Im watching this tho when im gonna ski at a resort 4 the first time tommorow😳 I can make a edit later how it goes xOx
Pugz Defenders how did it go?
This is genuinely such a good beginner video. I’ve never watched an entire video for over 15mins with such interest. You have a very calming tutor style, I bet you’d be great to learn from
Idk why mastering the timing of the chairlift is harder than skiing to me.
as a terrible skier, the chairlift seems to be the only thing im good at. i actually get excited to get on it cause i know i’m not gonna eat shit like with everything else.
Yeah I’m kinda tall so the chairlift is difficult but once I timed it perfectly and got so much speed off the lift
If you think going off the lifts skiing is hard, just wait until you see snowboarding...
I have been snowboarding since I was about 4 but I still fall 40% of the time coming of the lift
Ski lift always hits me in the butt and knocks me down then pushes me face down in the snow at the top
@@healingworksyesjohnn don't try to race the chair. Keep your tips up as you approach, stand once there is solid ground under your feet and then allow the chair to push you to the point where the ramp drops off.
You have saved my life
Yeah I’m going to ski right now so please come to my funeral

it would be wicked funny if you watched this while about to fall down a mountain lmao 😂

I just tried skiing for the first time today, I followed everything you said, and I was surprised by how effective all the tips are. I thank you forever! Love from japan!
You are forever welcome ;) /Jens

Thanks I feel much better; if your really good at ice skating do you think skiing will be easy?
Muddy Mallow
well, if you’re good at ice skating you’ll probably find skiing easy, since you already know balance.
@@biggie-cheese2 I got back from the ski trip yesterday and I successfully skied some easy blues by the second day!

This video is great, but can we take a second to give an applause to the CAMERA MAN!?? 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼📹
i'm like the only one who really can't ski here
Meet the 13 year old who is terrified of snow
I can't ski either, i don't have skis, it doesn't snow enough, my parents don't approve really, and no ski areas close by
I can ski but I’m horrible at it
After seeing this I want to learn to ski in Edmonton, Canada :)
Eric Edmonton is a very nice place
Jeez, European ski resorts must be lit
They are... 😊
Yes, they are
They are
Ikr I'm from Ohio and there are only green diamond hills it's super boring
they areeee
To all you beginners out there. It is all about putting the weight from one leg to the other so you can turn left or right in the "v" formation.Never forget that.If you know how to do that, the parallel skiing will come natural with time.
Dont always do the pizza/V formation in case of speedy formation what u can do in case of that u et ur skis turn
I wonder, how much time it takes ...
@@rasacornillie9322depends on your instructor and your adaptibility
@@rasacornillie9322on a good safe bunny slope I've seen lots of beginners get it in less than an hour.
And I have watched thousands of beginners. 😊
@@rasacornillie9322not long🎉 i learned in just 1 day And only thing i Can not do is to jump
I watched this video and I thought I will be the guy yelling to all beginner: get out my way!” Then I spent 7 hours to learn how to fall down and get up .
This is the best "short" beginners tutorial I've seen. Love this stuff. I'm not new but the quality of these videos are too good not to watch.
just went skiing for the first time and had a traumatic time...the instructor didn't have very good English to teach me and I nearly killed myself because I couldn't stop or turn...pretty much cried the whole day and fell numerous times which scared me because my leg would twist in unnatural ways! the feeling of losing control of my speed on a crowded steep slope and unable to stop felt similar to driving a car on a busy road with no brakes! horrifying! I still want to try again because everyone seems to love it once they master it and I want to feel that way too, lol
practice on a flat run before you go on steeper run.
first 3 times are terrible, you have to bite through that.
oh i remember my first time 12 years ago, i was a young kid and i was stubborn, i went on the black diamond for the first time without instructions. Humble brag but i pick up on this pretty easily, not that time. I fell probably 50 times until i got down, tried again the next day it was easier and so on, then tried a green run and it was easy as fuck didn't want to go, and i realized that i needed training, so next two years i was in a skii school starting every november of course, and it took some time to master the upside V stop format and then the double II on the side with the skies, it's best to go to the native country (Where you're from) and learn from another foreign country. It's going to be hard but hey, it's the greatest sport of all time.
how you doing now ?
@@irigel exactly - who goes on steep slopes as a newbie?
I'm from Brazil and I have never seeing snow before last weekend. I went to ski knowing nothing, I just watched your videos and was incredible!!! In 2 hours I was able to ski the beginners slope!!! I followed your tips and was perfect!! Thank you very much for all the learning!!!
yes he has good tips.
I am a lift operator and work the bunnyhill often.
I love seeing people who have never seen snow learn to ski!
I suppose it is because I have always loved snow and enjoy seeing others enjoy snow.
My pay is the smiles I get.
The wages are a fringe benefit. 😊
I actually snowboard, but my friends and I are doing a “switch day” where we all switch. This was helpful
Im a good skiier idk why im here but good luck for new people dont worry its not too difficult

@Underaged Father Currently in the process of learning to backflip (on skis), but ended up here?
*too* that just makes me thinck its much harder as im going in 2 hrs :/
@@soawesome-tq8nz so, how was your first time man?
Orangesnipez ITS FUCKING DIFFICULT.
Its a lot harder to learn how to ski when the place you go to is pretty crowded but this vid will definitely help next time
I know it’s so annoying when your trying to learn but have to worry about crashing into all these other clowns at the resort
My first time was at a pretty steep and short slope that was extremely crowded, my biggest fear was crashing into someone because i don't know how to properly slow down or turn lol
Remember, always crash into the snowboarders. They don’t deserve intact legs
I'm a brazilian who's never seen snow. And I literally had tears roll over my face by watching this. Such a dream. Hopefully I'll live in a place like that in a couple of years from now. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍⛄❄❄❄☃⛇
P.S. This is my first video from the channel and I'm guessing I'm already a hardcore fan. 😎
Yesterday i saw snow for the first time, it was fun at the beginning but it’s ~-20c here so the fun turns into pain really quickly. Good I live in a desert.
I’m still a beginner and I come back to this video every now and then to remind myself of the basics. Such great tips for a beginner!
I've been skiing for years, but this video is great, every skier should see it.
Do you have any tips that weren't covered on this video?
I already know how to ski, but I still enjoyed watching this :D Keep it up!

This has been wonderfully helpful. Your videos are brilliant.
Just took to the kids slope with the family in Levi, Lapland. All skiing for the first time. We were (or I was) on the deck more times than not but all thought it was absolutely amazing!!!
Onwards and upwards. Really excited to be learning a new sport/hobby as I enter my 50’s in the next few years.
Best wishes from Scotland 😎
Thank you for this video!!! Very thorough and helpful! Excited to test out these skills!
Always learn something new from this Guy. Love it.
You seem like such a chill guy, would love to ski with you some day!
got my first day of skiing at silver mountain towards the end of last season. met an awesome instructor on his day off who showed me the ropes. this is a perfect recap of everything he told me and a couple things he didn’t have time to. great video, cannot wait to get back on the slopes
Thank you!! I am a beginner skier and watched this video before I hit the slopes today. It gave me a lot of confidence and I improved and had fun!
I am going skiing soon and I am half excited half scared this video is like a life saver now I just hope I don’t forget any of this information
Joanna Zou same but I might not go 50/50 chance
@TheRelihunter from the instructors I have seen, this video was more accurate and informative than a lot of skiing instructors. Guess that is just my experience tho
ok just got all the way to the end! Yewoow!! Very Highly Recommended!
Fantastic thanks for this! =)
Thank you! Making my 3rd trip to the slopes. 1st 2 trips were 3 years ago... so your refresher was great.
I'm not anymore a beginner but is so usefull to watch it! really nice! Thanks!
I used this video during my first ski trip at Lake Placid... let me warn all beginners by saying that no matter how much videos you watch, if you don’t go out there and fall a bunch- you’ll never learn.
I am sore, my bum is sore and my back and knees are a little banged up, BUT IT WAS FUN!
Keep at it and don’t give up. I’ll be now taking a yearly ski trip after just 2 days of skiing.
Thanks for the vid! It definitely was helpful
BKPolo 4liFe try racing turn on hills that have so much ice hit gates and on top of all of that craziness they want you to go FAST and I mean fast like 70 km ( I’m from Canada ) and YA
Um if ur a beginner also know that videos like these can actually really help if u try to remember the info. But ye i relate XD
Thanks for this video. I’ve always been a snowboarder and a recovering broken ankle has me strongly considering skis. Very helpful vid.
thank you so much for sharing this video. I cannot tell you how much your tips have helped me to go from wedge turns to parallel turns in short order. The last part of your video where you say "this up and down movement is crucial...", yes indeed, that was what finally brought it all together for me. It's that movement that releases the pressure of the controlling ski edge and allows me to turn. On my 4th trip (ever) to the slopes I was able to short turn down black diamond slopes while keeping fairly good balance. It's not pretty but I can go down the slopes with high confidence that i'm not going to tumble or run into other skiers.
Terrific, going skiing for the first time in a few years tomorrow, this was really helpful to boosting my confidence for tomorrow! Thank you!
I literally experienced everything in this video on my first time skiing and it was a little bit overwhelming. Great video.
Going skiing for the first time (apart from my 3y.o. self) next weekend & this video helped thank you! ❤
i went skiing when i was a lot younger, and this is like a crash course from my skii professor. Thank you for making such a professional, instructional, clear video. I think this will save me a lot of money for when i get back into it, and need some refresher
I watched this before my first set of ski lessons and I remembered most of them really well and helped me 100%! Spot on information!
Went skiing for the first time yesterday on Mt Hermon and i managed to do the hard (red) course easily thanks to you!
I started with the medium (blue) track amd long skis and fell a few times.
After 4 rounds I switched to snow blades (sorry skis) and wow it was so easy to control!
Didn't manage to do the plowing technique (called pizza here) but parallel slaloms and drifting were a breeze!
Went to the top after a few successful runs on the medium.
It was a perfect snow(powdery) clear sky hot day (4-10 C) i was a bit over dressed though.
Thank you!
I can’t thank you enough for this video! My boyfriend invited me on a ski trip this weekend and I told him it was my first time! Knowing he would have complete confidence in my ability to “wing it” I figured I should watch a video to at least get the basics and boy am I glad I did! We got to the mountain and the only pointers that I got from him were, “if you wanna stop, do pizza…” I have never skiied in my life so I’m guessing he assumed I knew what that was! Then he proceeded to tell me we were going down a green, which in itself was scary bc why wouldn’t he start me on the bunny slopes, huh? Who knows. Anyway, I fell a couple times and was a little scared bc it was my first time (like I said before). Anyway fast forward 6 hours, we go down that first green again and I am once again traumatized a bit, which I found weird bc I did that one first….. only to find out it was a BLUE. He took me down a blue the first time with no instructions so I cannot thank you enough for this 17 minute video, because frankly without it, I would’ve died- or if I managed to get down the mountain in one piece, I would’ve murdered my boyfriend. Anyways, thanks so much for this video! It was truly a lifesaver! Cheers!!!
Lol, yeah find a new BF!
I don't get why people don't help their first time friends more.
I would treat you better than that and I don't even know you!
Get a boyfriend who will take the time to teach you
I've been inline skating for a few months and was looking for a few hints, tips, tricks to get me going! Solid video, very inlightning👍💯
Thanks. Havent been skiing for 18 Years now, I will give it a try this season - but with a ski instructor of course. Nice introduction video, i hope it helped me prepare myself a little for the skiing course.
First time i tried ski and it was fantastic!!! I couldnt believe how good i was becoming by making practice! Your advice are really helpfull!
I'm going skiing for the very first time next weekend and I'm super stressed but very excited as well! this video will definitely help be when the day comes! thank you!
This video made me understand some stuff I was doing wrong. Thank you!
I saw your recent video on learning to ski, but this video is by far the best. The way you describes things is much easier to follow, the hip movement, bow tie, they are good but not as effective as learning from this. Also, I learned more from this video than from a ski instructor I had.
this was the most magical and in-depth video I could have ever watched...and you posted it on my birthday ^_^ thanks a lot for sharing!!
Happy birthday
Love this! Ive been skiing since i was 2 and kinda cool seeing someone «learn» me this again after beeing thought by my dad 10 years ago
ok i just want to say that this was probably the best video to tutorial i have ever seen. he has put so much effort into this video and i just wanted it to never end. Just fantastic. Keep it up bro
I am going skiing for Christmas so thank you for these tips
You save my life! Thanks for the very clear explanation on how skiing work.
Great video! Great detail! It’s long, but every piece is useful! Thanks for sharing multiple angles for clarity!
The best ski for beginner vid I have ever seen, bar none.
I am an absolute beginner, I find it really good for very very useful, easy to understand and clear,so encouraging
Going to ski tomorrow and I am so excited! Thanks a ton friend!
Never hurts to come back to re learn the fundamentals. Skied for my first time in 15 years today . Surprisingly it went well with the conditions of the piste but feel I need a bit of work to get back to where I was. Felt great to be back out again!!
I am going on a ski trip with my school and ive never skied before and I'm sooo exited!

wow howd it go
Going next year :)
I haven’t skied in about a year so I lost the feel of it and am probably gonna be uncomfortable but this vid helped me to remember how it feels again. Thank you!
Thanks so much! I watched this before going skiing for the first time with some friends, and it really helped them out when I had a basic idea about everything.
Best skiing video so far ..thank you.
This video is SO GOOD. Just got back from my first time on the slopes in 10 years - wish I’d seen this video first! Super pumped to go back!!
I know there is one skill I am definitely gonna use again and again. Skill 6, at 7:03!
Great job explaining the beginner skills
This helped me out so much. I will go on a Skiing trip with my class this week and I was so scared but now It seems so easy and I’m not that scared anymore ... thanks for that!
Hey mate, appriciate the video a whole lot! - thanks for putting this together for beginners looking to get into the sport, awesome and helpful! have subscribed!
I went to Park City, Utah, recently, and skied for the first time in 50+ years. I was a beginner 50 years ago, and I still am. Your video gave me confidence, though, and I had a LOT of fun. One procedure gave me some trouble, however, and even with practice back at the house, I found it very difficult. It was getting back up when I fell. I’m actually pretty flexible, and even strong. But, the stiffness of the boots prevented me from getting far enough over my feet to move forward and ultimately back up. We’re returning to Utah again next year and maybe I’ll figure it out by then. 😋
I'm going skiing tomorrow and this is my prep...
Enjoy your life !!!
Great tutorial - I feel better now and not as afraid
I’m gonna try skiing for the first time this winter! Excited.
I'm an "advanced beginner" skier for over 20 years. I still learned something new with this video. Thank you for posting this.
just wondering, does advanced beginner mean that you are beginning to become advanced, or you are a beginner but almost intermediate?
I learned so much the first time I watched it and now I'm in a skiing teem
Good tips. The one tip that someone told me that saved me, was to turn your chest toward the direction you want to go. If you turn your upper body first, your feet follow naturally.
Thank you over a few months I have skicamp over a few months this really helps my skiskills!
This is sooo super helpful! Honest! These are exactly the things I was worried about at the beginning, including fitting in the skis or going on the lifts or taking the skis off. Great to see someone can really relate to beginners! :)
Dude, I finally went skiing (first time was in Feb 2020, second time was last week) and this video is the reason why I was immediatly able to link some turns and and not entirely fail at a red slope! Thank you!!
Since it was a ski tour, I only had two runs, but I hope to do more over the course of the winter - ski-touring or with a lift, depending on the situation. I'm so hyped!
Awesome 👏 Well done Alruhn!
Great advise on rising before you engage your parallel turn.
Recommeded video. Awesome advice. First day skiing today and found the information very practical.
I’m going skiing for my first time ever in 2 days and this video hit the spot. I feel a little calmer now. My goal is to still go to the beginner lessons too. Wish me luck, I’m excited!
how did it go?
Thanks, I haven't skied for 3 years, and this is the first time I'm going with my school, so I have to do lessons. I've never done lessons before, so I feel like I'm gonna be the only one not falling directions, and falling on my butt., and failing. I'm going to be in group 2, so I'm kinda nervous, but I want to be with my friends. The things that you taught in the video will help me a lot. Thank you!

Thanks so much for the video. I think this was the best video I have seen for skiing tips for beginners. Especially how to get up, carry skis, and put on boots. Ski instructors are booked this week on spring break and I have to teach my kids and wife. Great tips for me to show them.
Ive been skiing for 16 years, still enjoyed. :)
I literally learned how to ski from this video. First time skiing and did not fall once ! Truly amazing video. Thanks !
The point is to fall tho
You clearly didn't ski much if you didn't fall
Was it cross skiing haha?
I’ve not been skiing before and I’m going to Switzerland with my school and this has really helped thank you 👍⛷
Best beginners tutorial I’ve come cross so far. 👍🏻
Hi love this
Went skiing for the first time yesterday. Near the end of the day I took the lift to the highest point and I was screaming down the blues. Couldn’t believe I took it on so quickly. Sure I had some controlled bails but nothing crazy.
I’m hooked. Buying skis this week and taking some lessons.
Thanks for the video!
Going to Vermont next week to ski for the first time . Watching your video gave me confidence already! Thank you
Excellent beginner primer. Well done. Taking new skiers to the mountains this year and watching this is homework.
Thank you for introducing new people to our beautiful sport! I’ve been skiing since i was very young and i enjoy every second on the mountain!
To anyone watching this, i hope that you will enjoy your time as well! At first skiing may be hard but you can and will learn!
I'm going skiing for the first time in my life this coming weekend, I'm excited but nervous! ^.^"
Great tutorial. Thanks! I am going to Austria tomorrow. Good to remember all te basic moves. And... great mustache!
Sick this is going to help me so much when I hit the mountains for the first time in a couple years thanks!!!
I've been skiing for the first time recently and being a crazy guy 😂 I went on the hardest blue slope , I was thinking , well I will be alright. On the first steeper slope, crushed 😂 badly, my confidence droped to 0 I bearly could stand. After a few hundred meters and duzins of falls one guy stoped and helped me , he basicaly teached me in one run all in this video, I am very gratefull, and from that time I didn't even fall anymore. Was amazing! Nice video btw 😁
That’s amazing to hear. Glad you’re ok
Hi, I was that guy 😛😎
I watched this video one week before I went on wintersport for the first time and it took me literally less than 5 minutes to learn how to ski. Thanks to you I could go to the red and black slope right away!

Thanks for sharing these skills!!! I will share it with my friends!
