat and hat lol
He sounds like black ops zombies
Like how he looked exactly like MR X
The changes to Mendez are awesome and there is just something about a simple boss like character that appeals to me
Mendez
Mr X
and jack
First time you see them they aren't flashy
They aren't stringing you up to suck your blood or mutating into a giant blob of flesh
Just big dudes looking to punch the crap outta ya
Under taker finally in game
I forgot to grab the eye and I dipped out now I can’t go back
At first I thought Mendez was a tyrant and I was literally about to cry
He feels like one to me
Bitore Mendez. We meeting again.
He is not mendez, He is Undertaker of resident evil 4...

Leon: "Ashley go hide"
Thats what im missing..
Whats happens if you try to kill him with the handcannor or rocket launcher before he goes badass?
1:35 Leon: “shoots villager”
Villager: “aaaaaah”
Mendez is little bit like mr X when he is chasing you
Bitores Mendez is like Jason Voorhees, can withstand bullets
I kinda miss how visible the transformations were, in the OG his back burst and stretched and it felt oddly more freaky
Don't get me wrong he looks fuckin cool but weirdly lacking
Ngl I kinda miss “you better stay outside, Ashley..go hide”
Why did they remove the transformation scene? It was one of the coolest and creepiest moments from the game...
Agreed. Its really lackluster. All of the cutscenes thus far have been...rather terrible.
@@3DTwinkies Well, good to know you're wrong.
@@3DTwinkies ah yes, another person that tooks drugs before commenting lmao
I think it is because he takes his transformation as a miracle from God to fight Leon, so he takes it more calmly. Whereas in the original, he takes it more aggressively. It fits with both personalities shown in both versions (he was aggressive in the original, whereas in the remake he's more soft and calm).
Are you mad ?
This is remake ,just keeping all stufs will feel like old game
Thats why they changes
His transformed design reminds me of the thing
No double rematch us mr. Chesse!

I’m loving it
finally the big cheese himself in 4k
If you look around his house and read his journals you get the feeling that Mendez was a cool guy before he turned into a centipede.
Leon must've gotten a PTSD to see another tall man in black trench coat and a fancy hat
Can't see anything in the light, need to reconfigure your upload settings and change your contrast
Mendez Gon’ give it to ya
I forgot to take his false eye when I killed him would that affect the game somehow? I know in the original RE4 you have to open a door with his eye, how about in the remake?
in remake is a treasure, not a key anymore.
Badass Mendez
Looks like Colin Farrell
That man turned himself into a crab😂
There is no way this guy didn't give leon ptsd and trauma from re2, I think it was his most feared enemy honestly, he doesn't even give a sh*t about salazar or saddler or even verdugo and etc and just shoots and insults them, but with medez one you can actually see a sense of fear.
I didn't know he had a name and I kept thinking that his name was Big Cheese.
"Your soul......requires......cleansing...." Ngl I lowkey shit myself when he said that before bending the bars. They made him so much more menacing than the OG version.
I remember this guy been more resistent
