On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8. - Hry

Your contributions to the community are admirable GS. Thank you as always for the great content!
Least I can do, hope to get a lot more passionate people in here and see the flight sim community grow.
Two videos in the same day AND helping new people AND A PROMO CODE? Didn't know such goodness was possible
The Canadian in him is showing
GS stands for Goodguy Sidewinder
quit bootlicking haha
@@-Hesco quit being a dick haha
@@-Hesco that's not bootlicking he's praising GS for something that needs praise
The nosewheel steering in the F16 is pretty strong I usually turn off NWS before takeoff so I can be more aggressive with my rudder. I had a lot of trouble taking off until I started doing this and it's something I recommend trying if you find you're making rudder adjustments that are too much.
Ya I think 170 knots you’re good to turn it off if you like
@@GrowlingSidewinder if you only want to look up by radar, its necessary to change antena elevation or its enougt to point nose of plane up?
@@MaciejRM the radar dish does not follow the nose of the plane, you need to bind it.
@@MaciejRM The radar dish as Steve said does not follow your pitch angle, it will look at the same altitude it is set at, you need to elevate it up and down. There's a mode in the radar that does something similar to what you said, it's the BORE mode in ACM mode, it can also follow your helmet not only the nose of the aircraft. It's all probably covered in the Radar Tutorial video.
@Growling Sidewinder I just like watching you mate!
Finally tried to get into DCS with this video. Didn't shoot anyone down on my first time up, but I am happy to report that I was able to successfully able to defend 2 missiles before getting killed, so ill take that as a win. Great video, got in the air so much easier than I thought I would.
congratulations, that's an awesome first step. I think you will have a fun/rewarding experience in DCS. You're already off to a great start.
Same for me but I figured out how to jettison my canopy instead of that
@@rowdyace5719 what a perfect distraction, they never saw that coming
You are a decent guy, not many would take the time to do this. You deserve all the success, I watch everyday!
I'm new to your channel and was hoping for a tutorial.
Thank you.
Please don't be shy to make more videos like this and show what other buttons and levers do on the F16.
It's ok if you remember at all how to start the F-16. You can search videos that explain the most important things on a Viper's cockpit and how to start it up. The only things you need to remember are the tactics and what to do once in the air. Good luck!
now we just need to see an F-14 tutorial like this! thanks for all the help you already provide!
I think GS the most intimidating aspect for me with DCS has been trying to set up Keys. There is so many with so many options . . As a learner its hard to know where to start as far as intial button selections on set up. Many thanks for your encouraging video .
My pleasure plenty more videos like this to come in the future, because I absolutely agree that’s the scariest part of DCS. Thanks for watching
@@GrowlingSidewinder That would be perfect to make a video explaining and showing what keys should be attached to what and would help me so much! However, you probably have already addressed this but I hope that you could make a video exactly like this but for the F-18 because thats the module I bought. Thanks!
Just getting into dcs, this is by far the best video I’ve seen for beginners, thank you so much!
Well with that 60% off I think even my wife will join DCS. Thanks for that sir.
Great to see you doing a tutorial series! The @GrowlingSidewinder channel is probably the biggest contributor that pushed me to learn and play DCS.
My dude! This is hero level work! Thank you GS! It’s a true service to bringing new blood into the sim, and to all new comers, Welcome aboard!
Hey buddy love your content! Would love to see more walk throughs on more advanced things like for example what people need to bind for multi locking targets and maybe a walk through what you have bound for each thing on your own HOTAS. And to maybe go over what new sounds/ icons with radar and anything thats been new with updates.
Nice!
You, sir, are a natural born instructor. Kudos, G.S.!
I love that you're sitting on a shag rug in the cockpit of an F-16. For some reason, I find that hilarious 😂
Nice, now I need 1000 bucks to buy the equipment, probably without the module 😁. Love your vids, I watch them daily .
Loool thanks, for the record I started with the thrustmaster t16000 cost me like 100$ pretty good bang for the buck there
@@GrowlingSidewinder Same here, still use it and love it.
This video was so helpful. Loved the way you broke it down and explained everything. Please do more videos like this!
These tutorial type videos are amazing. I was overwhelmed getting into DCS and these type of videos helped immensely
So that's why I how messing up my radar! lol Thank you for the mission and explanation!
My pleasure glad you found it useful
fantastic video, you have a real knack for simplifying things enough, but not to much. cheers
I already bought the F16 a fair time ago, but it has always felt so daunting. I've run through the ingame tutorials and all, but it's so much information and sometimes some of it didn't even work.
But I will try this mission after having seen this video. Might watch this video multiple times.
Thank you GS!
My pleasure glad to be of service.
Thanks to Videos like yours I Can enjoy the jets, I'm watching on Bose LifeStyle 650 with Oled TV . No words to describe how good it looks and sounds.
Thank You for the all videos and all that you do, I got a few of my friends to purchase the F-16 just to start with a high-fidelity Aircraft and getting them used to the controls. Keep up the great work.
You absolutely (over time) need to do a series of similar (basic) tutorials for each of the aircraft available in DCS - especially the most widely used. It may well become the 'go to' series for beginners in DCS. I aim to build myself a dedicated simulator someday, and this will be an invaluable start to the learning curve. Keep up the fantastic work. 😊
I can't believe it, I finally grew interest into DCS again and i have the F16, looking to improve on it and one of my favorite DCS CZcamsrs posts a video on it! Thanks so much!
I really like the tutorials and informational vids like this. Keep it up man
Seriously! Thank you for your posted videos and descriptions you gave persons who are beginners. Great job! thumbs up! 👍
Loved that video. Super good quality as always. I love those videos where you explain how everything works. Keep doing such a good job!!
The video i wished i had 5 years ago when i fought to learn it all on my own. Great for growing community. Nicely done.
Just recently got into DCS, your videos really helped. Much love GS, great work
The dcs community is the best, I'm glad to be a part of it!
Thanks for the tutorial GS. Yeah for the systems, I definitely would agree that as long as the binds are mapped and you know how to work the radar, datalink, it all just flows together. Definitely seems pretty straight forward and logical for sure.
Thank you for you content! Always makes my day better and when you upload multiple a day, like today, you just make my day so much better.
Yoo you’ve been talking me through my air combat dumbness for a while now. Thank you GS!
Glad to be of service man.
@@GrowlingSidewinder 🙏
Two GS videos on the same day! Must be my birthday! Oh, it’s is! Thanks GS!
I appreciate you coming to watch both, much love.
Thank you so much for showing us about DCS.
Thanks, GS! DCS gives me all the immersion I can handle and I love it! I have found that the most time consuming and frustrating part for a beginner in DCS is binding all of the controls you need. It takes time and can get daunting. Do it well, and that binding work pays off with lots of fun flying. DCS is definitely not an instant action arcade level game.
Just what I needed . Thank you so much
Glad to be of service man.
My new to DCS a few months in. Already upgraded to a winwing f16 combo from X52 pro that died after 30+ days. So I'm loving the content to help me learn.
On point! Very well done!
These basic how to parts are so helpful.
I liked this video very much. It would be nice is talented people like you put together a Flight Training School series of videos. One of the things that gets me stuck is what to bind and what not to bind. For example; a lot of stuff that can be done on the ground before flight can mostly be done on the keyboard. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the best binding pairings for newbies. Also, more "Get her up in the air" videos like this one for different models would be nice as well. Also, I like your idea of the training missions, a simple version and a more complex version are great. Start out basic, then level up in the next version. I suppose for training purposes you could use the TF-51 or the Su-25 (as DCS will likely have the last flyable models of this aircraft after about another year- jk). I have been a long time viewer/subscriber of your YT channel and really appreciate your work and admire your skills. BTW, your Felon Vs Mustang vid was hilarious... "Ouch! My tail!" as it goes drifting past your canopy. Anyway, I hope you read these comments and take to heart my request. If so, maybe I'll meet you in the air sometime in a Master vs Amateur battle.
Yoooo another video to make my day better!
Keep it up dude
THANK YOU GS. I just got 430 bucks worth of DCS stuff for 200 and change because I finally was convinced to buy while I could get so much at such a discount.
my pleasure and shoutout to ED for making this possible, very generous of them. hope you enjoy your purchases.
I strive to help new people so much in DCS but you sir, are literally going above and beyond. I will always refer people to your amazing videos. Maybe one day Ill as knowledgeable as you. Good hunting.
Thank you very much, we should all be working together to help the people, so keep it up the community could use more people
Like you.
Man, that was a sick video. Great teacher man. Love the channel and would love to get into this simulator. You do make it look easy though man.
Thank you, Ive needed a video like this.
Thank you so Much for the explaining good knowing that you care about your viewers
Thank you for doing this!
Would like to see more videos of this format. It's quite helpful for newcomers. AH-64 would be my suggestion.
More videos like this buddy. Nice and easy and bite sized content.
I may keep this video in my mind for the future
That was very helpful. THANKYOU.
Upgrading my pc and Boeing military edition next level racing cockpit and VR all to be set up for the first time.
I NEED A MONTH OFF WORK!
I am new to DCS and am using an Xbox Series X controller. Just built my PC maybe a month ago now. This video is really helpful because I planned on buy one aircraft from each era including the P51, and F-16. Thank you for making this video!
I used to play Falcon: Allied Force as a young kid, I think it's time to full send into some F16 shenanigan's again.
Small addition for all newbies, you don't need a high class setup for the f-16, i still fly with a 40€ stick and 40€ throttle from 2010 and can use all mandatory systems in combat, thanks to the power of modifiers. For head tracking i would recommend open track to get started and get a feel for it.
This is great - Thanks.
Thinking I might set the mission weather options to clear sky to see what's going on.
As you wish man.
Thank you so much for this video!
Great video mate, well done.
Thank you
This is a great video. Thank you!
My dude, I've been following you for yearsssss, and I'd still rather watch you do your thing, than watch me go up in smoke. Real talk. 😂😂😂
Thanks GS. great instructional vid.
Nicely done. Really enjoy your channel.
I just built my first pc just so i could play dcs because of how much i enjoyed your videos. it is complicated so this is perfect u doing this vid.
Great stuff. Thank you so much.
Great video. Perhaps you could do a tutorial showing what keys to bind to a joystick? I have a hotas one and a perplexed by what buttons are important to bind. Or maybe explain what keys you have bound and why. Love watching your videos btw. Great joy watching you dogfight.
My man really bouta hit 500k subs, let's gooo
You are awesome and thank you so much for the education and training,
Thanks mate. Bloody awesome. - Down Under.
Great video man. Appreciate it.
Awesome! Thank you for that 😊
I didn’t think I could do it either but l started in the f18 and figured out how to lock targets and boom I was hooked. I now own almost every module and every map and still can’t get enough
Great mission for new & experienced players alike. DCS can be a little daunting but my 11yro has got it’s sused. Just put the time in take small steps & you will love it. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃
Thank you so much. I did it! Flew for the first time, shot down a Mig29 and even landed on my first attempt, though, not very gracefully cause I had no idea how to extend flaps so I came in a bit rough and I think I damaged the right rear landing gear. But I got back to the ground alive despite the strong crosswind. I'll take that as a win 😂😂
I will be saving this for when I FINALLY make get everything I need for DCS. The F-16 is one of the aircraft I hope to master early on.
This video would be awesome for the F-18C too. I have several buddies who own the F-18 and could benefit from a video like this!
Awesome Content as always!
Thanks I just go the f16 yesterday lol the timing
I love this, really shows how if you really want to get into DCS you can. i would love to get into DCS but my internet just says no😅
Thanks a lot, now I will try one more time with DCS, I have kind of given up and went back to my 738-8 in X-Plane 🙂 I watch almost all of your videos and think how cool it must be to be able to fly like you do. My biggest challenge is not to start the plane, it is to activate the various weapons I have loaded, to make them "work".
❤great value, thank you sir!
Really enjoying your content, GS. Best wishes from Australia
Excellent work .
Please continue.... 👍
i just gotta get through this shitty winter and hopefully this summer/autumn i will be picking up a virpil stick and throttle and joining ya'll in the digital skies. i can't wait to fly.
and crash... alot.
Read my mind, sir. You are awesome; much respect to you GS.
Nice! DCS seems less scary now.
Ah the Viper, the gateway drug to DCS. Thanks for giving some insight to how to get the F-16 working for you in combat. I think the Viper is one of the best modules, that can’t land on a carrier and maybe that is its only limitation. I started with the F/A-18 as I am sure many did. But I did move to the Viper and it is still my go to for modern combat scenarios. GS, thanks for you do and for all the great videos.
"Viper...can’t land on a carrier"
Not with that attitude it can't.
I would love to see the p-38 vs. f-35 dogfight. Lightning vs. Lightning II
I've had the F-16 pacakge for a few months now but have hardly used it because I had no idea how to, this is the perfect video! Next one on F-18??
Love this. Would love to see an a10c II version!
I don't think I will ever play DCS myself because of all the hardware I would have to get, I'll settle for watching the videos, but it's still very nice to have an explanation on what's going on and how everything works. For example, I kind of figured out some of the numbers on the HUD (e.g. altitude, mach speed, knots speed) but it's nice to have those laid out explicitly. Or a good look down on all the switches because normally why would you look at them and explain while you're dealing with much more urgent matters.
As a new player I'll take advantage of this code ty
Thanks for tutorials!
How can I get New User Additional discount? I'm a new user but I get only 10% off.
Thank you for showing this. If possible, another video on explaining how to setup the missions would be fantastic as well. I am able to place the aircraft, but don't know how to make them do what I want them to do.
Very slick!
Growling. Keep doing these. We need a larger player base. I swear I’d pay for good simpler tutorials
TWO VIDEOS?! On the SAME DAY?! Growling Sidewinder never disappoints!
Thanks GS!
Thanks. The Falcon is my all time favourite plane ever since I saw Iron Eagle. Although, it should have been called the Shark, because it looks like one. Hehe.
Awesome, I already feel like I could actually take off with Viper... If I had the hardware that could run DCS that is😂
This is absolutely awesome. Any chance for an f18 version of this same video??
