      I think I tried watching this that first day I subbed, but it wouldn't load. Here in a bit I'm going to watch the other vids you posted after this one. I know I'll be going back to 'em once I get my supplies

    Dumb question, but could you add glue to something like this to strengthen it even more? Would it work on a 12”x12” cobblestone terrain tile?

      glue probably wouldn't add much strength ( mixed into the water). but you can easily use higher psi gypsum.... and a acrylic clearcoat will add strength also ( future floor polish a good choice ).. and it is technically possible to add small amounts of cement to plaster.

      If you are making several 12x12 tiles i would make a larger mold ( to speed up casting ).

    great video! just one thing: aren't the pieces made of plaster a bit delicate? am i wrong? it's cheap but i'd be quite scared of damaging my final terrains..

      it depends on casting material. Plaster can range from plaster or paris which has a strength rating of 2,000 psi.... I personally use hydrostoneX which has a rating of 15,000 psi. which is as strong as some entry level resins.

      I also do resin casting. Which i have used a resin material that has a rating of 90k ( technically it is also bullet proof).

      So it really all boils down to - what material you use, are you safe/gentle with it, and the most important factor in my book- Is this a one time piece you are making? or something you will use all the time?

      you're quite welcome. If you get a chance check out my resin casting video- at the end i show a cast of the bullet proof resin - and then i smash it with a hammer a few times- that stuff is crazy hard

    plaster or resin?

    • @DungeonmasterMark
      @DungeonmasterMark  Před 5 lety +2

      i do both.... plaster is best for learning. but resin is quite durable....

      Nelson Baietti I like plaster because it is much better for the environment
