    SO love your reviews! Comprehensive, sciency, and always imaginative. lol...This would be totally out of common demand, but:
    A Fosi take on a "high end" integrated would be very interesting. A quality input board with good components, Dual-mono with essentially two v3 monos sharing a very beefy power supply (finally decent but not overpriced internal lps or even a switcher to an IEC inlet on the back). A few rca and at least a set of balanced inputs, tone controls that are defeatable, still able to opamp swap, mono/stereo sub outs, decent volume control (maybe quasi digital and something close to alps but not as crazy expensive) and a remote. Nope, haven't though about this at all.

    Another entry level cheap product. Your recommendations are spot on.
    No info on what DAC is used. And the most important. Adding PFFB is a few cents' cost. They didn't do it...

    I am not excited about this product. May work (near field), but not for me. Typically non-powered subs are found in the automotive industry, so that part is a bit of a head scratcher. It is always good to hear about what really makes a product tick with a fair review.

    Needs RCA sub out!

    i love the pasive sub , ihave bt 30 which seems to do great job with my 12 inch eminence actually runnning 4 of them quite efiiciently at norm volumes, i sometimes take it too a youth club and does great, although at two thirds volume, my huge amps yamaha, nad sony have been pushed to the side the mc will suit me more than the monos, my next fosi buy i think, good vid thank you

  • @gilpena9591
    @gilpena9591 Před 2 měsíci

    You should build an active sub and test it. I had a 25.00 class a b amplifier board with 2.1 passive sub outlet. It is so balanced when you have it this way. And I mean so balanced. It sounds great all the time and you just kind of get used to it. I guess it blends together perfectly is what I've noticed. I know some people like to blast their base here and there but really it always sounds better when it's balanced. Add $25 when my main amplifier went out on me, I was using it as just my subwoofer amplifier at the time. When the amplifier went out I had to use it as both my main speakers and my subwoofer amplifier. It genuinely sounded better and way worse than it did before. It sounded worse because of the quality and price of the amplifier but better because of the balance of the bass subwoofer

    A bit pricey for what is delivered -- Douk T6 Pro coming out has 2 larger black VU's with TPA3255 and no digital inputs which isn't really needed and does LDAC with the Q5125

  • @apparaoapparao

    Wish list:
    Headphone out at the front
    XLR out at the back if dreaming big
    I hear you about passive subs being scarce; but I prefer passive subs and appreciate a powered sub out.
    Suppose you could use the pre out to powered subs
    A good preamp to pair this one with via RCA in would be the AIYIMA T10 (has headphone at the front and a nice digital display)
    I don't have any Wiim products as I use a TV (spotify app) as my streamer.

  • @JoseFerreira-zb7wh

    Nothing much over the bt30d pro other than aesthetics and the automatic standby feature. Oh and if you need/ want an integrated dac. (no info on what it actually is) No frequency adjustment for the sub though. I'll keep my bt30d pro + smsl su1. It's not enough to justify a new unit in my opinion. If they had added some sort of crossover adjustment or high pass filter...maybe a remote? That would make me think.

    • @MattCoykendall1
      @MattCoykendall1  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Biggest change here is definitely the aesthetics, good amp, good sound but nothing truly groundbreaking inside. It would make a good buy for someone who hasn’t jumped into mini class D segment yet though, just depends what your looking for really. Appreciate the comment!

    i want . Remote with EQ and input controls. 2 way plus line out for sub, low pass and high pass filter to remove load if sub in use. TPA3255 or equivalent with PFFB. Power sufficient to deliver 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms and plenty of headroom so i can drive older 4 ohm towers.

  • @PhillioDoede
    @PhillioDoede Před 2 měsíci

    I like the visual design but this is a pretty strange amplifier and I don't think we need anymore of small compact class D amps. That market is beyond saturated at this point.
    I'd like to see Fosi build a full or 3/4 sized dual mono 3255 amplifier with the PS onboard that has the same visual design language as this amp. Pair that with a matching pre-amp with 3-5 inputs, a pre-out and/or subwoofer out, remote maybe an onboard DAC and phono stage and Fosi would really have something to go up market.

  • @scottbennett3119
    @scottbennett3119 Před 2 měsíci +1

    I like your reviews! Thank you. Something I have noticed about the three 3255 chip class D amps I own have in common is that I don't feel like I am hearing all of the audio/music, especially in the mid-range. It is like I am listening through a filter. So I looked into how class D amps work, and the output signal is actually put through a filter to make the audio listenable.

    Any idea what DAC chip is inside?

    • @991carreras3
      @991carreras3 Před 2 měsíci +1

      The dac chip just needs to be a current one. The chip only has one function a dacs sound is based on the power supply and how the manufacturer developed the analog output stage that's what gives a unique sound to the dac. My $2500 receiver from 1999 with a burrbrown dac chip sounds better than any dac today under $500.
