Honestly I think Mike Martz gets a bad rap. Seems people want to make him a villain. He arguablely had more influence on warner than Dick vermeil ever did, Bulger had a pro bowl season while Warner was on the shelf, so any coach would stay with the hot hand while earner missed 24 games in that span. In addition to that Martz never had a losing season, made the playoffs 4 times in five years, and he had the presence of to resign when he knew kronke would eventually move the team, so he was never fired

Walked right past him and his family at the Ohio State Vs Oregon National Championship in Arlington back in 2015. Was in complete shock, could not speak or move. Over the last several years before, and thanks to this incredible doc, I grew to become such a huge fan of Kurt and looked up to him. Ironically, I was about to wear my 1999 rams Kurt Warner jersey to the game, but told my brother I’d just wear something red since I was going for Ohio State. The laugh we had after Kurt walked past us was great. Next day at school I tweeted about the experience and said “next time”. Within 10 minutes Kurt replied saying “next time, you got it!”. Despite not meeting him initially, I’m really glad I was somehow able to communicate how much of a fan I was even if it was online. Thank you Kurt for making me the coolest guy in high school that day, for about 15 minutes.
John Randall of the Vikings is a close 2nd. Greatest interior lineman of all times. He had like 140 sacks in his career. He wasn't even given the time of day by anyone but the Vikes. They made him put on weight to even look at him. Brett Favre said the most criminally underrated player in the NFL was John Randall. I'll tell ya just how great he was. He got injured before the NFC championship game in 1998. The Defense gave up way more yards, and significantly more points VS Falcons to lose the game at the last minute. If John Randall were on the field and healthy that game, the Vikings make and win the Superbowl.

The 2008 Cardinals team was special to watch. I really wanted to see them win Super Bowl XLIII. It was, in my opinion, the best Super Bowl in the last 20 years.

I can tell you that on that play that won it for PITTS., HOLMES did not get both feet down, and I saw the best replay of it that you can see. True, it would've brought up either second or third down and Roethlisberger was a very good running, scrambling qb inside the 10. Look at what he did vs. SEATTLE in SUPER BOWL XL on that keeper for six that gave PITTSBURGH their penultimate TD before the option TD throw to HINES WARD by ANTWAAN RANDLE EL finished off the SEAHAWKS. But, on that other play in SUPER BOWL XLIII, SANTONIO HOLMES did not get two feet in. He drug one foot with the other planted, resting on the bottom of the other shoe that was in, but never did that second one touch.. It fooled the OFFICIAL and the REPLAY judge. Once again maybe PITT was going to score anyway on their next play(s) if they had to run it/them, but on that play called a TD, the NFL blew it. And, I am not a big WARNER fan..I was until in person while I was in CANTON in I believe 2017, to hear TERRELL DAVIS of my BRONCS speaking after being inducted, I heard a KURT WARNER that I had never ever read about- and I read his earliest bio- or heard before in interviews, a man that sounded bitter that he had to struggle to be given a chance and to be accepted in pro football, and boyyyy he showed them; the latter was the mentality that I heard, coming not from the KURT WARNER that showed reflective humility, not that guy. I was shocked. It was disappointing. Yep, he is human, but he to me that night looked like a different guy and what came before was just 24 carat phony territory from a person who had little humility. That's what I saw. His acceptance speech was tiresome and annoying..and very surprising. As an agnostic, I stand up for both theists and atheists, and other agnostics. Years ago I was supposedly what folks called a Christian. Well, I really was not. But..He said that he was one. Man, you could've fooled me. He did.. He could've been having a bad day..but then again, who wrote the speech? Yep..

His abilities and gifts were uncanny to watch, cannot stop watching your film to this day Kurt. This man could take beating after beating and still wouldn’t give up when most others would.
His side arm deliveries and those hot routes were just an art form. He was “The Greatest Show on Turf’s” general. He was the motor of the highest powered offense ever.
There were a few other Arena qb's I'd like to have seen given a chance. In that league, it's all about touch and reads. Kurt had a ton of reps in des moines that I think just sharpened his accuracy.

I think people talk about the underdog story of Kurt simply getting to the NFL and the success he had right away when he finally had the chance. But I think it is also close to as impressive that after finally reaching his goal and the top of the league success he had over the first three seasons the way things played out in the years that followed. The traits he had that led to him reaching the goal despite how hopeless it genuinely appeared at every stage until he finally played and shocked everyone were just as vital in the years that followed the Cinderella years. To me it had to be nearly the same overall challenges emotionally and mentally to reach the impossible goal after so many years, succeed at a level nobody could’ve ever imagined happening, and then to have to push through the next five seasons or so having reached the heights he had, knowing how good he could be and what he could achieve and working through those years. I think it had to have really sucked to be MVP, play bad and lose the next year because of injury, and then rush things to be back the next year and have such a bad game that you lose the role for good so quickly. And then accepting a hot seat role to mentor Eli, losing your spot when you were playing well enough that you didn’t deserve to lose the spot and being a team guy that you refuse to let there be a QB controversy and mentor him the whole time. And then your next chance you get named the starter twice but quickly get yanked both years and deal with injury. And then the next season you don’t get the job but keep getting little chances here and there since he isn’t playing well and only when he gets injured do you finally have the job and this time play elite ball again. And even then they name the other guy starter before rhe season but you win the job over him and for the next two seasons after pushing through all the struggles and hot potato of being the starter play elite level ball again and return to your top level. A lot of people wooodnt have been able to get through the middle seasons to have his last three.
Kurt Warner was arguably the most underrated player and one of the best stories of any player in the history of the NFL. He also the nicest guy I ever seen. I’m very glad that he played for the Rams (I’m a Raider fan but I also love the Rams because of Eric Dickerson) and also he won a championship there. I’m very glad that he is in the Hall of Fame.

One of the toughest QBs to do it. I admired him so much for taking those hits and still winning. Some of those hits would kill a normal man. I will always have love for Kurt. He was and still is a great man.
I'm a Super Die Hard Buffalo 🦬 Bills Fan but I Love ❤️ Kurt Warner , I have alot of respect for him. He taught me never to give up on anything , It doesn't matter how hard It Is , Never give up on anything that you do. A few years ago I saw that movie 🎥 about his life. , American Underdog and I have to say that movie 🎥 inspire me never to give on anything that I do. The story where he ran out of gas in a Blizzard with his family in their Chevy Blazer(GMC Jimmy same platform) I truly believe was the turning point of what was to come for Kurt. No wonder he was able to take such abuse from Coach Martz.
We now know the Patriots had video of the Rams gameplan. Thats why the Pats started strong and rams came back when they adjusted to what the Pats had seen on video.

Mike Martz seems like a guy who accepts he made mistakes and moves on. Same with Kurt… these people always live good lives… It all turned out pretty great for Kurt…I think God rewards people like that with second chances. People with good character always seem to come out on top
I used to dice guys up in Madden 2004 with Kurt lol. I felt I could hit Bruce or Holt blindfolded. As an Atlanta native it stunk to watch Kurt get lit up by those dirty Saints.
