Pichincha, Quito's very own volcano, is about 4800 meters high and the first destination for Captain Wolfgang and Co-Pilot Anne-Katrin during their two day break. They show us the best lookout points, the original equatorial line and invite us to a short stop at the „Basílica del Voto Nacional", located in the old part of the town.
During the visit of Sisapamba, one of the largest rose farms in the area, Anne's eyes light up as the Mg. Dir. Rodrigo explains the art of growing roses and the differences between the differing varieties.
A breathtaking amount of 90.000 roses leave this farm on a daily basis, to be delivered to all the loving in the world by cargo airplane.

Wonderful to meet this rose farm. In my state (Minas Gerais - Brazil), in the city of Barbacena, we also have many rose plantations and in the city of Holanbra, there are several types of flowers grown, mainly tulips. Cordial greetings from Brazil.

is that right? how far is this from the new airport, I wonder? Quito is a beautiful city and its quite temperate year round even though its on the Equator the elevation moderates the temp from the lowlands that would normally prevail at this latitude. Columbia has similar client in some of their cities as well.

An American aircraft, operated by a German airline, flying freight in to and out of Quito Ecuador, carrying roses for the Russian market... Globalization is what I see in this video. Great example. Thanks.

Indeed, an American aircraft, an example of the Western technology that so far, is a one way affair: Western standards and expertise that must be protected. By the way, did you know that at one time Ecuador decriminalized the theft of technology. Ecuador, on the other hand, a series of economic disasters, and now practically owned by China, propping up its government spending. Roses to the Russian market? One of the most egregious commercial and environmental scandals today: the removal of perfume from flowers. Great videos showing off the professionalism and expertise of Lufthansa pilots; however, they work in an industry rocked and tarnished by the results of commoditization and globalism. Indeed, a great example of globalism -- the dire results of globalism that are increasing as the world's population grows exponentially to unsustainable levels, while globalists stay silent for fear of offending those who may want large families.
Bulletin: Globalism and open borders may sound fine, admirable and cozy for altruists, but unless the countries involved are on a par socially and economically, which is not the case today, it can never work. Globalism today is nothing but a euphamisim for illegal and one-way immigration. As the countries are not on a par, all the flows are just one way, to the better-off countries. Any intelligent person can extrapolate the the ultimate end of such misguided policies: IMPLOSION OF THE BETTER OFF COUNTRIES.
How to lift up the lives of all in the world today is a deep, complex subject, but for damn sure outsourcing, cheap insourcing, trade deficits, open borders, continuous high annual net immigration, one way immigration, mass commoditization of industries with a rush to the bottom are sure as hell not the answers!
Yes, global markets with strong defined borders and rules.

Wäre cool! Aber die wollen damit natürlich auch bissl Geld verdienen. Ist ja auch ein riesen Aufwand. Kann wirklich die Blurays empfehlen. Hammermäßige Filme und hoch interessant.

Wozu? Hier kannst du es dir jederzeit anschauen. Im Fernsehen wärst du an fixe Uhrzeiten gebunden. Das passt schon so. ;-)
