    "People can change, right?" That's actually a very powerful line considering what's going on. Luis was one of the bad guys since he helped the cult with experimenting Las Plagues and Krauser was one of the good guys who trained and fought beside Leon. Now, Krauser wants power because of what happened to his men and Luis became disgusted by what the cult's true agenda was and wants them stopped. So, good guy turned bad and bad guy turned good.

      OJ was also a top secret 2 men mission not an entire platoon base RE Darkside chronicles game. Hope they don't "Cut" Manuela who retain her humanity despite given the T-Veronica virus and have some Pyro kinetic power saving Leon and Krauser against the "final boss."

  • @solidusgoku8719
    @solidusgoku8719 Před rokem +580

    Luis and especially Krauser were done so much justice.
    Originally, Luis felt like an out of nowhere researcher who felt bad about helping with Las Plagas, and decided to help Leon and Ashley. It was hinted he was from the village, but that was about it.
    But in the Remake, Luis’s motivations have far more weight. His guilt and desire to make sure there are no more victims means a lot more when you realize that he grew up in the very village where all the innocent people he was familiar with were turned into mindless slaves of Saddler. This isn’t Luis’s consciousness kicking in out of nowhere. It’s the little boy obsessed with the legend of Don Quixote, far too curious for his own good, feeling genuine regret that he’s to blame for the deaths of his friends and family.
    And Krauser, man.
    In the original storyline, Krauser got his arm screwed up in Operation Javier, and became jealous of the BOWs’ unadulterated power and regenerative abilities, and wanted a taste of it since he would be honorably discharged due to his injuries after the operation. This led to him joining forces with Wesker and infiltrating Los Illuminados.
    But here? Whatever mess happened in Operation Javier resulted in Krauser’s unit getting wiped out by some black ops shit, which fucked him up. He was jealous of the BOWs not because he hated being discharged, but because he wished he had that power to protect his men from getting gunned down by Uncle Sam’s cleanup crew. He even tried getting the story out publicly according to one of the files you find, but that led to the reporter getting “silenced.” Actual CIA shit right there.
    He didn’t join Los Illuminados (Remake Krauser had nothing to do with Wesker) because of some desire for power to stay a soldier. He was a once honorable soldier who felt true guilt over the death of his men, which tipped him over the edge. His end goal wasn’t “absolute power” like he claimed. What he really wanted was an end to his misery and suffering, whether it be via assimilation into Las Plagas hivemind after the fall of the US government, or in a man-to-man fight to the death of ideals and resolve against his own student.
    I wanted to kill Krauser pretty badly after he killed Luis, but Las Plagas be damned if I didn’t feel sympathy hearing how much the government fucked him over.
    Honestly, I really like the changes done to most of the characters, the only exceptions for me being Salazar (I liked his goofy bratty personality of the original) and Ada (she doesn’t have that femme fatale feel to her). Still a fantastic remake though.

    • @BabyGirlTiny
      @BabyGirlTiny Před rokem +13

      The remake Luis don’t make any sense when you remember that he refused to help Leon when they were chained up. there wasn’t even any development to where he would change his mind to help.
      For Krauser, it seems like everyone forget what actually happened in operation Javier so they made up what they wanted for it. They also changed who wesker was working for. Because in the OG he worked for wesker. In the remake he’s a dimly working for saddler for whatever reason.

    • @LeanneKrv
      @LeanneKrv Před rokem +56

      @@BabyGirlTiny If I remember correctly he didn't know Leon was infected at that time, so there's no reason for Luis to help him out. He conducted illegal researching and stole the sample for Ada too, stumbling upon a government agent is definitely the last thing he wanted to happen. Only after he found out that Leon and Ashley were indeed infected did he actively helped. In Krauser case, I agree with you 100%. They definitely changed his backstory 180 degree from the original. I feel like they implemented Chris's and Jason's story into Krauser's to make him more human and likeable, and it worked. I have to say I really like the changes. But yeah, I don't really see the motive behind him working with Saddler. Either he really wanted that vengeance against the government or is it purely to gain power or both.

      The mission has been changed though, it's not the one you played in DC because the details in RE4 Remake were changed.

    Watch the way Leon's lips tremble slightly after stabbing Krauser. It's such an incredibly subtle bit of body language showing how emotionally shaken he is by what he just did.

    I really like how they gave Krauser internal conflict. Part of him regrets his decision to align with bioterrorism. He saw Leon as the better version of himself when he said "Show me what you've got that I don't." Rather than saying he plans to kill Leon outright. When he lost and he saw he did after all, make the wrong decision, he humbly accepted his defeat and death, stating he was proud of Leon and the fact he played a role in Leon's growth.

    Got chills when Krauser said “I trained you well, Leon” showing that even though Krauser turned to the cult and turned his back to his morals and beliefs he still felt respect for Leon and right before he died he addressed him by his name, not by “rookie” as Leon had bested him.

    Their original showdown is something I love as it gave a feel of those 80s action hero movie (Commando). But this one does feel very great too. I mean yeah, They kill Luis a bit late on this one but his death also make a very impact introduction for Krauser too. Kinda neat , Really. Also love "Knife is faster" Mentor to Pupil talk there. Its like the scene from Jormungand manga.

    I really love how they expanded the fight and scenes with Krauser more in the remake than in the original because in the original you just kill him and just go meanwhile they put the small details of Krauser calling Leon rookie the whole time but calling him Leon at the end as well as Leon finishing Krauser off with the knife. They really did my boy some justice here.
