NEW VIDEOS ON FRIDAYS!
The Warp Zone is a pop-culture sketch comedy channel, and this video is a parody of the HBO Max Scooby Doo spin-off TV series Velma - Komedie
This has to be the most evil plan ever and yet it’s true.
It's more evil than plankton's plan z
All the evil plans and schemes in Austin power is no match for this paragon of all nefarious plot.
This is the only response to this show that actually makes sense. It is super absurd but they managed to upset the fans AND the woke by making it so bad even the woke can't defend it.
This is more sinister than Megatron's plan to conquer Cybertron
I haven't seen this new show (and never will), but this strategy seems to be pretty normal in recent years. The only real counter to this seems to by apathy.
Lets be honest: this stopped being a parody and turn into a documentary so fast, no one realized about it.
Not really, no one is watching Velma. The wagered everything on it and failed.
@@joshstephens413Pretty sure tons of people hate watched it seeing as how it was renewed for a 2nd season. This video is spot on
@@javiersilva1577 They were going to renew it regardless because WB next to zero intelligence collectively among the entire group of stockholders.
These Dick Richards videos will never get old. One of the best characters on youtube hands down.
It's the kind of person to absolutely hate for the right reasons yet his voice sounds so smoothing.
I’d love to see dick richards meet producer guy from pitch meetings lol I feel they’d have a fun talk
Completely agree. Diabolically hilarious, and hilariously diabolic.
I would love a mash up between Dick Richards and the Pitch meeting guys
@@bernirn lol seeing Pitch Meetings Producer Guy react to Dick Richards evil schemes would be hilarious.
You forgot to add the part of the plan where they remove all other animated shows on HBO, so there would be no competition for having the honor of “most watched animated premiere on HBO Max.”
Yeah, it makes the punchline fall a bit flat when you know that.
It's important that we spread the word about this so that more people won't watch the show. If everyone knew that HBO Max got rid of all other animated content in order to make this headline, hate watching would go extinct immediately.
Removing the other animated shows doesn’t affect their premiere views.
@@afterfake13 it does, if the margin for comparison is 0 then any results are a success. 3 people could watch velma and it would be the most watched Premier on the platform because no other animated shows are going to premiere on the platform because they canceled them and removed all other animated shows so they can later claim it's the "most watched animated show" on the platform. Again I'm sure only youtubers, reviewers and some morbidly curious people watched it probably only totaling in the low thousands if we're lucky but either way with 0 shows to compare performance on the platform it will be the bench mark so any views is a success.
@@Marcel2278 premiere views data still exists for shows that were canceled or removed. If a show was removed right after it got the most premiere views- it would still have the record until something else passes it
Warp zone literally makes everything better
Even Pitch Meetings.
@@Alejandroigarabide both
At this point you've gotta wonder if instead of watching anything we should just watch Pitch Meetings, The Warp Zone and (obviously) the original version of whatevers being rebooted.
They said that Sonic the Hedgehog was a bad movie, but it was awesome.
I dislike them for that.
@@leephillips4402 You could save yourself some time and just watch the original. Almost none of the reboots have been worth seeing
Every time I see one of these episodes with Dick Richards, I'm convinced that the Warp Zone actually has a spy camera in the actual offices of the producers and just copies word for word what is said in them
I haven't seen it yet, but the amount of press it's getting makes me want to see how bad it is. Maybe this is right...and I hate it for that.
I honestly believe this is how that show was conceived.
It's a lie, but we have to believe it so we don't cry.
In a woke stew pot on the back of the stove that was left on to long and burned the woke stew so much the woke couldn't even defend it.

@@ronpetersen2317
Why would woke people want a show where all the BIPOC main characters are trash dumpster fire people? If anything most people would like some BIPOC characters that are just regular fairly kind sympathetic human beings.
@@SurprisinglyDeep Maybe because they thought it would work by dialing Freddy's already inherent douchebaggery up to 11? They just been ramping things up here and there. Thor Love and Thunder, She Hulk, now Scooby Doo. I think it is more the so called woke are finally seeing how treating characters so poorly and out of characters and attacking the fans is not so great after all. Some of the louder woke are not sympathetic human beings. There is plenty of fighting racism by being discriminating by race. The show is more of a mirror to what most of us see with other shows that crap all over the source material. I really think they thought the woke would come out and defend it. Seems they went too far with the using internet rage for marketing.
Velma really *did* unite the internet to hatewatch, didn't it?
Fun fact, that news is inflated, HBO removed all other animated shows form the platform just before velma released and even canceled some other animated projects before they would release. This means Velma is the only animated premiere on HBO so any success is a total success. They can also claim that it's the most watched animated show on HBO because 3 people watched it to make a youtube video and it would be accurate because it's the only animated show on HBO.
It now has a lower score than db evolution, fun fact
No. I didn't watch it
I think this is accurate.
The sonic movie trailer all over again
Extremely accurate
Dick Richards is like the (more) evil version of Pitch Meeting's Producer Guy
Yeah thats what I thought too. This video reminded me a lot of pitch meetings
Evil is super easy, barely an inconvenience
Epic Rap battles
Dick Richard vs Pitch meeting guy
That would be an incredible crossover.
@@joeelliott4820 we need to make this happen
Velma is literally just Mindy Kaling playing Mindy Kaling. Which is fine, if you are a fan of her, but not so much if you are a fan of the character
No. It’s not fine
The funniest part is that I honestly have no trouble believing this is more or less how it went down.
Literally *every aspect* of the Velma show seems to have been *mathematically calculated* to make as many people mad as possible.
The only good thing to come out of it is that stuff like Mystery Inc. (2011) is getting more attention, if mainly as a pallate cleanser, for people to remind themselves how for granted we took the good stuff lol
Visual style is not that bad.
Yeah, I also unironically believe that this is basically what happened. Their apparent plan was to encourage "hate watching" by making it bad on purpose.
Finally a show which everyone isn't afraid to hate.
It has brought us all together against a common enemy.
Well everyone... Except the Nostalgia Critic.
Honestly, I can’t argue that it won’t work, because Mindy made me appreciate every single other version of Scooby.
The one that looks like Family Guy, the one with CGI Blue Falcon, i’ve been too hard on all of them.
It already happened when they made Velma & Daphne and then one year later made Scoob
Ya but they probably thought people would actully like scoob
@@unlikelysuspect5491 It was approved for a sequel before the studio gave a lot of their animated products the axe
@@brandonjones5879 🤦♀️ They really are idiots.
I watched the first episode, and I didn't even giggle once
It's supposed to be funny!?!
@edittzz4175 its supposed to be a comedy. Idk who they hired to write these "jokes"
Warp Zone must have someone on the inside their plans always makes sense as if its too real
happy to say I didn't hate watch, hate respond, or hate traffic free advertisements for anything Velma related. I just watched something else. It's true and kind of annoying how only the hate vlogers are giving this any trending upticks. Just let it be bad and fail on it's own
I'm not convinced many people actually did watch it. If they can fake Captain Karen's "success", doing so with a TV show should be a snap.
I am now convinced this is what happened and I shan't hear otherwise.
Well i mean this makes more sense than them thinking people would like that show.
Of all the work Warp Zone does, these Dick Richards sketches will always be my favorite. They never fail to put a smile on my face.
Okay guys, if the next Scooby reboot is really good, we're gonna know who called it.
Show Runner: "And I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling fans!"
That "New Coke" theory has to be the first time I heard a rational explanation as to why this show wasn't cancelled.
Save for the fact that the Coca-Cola company keeps denying that the "New Coke" fiasco was deliberate.
@@donutbevil9669 It wasn't deliberate in New Cole's case, but the idea behind it is... Functional, I guess?
I still have my suspicions about that first Sonic movie trailer...
@@bificommander7472 There's probably no way to tell in Sonicvs case. But I can at least say with some confidence that the time frame of the delays to fix Sonic did at least check out.
@@donutbevil9669 There's a good chance it wasn't. As it was the first time it had happened with a major product.
But that does mean companies can't learn for it and do it deliberately in the future.
I want a crossover between Warp Zone and Pitch Meeting now
Old man Jenkins and his account?! I see his lore got eaten up by the merger as well.
Interesting move for them to go with a queen Sonic's gambit. Not sure if sacrificing this pawn will lead to a rebound or a netflix Riverdale though...
The Riverdale Rebound is a long grift that is always in the works 😉
You know each and every time I watch these Dick Richards videos, I slowly lose my faith in humanity
This must be how every Sega Sonic pitch meeting goes
*cut to ian flynn single-handedly fixing every single problem with tails, knuckles and amy's characterization while simultaneously making two of the most beloved "non-canon" characters canon to the mainline games and shattering the status quo into a billion pieces*
these skits deserves so much more views theyre smart and funny
"The new coke Gambit"
It works Everytime if it doesn't destroy you in the process.
No matter what anyone says, this will forever be how the show was made in my mind.
The way I see it - Velma is calculated ragebait to trend on the social media algorithms, probably so a showrunner or producer can boast about how much "engagement" or views he made, so canhepleasegetabonus?
In the end, it's bait.
It's brilliant bait,
Calculated bait,
Masterful bait
And it has shown the world that Mindy Kaling is a Master Baiter
This evil scheme must make Mojojojo jealous and make whatever cartoon villain crying with glee.
@@tatarchan5212 Mojojojo does not like this show. Because it is a show that is bad. A bad show that is very bad and Mojojojo does not like bad shows that are bad like this show that is bad because it is bad.
I'm paraphrasing, but I agree.
You may want to rephrase that last sentence.

In the industry we call that "doing a Sonic"
it remind me of a qoute.
if you lock up people in a room and give them crap to eat everyday. they will loath you
give them a piece of bread instead and they will worship you
I just saw a Velma meme on Facebook 4 hours ago and now this?
CZcams is stalking me again
I'm pretty sure the whole thing happen is because of whoever write Velma show and WB just goes with it.
why does this feel like the actual conversation that they had to have had for this show
They took notes on Godzilla 1998, Godzilla fans hated it but then were so happy when the monsterverse came out because it was more traditional.
I feel like Dick Richards is an evil Multiverse version of Nightwing like The Maker, who's an evil Multiverse variant of Reed Richards.
I think the master plan of James Gunn is to finally making Scooby Doo 3 at Warner Bros, all the DC super hero thing is a diversion
If he can finally make his R rated Scooby Doo script that would make it all worth it.
@@TheWarpZone Exactly!! As much as I love the two films, the Studio really censored him. Now he just have to ask Zaslav when he wants.
Let it be known, that it's only the highest because HBO got rid of all the other original animated shows, added on top of the fact that it's a beloved character as well as a show that everyone had to watch because of how bad it is
I came into it with an open mind, despite the previews looking bad.
I regret everything.
Agree with everything you said except that you "had" to watch it. Nobody needs to do anything in this life except one day naturally perish, and pay taxes.
If you "needed" to watch it you could've just watched clips off of here.
This is forcing chickens watch you make an omelet level villainy
We all see now the end goal of this show was to redeem scrappy and make him beloved by the fans so they could sell new scrappy merch.
The perfect Multiverse Villain doesn't exist
Dick Richards: Allow me to introduce myself
I thought you were going to say Velma.
If she's not the real villain in the end, I'm going to be disappointed.
This implies they had a plan. I don't believe that.
The ceo and the upper council hadmve a plan, they just know understand mindy well enough to know that she is much better at creating controversy and chaos without them mapping it out for her
In superhero terms it is like if someone intentionally lets the joker free knowing that the joker’s brand of chaos Is enough to distract batman and the police without actually needing to tell the joker to distract batman or the police. It is what the joker does and you are taking advantage of it
Same way with the upper management and mindy
I call the new Shaggy ‘Smooth Shaggy’
He has become a meme in my house.
Lowkey waiting for a shaggy show where he canonicaly is good at fighting(ultra instict) but drunken fist style, so it's all an accident but on purpose.
I really can't bear to acknowledge it's existence.
This is just what I needed after watching that show
I think the gag is the line, "I fuckin' hate it here."
Yeah but like, how many Max Original Animated Series are there? I don't think it's really worth bragging about beating "The Prince" and "Batwheels" in viewers numbers
I love Dick Richards. Dude is a freaking genius.
Velma is the best example of character assassination since what Dragonball Super did to Vegeta.
At least Vegeta has his moments - Velma's so far has no moments worth of notice
I would have gone with everyone’s character assassination in Dragon Ball Evolution and that’s saying a lot considering.
What? What did Super do to Vegeta besides have his priorities change as he got older and had a family?
I think you mean Goku, his reputation is now that of a bumbling idiot thanks to Super and Dragon Ball Z Abridged.
Literally just got a Velma ad for the beginning of this video
The idea was good on paper, making a story of a popular character of the Scooby Gang, it could work. But it was just done poorly
THIS IS THE MOST EVIL PLAN EVER!
Are we really going to believe HBO? And even if its true, what is the retention rate?
I refuse to believe this will work
I gave it a chance. I won't be watching any more episodes. I'm not even offended, more confused on why and how it even exists.
This was basically what the sonic the hedgehog movie did.
Exactly.
Oh my god I forgot about warp zone. I was obsessed when I was younger. So glad it popped up randomly on my feed!
Hi! You got vids to catch up on!
A couple articles have pointed out that it's being touted as the highest "HBO Max Original Animation Premiere"
When you consider this is basically the first original animated show that actually premiered on the service, that REALLY doesn't mean much.
(Harley Quinn premiered on DC Universe, the only show I think that could compare to this would be Jellystone, and I bet you that show probably has better long term views than Velma).
Yogi: hey Booboo, people are disliking this show, but they're our coworkers so we should all give them a chance.
Velma: I hate you and everything about you, you fat stupid bear and you should die. Why is everyone being so mean to me... I'm really wonderful and clever (gay joke, non-ironic racist joke). Your penis is tiny.
Velma had to have been written by an A.I., right.
no it been show A.I is way batter
Just wait till Shaggy shows up to complain to you Dick Richards. I have a feeling 20% of his power will topple you.

The worst part is that this isn't over dramatic
This is accurate
This actual marketing strategy
This makes me laugh so hard! It's like a Pitch Meeting!

Great to see dick Richards is back and is in top form as ever also warp zone your videos are awesome keep up the brilliant work 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Love you guys. But did anyone else had a Pitch Meeting feeling at the end? Guys says "no one will watch it, people are not that dumb". Then BAAM"! Slam a hard news on your face, lol.
Well, "Epic Movie" and "Meet The Spartans" were #1 at the box office.
dick richards is the best character in the warp zone cinematic universe
Should've known Dick was behind this. Let me guess, did he have shows like Final Space and Infinity Train cancelled to devote more resources to Velma too?
Those were popular among a small group, but expensive for the audience size. Velma is cheap and people will hate watch. If they don't, we'll criticize them for either being racists or libs trying to cancel everyone because they can't take a joke. Whichever, we'll pander either way.
Wait, HBOMaxDiscoveryPlusUniverseWBCW is losing $? But how?
What you describe is call the “Overton Window”.
Writer: Really??!!
Dick Richardson: yup!
I actually would prefer this to be reality as opposed to anyone actually thinking Velma is genuinely good.

@@solvseus and here's my question to you. Why did you watch it? Didn't you see from the trailer what it was supposed to be? I swear people love to see what they hate even more than seeing what they love
I legit believe Netflix did a semi similar tactic when they did their entry into the masters of the universe franchise. Difference being that they made the crappy show appealing with news snippets of people involved. From the show creator being Kevin Smith who's a celeb high authority of pop culture, to the cast being various staples of nostalgia baiting like Mark Hamill and Sarah Michelle Gellar, to the animators being the same people who worked on the Castlevania show, to Bear McCreary who in 2019 made people care about an entire movie score for the first time since Lord of the rings.
While that may be true, it only had the biggest premiere day out of any animated show on there because its the ONLY animated show on there.
Well it's the biggest animation premiere cuz there's none left on the platform lol
I really hope this is true. Because thinking that this was a genuine show made with the intent of thinking its golden and everyone was gonna like it will leave me more depressed than I already am.
BTW. What the fuck has Fred ever done to be made into such a shitty character?

@@liamphibia Fred....😭
He is the most generic of the gang as the others have roles to fit in (see Jelloapocalpse's video if you haven't for a deeper dive and why that is an okay thing). That and the creator is part of the people with a wired mindset that the boogeyman is all straight white males.
He commuted the worst crime of all time not only is he a WHITE MALE but even worse he is a STRAIGHT WHITE MALE IN 2023. It’s absolutely disgusting
Mindy grew up with rich parents, never worked a day job in her life & was handed a Hollywood job through her parents contracts & influences. So when she wrote Fred as a spoiled rich kid with no soul. Yeah i can definitely see that, she's actually really writing herself. This is what we in the business call "The Projection" & a classic Freudian Slip.

The worst part about this is that this video is probably what happened behind the scene. There's absolutely no way they could make a show like this on accident. It has to be written by someone who's either an evil genius or a really really *really* toxic feminist Karen.
Woke people hate it too. Everyone seems to hate it. I genuinely do not understand how anyone could like it.
Love the sketch, but the punchline falls flat when you realize HBO Max doesn't have ANY other original animated series. (They gutted them all. It was a pretty big controversy.) So Velma is a winner by default.
It works almost every time too, that's the worst part
At first. Not for long. I see people falling off, then if they do have another season, it completely bombing.
I didn't realize the enternet bullying the sonic movie into fixing itself would result in this
