Both men are amazing in terms of their ability to master the countertenor register. Jaroussky's tone might be a bit more sweet and limpid, but Orlinski has the better build. So there's that.

In his case is not the voice he has but his vibrato is absolutely everywhere, after a while it becomes a nuisance to me. I recognise his achievements and technique but to listen to him in the long run... I cannot. I like Orlinski, Scholl and Mead (when he does not overuse vibrato).
Surprising how few recordings of this aria exist. It’s such a rombustuous piece that I imagine it should appeal to many more performers. Given the power of the aria and the voice needed to do it most justice I prefer Orlinski. The arrangement and orchestration is also far more exciting.
I do not need to choose. That I can tell one from the other is good enough. On second hearing, perhaps the orchestration for Orlinski is more subtle than for Jaroussky. Thank you for posting.

One person has said it’s all in the nature of his voice itself and he can’t change that. I don’t agree. It’s not in the sound of the voice itself; I guess he’s essentially a soprano. Other men are sopranos without the boyish quality. I think it’s in a little-kid manner Jaroussky has, not the voice itself.

And immediately, surprisingly, the song appealed to my heart. I'd be stupid if I thought it's due to Jaroussky's faster tempo, the first noticeable difference straightaway. Here, Jaroussky wins my vote.

Les timbres sont tres différents : celui de Jaroussky est plus clair, plus brillant. J'adore Jakub, mais je trouve ici Jaroussky plus expressif, plus de nuances et de virtuosité.
How can Jaroussky sound less boyish, sugary? He cannot change his voice and make it sound masculine. Is it possible for him to turn all his sound technique upside down? He is an accomplished singer but he is on the feminine side, contrary to Orlinski (he did not sacrifice his masculine sound and worked to retain it). Hence Orlinski's popularity and success.
Orliński voice sound very open and fully developed.
