Winter Carp Fishing on the River Goyt in Stockport

- In this short video we go winter river fishing on the river Goyt at Pear Mill in Stockport, which is part of the Stockport and District Angling Federation. We also catch up with our good friend Andy, CZcams member Fishmadrid who show's us his latest river catch from Spain, a 40lb plus common carp. We explain our tactics and show you the rigs that we are using. Federation cards are available from most good tackle shops around the Stockport area and run for a full twelve months from 16th June. Catch reports from the River Goyt include Carp, Barbel to double figures Chub Roach Grayling and Trout. For more information on fishing around the North West and also the UK please visit our website.

Just come across your site. So interesting to see fishing on the Goyt, Tame and Etherow. Now lived in Cornwall for nearly 40 years but born in Hyde and lived in Bredbury and Romily . When I was a kid, the rivers were filthy and smelled dreadful. Fish could not survive do it's great to see how they have cleaned up. You guys enjoy.

Great video lads it's a pity you blanked, have you tried the river Ethro, had a great session many years ago, at Broadbottom, catching roach for fun, still to this day I don't nowhere they came from.

nice to see harry bk smiling,much more proffessional look to the video,a bit short lol,gl hope to see harry smash his pb this year,wouldnt of fancied my chances of a carp from a river in those conditions,look up badenhall specimen in eccleshall,would love to see a feature on that by your crew,and of cause a great chance for a biggy,gl tight lines

Jig a small small spoon lure in the wash at the waterfall. It works in the usa.

Top video loved it shame you did'nt catch! Maybe next time trott a float through the swim then you can catch perch, chub, roach ect!
How things have changed,I remember when their was fish after fish to catch..now all gone,shame, the river is virtually dead.
