Oh how I miss Clifton’s Cafeteria back in the 60’s after you eat your breakfast ,lunch, or Dinner, you could go up as a child into this wonderful treehouse that had the best area for children to go up into. You could hear the birds they had film about deer and antelope and you could hear all the sounds, and children wouldn’t want to ever leave that treehouse.Oh how I miss being there with my mother and my family. Those were the days I will always cherish them.

The best, most modern, and most exciting place to live in the world in 1946. Think about the work that went into all those buildings, most probably built in just the previous 20 years. And the work that went into keeping those businesses and that city humming. All those people outside at night were in awe of this place...most of them had never seen anything like Los Angeles. My parents were one of them...I have a postcard they saved from that Clifton's Pacific Seas Cafeteria where they ate one month later in June 1946. From their scrapbook!

Amazing remaster! I can't over the high quality of the film. The one thing I noticed is that most of the people were well-dressed. I also noticed the film "The Outlaw" was playing. That was a Howard Hughes film! Lots of Sailors were walking around. This came out when Europe and Japan were in ruins, Truman was the President and the Marshall plan hadn't yet existed. History coming to life--if only for a few minutes! Wow!

What happened to our society? Why do I feel like everything in this video is better than today? Clean streets, elegant people, education, people don't appear to be anxious, frustrated or sad. What happened so wrong with this modernity we live in today? our children are lying around with smartphones in their hands, depressed, anxious and spoiled. I wanted to live in that world portrayed in the video, it doesn't seem like a dystopian world to me. Dystopian is what we live in today, we live in a completely corrupt and immoral society of people, even companies and governments....

The Zoot Suit Riot was CAUSED by criminal Mexicans who "rolled" sailors after a night of drinking. It was a natural reaction. The sailors had enough and went after the Mexicans (including illegals?) after one more robbery one night.
