making 100k+ and worried about 11k on a car. SMH buckle down and pay off the other debts
Beans and rice
15 months will come and go whether you knock out this debt, or not. Imagine both endings and how you would feel at that time. THAT is your motivator. God's speed👍
If this had been a man calling... SELL ALL CARS, DRIVE RICE WITH THE PAINT COLOUR BEANS 🙂
🤣🤣
💯; queens get different advice, they have to stay happy.
Did you listen to the call?
Christina was sitting there. Usually when there is another female co-host there with him, he's nice and forgiving.
Dude 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀
Yes, Ramsey’s formula for debt is get rid of it. Either sell it, pay it off in cash, or work on a plan to pay it off ASAP.
As is way too often attempted, at the 2:21 mark she tried throwing in the "I need more expensive cars for my kids' safety" BS excuse. 🤣
I don’t even know why they bother calling and revealing the mindset they currently have and will undoubtedly will continue to have and not change a thing.
I need a chauffeur driven limo to protect my kids...
A towncar is a literal tank but has couches as seats
Yea like an 18 wheeler doing 80 miles per hr is gonna care how new your car is if it hits you head on.
that logics always laughable. anything post 90's is fine, is something today safer, maybe a bit but we grew up with less.
Yeah since a Honda Civic base model is 30k with taxes but as a mechanic both of her cars are just total junk vw and a jeep both junk
I’m thinking about buying a new
Honda Accord cash
@@PInk77W1 I have a Honda Accord and I love it.
VW is the worst car i owned, I had a Jetta and a Golf, both trash. Chrysler is even worst. I had to go with Toyota-Lexus
The “umm”s are killing me, man.
That VW is not worth 19k.
They could atleast get 25k for it if they decided to sell it
@@mikelambert5600 Yeah 25K pesos or Zimbabwe Dollars 💵
It was $43K when they bought it new. Never understood why broke couples make such risky decisions.
Must have 80/90k miles
$19K is probably a little low for a ‘18 Atlas. Kinda depends on the trim level and mileage but you could get low $20K’s private party for sure.
Jeep & vw. Sure can pick em
I don’t live in America. We have student loans where I live. However it’s amazing to hear how much student loan debt exists out there. Really rough for a lot of people
Well people are deluded into thinking they have to have the best of the best to do everything. You can do college reasonably. But, people believe they desrveeee things and borrow to get it.
It’s a 2019 vw atlas that’s a worse car than a $6000 Honda acord or a Toyota Camry yes I would definitely sell that car
Sell it before it breaks. There is a reason it’s only worth $19k.
We drove a minivan and a car, neither one with safety devices, and our kids did just fine. My wife drove a 2002 Jeep Liberty, with kids, for 14 years. Kids were fine. Don't use "safety" as an excuse to do stupid things.
I own a 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 with Corsa Exhaust and a 2007 Corvette Z06 Twin Turbo making over 1,000 WHP
Try me on "safety"
@@15KHPCLUB Me after totalling my bike and almost dying now driving: "yea most cars are safe enough nowadays"
That’s the thing, your old cars DID have safety devices. Front airbags and seatbelts are by far the biggest safety breakthroughs. We’re well into diminishing returns on vehicle safety at this point. I love the excuse of other people - “I had to buy a $60k suburban for my daughter because big vehicles are safer.” Hahaha okay
@@BabyGators Those did, but the cars I drove in my younger days didn't have either, and yet we lived!!
Me. No car. No debt. Life is good.
This lady has no idea what people are paying for vehicles now and you need to drive something. The vehicles aren’t the problem

Rachel is a superior co-host in innumerable ways.
Not Rachel. It’s Kristina.
@@thewizard350 I know; Kristina can’t hold a candle to Rachel. Rachel and Dave are the best duo.
Rachel is hotter too 😈
@@David-wo9un Someone who has been cohosting for five years is a better cohost than someone who has been cohosting for five months? Colour me shocked.
The Jeep is a pile of junk
Not if it's a Rubicon or SRT
I never understood why financially unstable people decide to get $42,000+ European gashog SUVs. A used Toyota Highlander/Camry is x4 times cheaper and would outlast that brand new VW Atlas by many years. It’s the same as financing a BMW while being unemployed in college.
@@jire9831 i have a 2013 corolla rn and no issues so far and it helps me save more money so soon i can finally buy a mustang gt cash
Because they have style and wanna feel good instead of driving a Toyota. They just have to learn to postpone instant gratification and put half down atleast or buy rebuilt titles in all cash.
A old Jeep Liberty can be a money pit too.
@ unfair sanic
Just remember anyways pay thing in CASH and in Full. If you cannot afford it then don’t buy it.
@@jondoe5305 Gotta look good in front of your broke friends, don't you side piece??

the best way to start a business with no money is to learn high income skill and start a side hustle then convert it to a business. a fellow creator. !!!!
This is an old segment . What's up with new one's ?
Some people want to retire early not to do nothing but to live the life they really want. Maybe you still want to work but only part time. Or maybe you want to go into a field that you love but doesn't pay much.
I wonder how many of these callers get out of debt in Dave’s timeline
I did. Been in debt all my life.
Did a 180
Now no debt. Bought a home cash.
Have large savings account.
Life is Good
@@fastallowance68 Millions have.
Very few. Its a pipe dream.its not reality for many.
Sorry our nation's health care is such a joke. When having a baby keeps you from reaching your financial goals, something is wrong.
145k with three kids in D.C. is not enough income.
What happened to using the car payment that has been freed up to help payoff more debts?
Because the cars aren’t too excessive and they’d need to buy another car anyway. That’s what Dave said. The cars were only 11k of that 80k+ debt.
Depends on the ratio
I can't she says to many ummm
Come on people, you don't need to go $85k in student debt to make over 100k. An elecrician can make that kind of money.
All you need is English 101 and basic algebra

Only thing I would have told her is to get rid of that junky Jeep and trade it straight for a Honda or toyota. About time for that engine to blow on that thing. Those are junk.
Oh yeah Dave is right the car is not the issue. They just need to make a plan and Chip away
My 2014 Passat is worth $19k how is her 2018 worth that???
Bcuz its 4 yrs newer, thats why.
Oh good grief, the three young kids are your first priority. Daycare takes up a huge chunk until they get in school. For those who say "sell the car and buy a cheapo, well, you've got to get three car seats and two adults into this family car. Safe options are limited.
Next, $82k debt with $11k in car loan means $71k in student loans. They make $140k plus. Put the student loans on a 3-5 year amortization and get on with your life. Three year amortization is about $2200 / month. Five year amortization is about $1400 per month. Any extra money, yes, toss it on the student loans until paid off.
Cases like this need a realistic approach, not some financial "guru" who is trying to sell you books, apps, seminars, and steer you toward his advertisers. Not once did Dave ask about rent / mortgage, insurance, grocery expense, clothing expense, daycare expense, etc, etc, etc.
We rode in the back of a station wagon with no seat belts and survived. Those kids will survive in the cars they already own.
If you hate Dave so much, why are you here, troll?
Does not matter what type of car you drive if at the end of the day you are not a careful driver, speed, cut corners, text and drive and do not obey the law. Start by taking care of that and being more aware and diligent on the road and the kids will be fine.
@@andidede3653 So true. You buy what you can afford. That's what we did, and we had some pretty bad cars, by today's standards. And we all lived.
Who all has ran Cross Country?
Imagine if adults didn’t feel the need to ask permission from a radio show host what they may or may not keep. Maybe people should grow up and not treat Dave as their father or something
People are different some small problems are big ones for others. If everyone has the same skillset, and mentality I'm sure this program wouldn't exist. Be kind and have some empathy
@@victors16811 can I accept this opportunity? Can I do the baby steps in reverse? Can I keep my car? Can I go on vacation? It’s really amazing how juvenile these adults are
It’s just brain storming
Umm counter
If she sold the car for 19k and buys a car of 15k. (You can get a nice car for 15k) she has 4k to throw at the debt. Dave told her to stay in debt????
But she only had 7k of equity in the car, so she would still have to take out a loan to make up the difference.
Dave is too soft on women. His advice should be the same for either gender. Out makes sense to sell the VW Atlas to clear $11k of the debt.
Can I ask her?
Regardless...start eating rice and beans (Cajun version).
That's good and healthy stuff!
No it isn't
Too much arsenic and not enough nutrients
@@15KHPCLUB If you're being served arsenic in your rice and beans, your problem is much more serious than having to sell your car.
