Daikin is the hidden gem in North America. relatively new in this market. Huge everywhere else in the world. I love my Daikin!
Hey Brother. All of your hard work never goes unnoticed. You guys are awesome. Please continue your great work.
Thanks brother!! That means alot
I always learn something new from your videos. In this case about the concrete coring tool and rental from Home Depot. Also about the caulking gun.
I share these with my brother too.
Keep them coming, I watch with anticipation.
You’re the first person I see using the flare seals. Nice work and cheap insurance vs having a leakage.
Great video, I'm a new homeowner and looking to install a 4 zone mini split unit. I'm pretty handy but not familiar installing units but you videos are giving me a lot of confidence. Great video man. Thank you for your time, highly appreciated 🙏👍

Very well done! Like that you perform vacuum procedure without Schrader core, even though I saw a Fieldpiece digital manifold gauge hanging around.
Service tech here, that head is way too tight in the corner, this will be an issue if any components on the head unit ever need to be replaced. In the future I would try to leave a bit of clearance on the right side where power comes in so you can access and remove the boards if necessary
Thanks for showing us this. Very good video for DIY'er!
Great video! Me and my Dad DIY'd a tankless water heater this weekend, what a project!
Nice bro. How did it go?
Thank you so much for this video! I'm a single parent in Alaska and just installed a heat pump by myself! Not much need for AC here, so I skipped the refrigerant, but looking forward to the heat since my furnace died!!
Are you being sarcastic?
WOW!!! The old school flare tool. I haven’t used mine in a long time but I still have it. Your videos are well done . Wish I wasn’t so dam old and I could do some side jobs.
I relate to this!
Enjoy your videos. Always hold the stationary fitting with a wrench while you tighten the flare nut.
Good job. I do the installation a little bit different but you did a great job keep going and god bless you.
Nice work!!
Daikin split AC clasic and nice look.. ❤
I am SO Jealous! Power Tool Heaven!!! Rooby Power tools! Just Kidding... And So organized Too! Great video!
Not quite sure why u cut off the factory flare fittings for the shark bite style fittings. I only use the shark bite fittings if I'm in a pinch. The factory fittings will give u a superior connection.
Awesome video on the ductless install can you elaborate on the wiring, breakers, communication, and high voltage wiring.
thank you so much man you are the best
I live in Las Vegas. Put this Daikin 36K BTU dual zone system in 2 rooms. This unit is amazing. However, parts and installation cost me $14,000. One room has a 2 ton head unit and the second room has 1.5.
Mitsubishi and Daikan are Japanese designed zoned HVAC systems. However, Daiken is assembled in Texas and was having serious quality issues when they moved their plant from Taiwan to the US. I chose to install a Mitsubishi system due to this issue of quality control. Mitsubishi has teamed up with Trane/American Standard in the US.
Really interesting video - and well made. You have a great setup with that trailer (love the cooler), but please brother, consider using PPE. Especially hearing and dust protection when drilling through a foot of concrete!
Omg. I just bought a cooper hunter last night. If I would have waiting I would have went with that one
Cooper and Hunter is a great brand. I have a separate video showing a Cooper and Hunter install 👍🏼
Can you do how to replace the fan motors that blows the cold air out that would be very helpful.maintaining mini splits.
your videos are great! What kind of camera are you using?
Thanks a lot for honest videos!
A bit off this video, but thinking to move from central split ducted to package unit.
I read on pros and cons but there is nothing on changing from one to another.
As benefits I see
1. More reliable
2. Free space in basement
3. Does not required any training to install.
So, would be great yo get your point
I love package units.
I’m not sure that they are more reliable per say, but I love that it’s all contained to one space. Which means more space inside. And yes not having to have refrigeration and brazing skills is definitely a plus. If I had to choose between a split system and a package unit, I’d 100% pick a package unit 👍🏼
Are you referring to switching from a ducted mini-split to mini-split heads in each room? Or are you talking about moving from conventional ducted AC/gas heating to a mini-split (unducted) system? Is the free space coming from removing the ducts? Thanks!
Nice install. What size circuit breaker did you use? Did you use a GFCI Circuit Breaker?
what i would like to see how to fix fridge when coils freeze up or anything related to why your freezer doesn't freeze and how to troubleshoot the problem .
Can you please post the link for that extension on the indoor drill that’s attached to the holesaw
I've been a Fujitsu user but, I have had coil leaks on every system I have installed!
I know another HVAC pro too that loves Daikin 😎
I do not like them, have alot of them and they are just ok. Mitsubishi #1,Fujitsu #2, on the cheap I would go Pioneer!
I’ve put in lots of Fujitsu and daikins and worked on countless. Fujitsu coil quality is the worst. so many leaking coils.
Never heard of them, Daiken is Worlds Largest Mfg. A/C.@@petersmart1999
Would flare connections work on the refrigerant lines for a conventional AC (conventional, full-size system rather than mini split)?
Did you have to purchase lines separately?
i just ended up gettting the senville aura cuz the daikens have been getting too expensive oveer the last year or two i noticed
Funny, pretty much every where else in the world u can use the corrugated drain line. Over here in portland oregon it's a no, no.
Portland inspectors suck ! Did u get an inspection ?
Would you recommend Daikin over other units? It's significantly more expensive and I didn't find many good reviews on it but I know it has a good reputation amongst many in the industry.
Do you know why they don’t just keep the B terminal the same size fittings as terminal A for the flared fittings? I’m not sure why they’d need to add all the extra fittings and such if Terminal A for the lines already fit right up.
Also, where did you get your flexible drain hose and line hide?
nice...
Do you have a preferred brand for DIY? Or are they all essentially the same quality?
I would say brands which give warranties to diy installers
Toshiba shorai edge 13000 btu hakkında bilginiz var mı
Any link for that flare tool? couldn't find it on your Amazon links..
Tru Tech Tools, you can get a 45 deg Husky from HD
Why does EPA always change to newer refrigerants causing prices to increase for existing refrigerant?
What about accessing the control board for service down the line?
Get a ladder Daniel😂
@@petersmart1999 you need the wall to come down to access it. Or take the unit down which at that point you couldn’t test anything anymore
I was being a little facesious! I see alot of issues with alot of the things he does!
Why not make the fitting at the unit the size for the line set instead of adding an adapter?
So when you pull a vacuum, does it pull on both heads at the same time? Thanks!
Correct
If i have a multi zone unit, can i add another air handler to the other line set ports in the future? What is the process of adding another line set and air handler?
Yes you can get a 4 head and install 3 heads until you are ready to add the last one
Hi Brother it really great job , i follow all your instructions as well and after everything when i turn all the unit seem only 1 unit working really nice and cold the other unit in different bedroom it look like not getting any cold out is that something i did wrong can you help me Thank a lot
Make sure your communication wires are going to the correct head. I had it once where they were swapped and one head only worked. So that could very well be your problem. So swap the wires out at the condenser and see if both heads work. Worth a try
@@diyhvacguy thank Man it exactly i search and read the error code U4 let me swap it out thank again man
Thank Man all work cherry now perfect you so awsome man love it
Can solder be used to add to join more copper length to a mini split system?
Yes. Make sure the female and male ends fit pretty snug with little to no gap. Make sure the solder used is meant for ac applications. Purge the system with nitrogen after the pressure test. Internal cleanliness of the lines is vital. Not even air can be in the lines when its time to start the unit up.
@@Oksobasically2 bro you're actually wrong. Mini split manufacturers don't want splices in their copper at all. You'll void your warranty!! I thought this trade only took a few months to learn??
Absolutely not. You risk voiding warranty if you braze a mini split lineset.
FYI, you have the wrong size valve core removal tool in your amazon link. I bought it which is the black 1/4" not the pink 5/16 that is needed for these mini splits
👍🏽

One thing i want point out. The unit is too close to service panel
As it need 3 feet away from service panel. Look up NEC
110.26 it need to be 30 inches away minium from that service panel. It the first thing electrician learns in begining of National Electric code. If u ever have a meter disconnection and when u try to get your electric turn back on. They prolly will force owner to relocate the HVAC equipment. Reason for this. U domt want create a ground path while electricians or utilty company working on the panel.
Thank you for this point... For future refernece.
You are incorrect as per an electrical inspector I consulted. I suggest you re-read 110.26.
Three dimensions are to be considered. Width, Depth and Height of the "working space".
The width. NEC 110.26(A)(2) states that “the width of the working space in front of the electrical equipment shall be the width of the equipment or 762 mm (30 in.), whichever is greater.” In addition, this work space shall permit at least a 90-degree opening of the panelboard door.
The depth, that is the space directly in front of the electrical equipment shall be 900mm or 3 feet.
The height, as per 110.26(A)(3) is “to remain clear and extend from the grade, floor, or platform to a height of 2.0 m (6 ½ ft) or the height of the equipment, whichever is greater.”
Why you always put the connections or flares to the wall? In case of leak you cant see the leak, cant pull the unit unless you uninstall 3/4 of the installation. Theese indoor units are super Easy to disassemble so you have Easy work space inside of the indoor unit and there is plenty of space for connections. In case of leak you just open the unit and check if the leak is there in 5mins.
He removes the Schroeder valves and other people don’t. Is there a big difference?
Pulls vacuum way faster, and when you let the nitrogen out, you can do it in a quick blast to purge the lines

Whare are you from brother please tell me please
Slc, Ut
I have used them they will leak I stop using them I did everything rite followed the instructions I don’t know why the EPA passed these fittings
I clicked off once you started using those rubbish clip on fittings...should of just cut a hole on the left side of the bracket or the centre and flared it that way...
So you clicked off, and then clicked back on it again to leave this comment? 🤣
