Youâre such a wonderful presenter of technical information. Iâm a seasoned Mac user (30+ years) but your unpatronising explanations are probably the best on CZcams. Iâm surprised youâve not been snapped up by a large media company or even Apple Europe. Thanks for all your hard work behind the scenes and testing the beta models. I am excited about the new features! However, there is one improvement that I wish Apple would've made to messages: the ability to add and remove people from group texts without having to create a whole new group text!
Itâs about time Apple integrated Reminders and Calendar. Been waiting a minute for that to happen.

By far and away the best of these ten features for me is the integration of Calendars with Reminders. This will allow me to view my Reminders in a calendar format which is the one thing that currently can't be done in Reminders and it drives me nuts. Thank you Apple.

One new feature I like in the Notes app is the ability to add highlights in one of several colours. And as for coloured text, IT STILL ISN'T IMPLEMENTED!!! And font selection? Not a chance. These features would bring the iPhone/iPad more in line with the Mac version, and help make the devices Pro in more than just name only.
I seriously canât wait for IOS 18. Although some of these features have been on Android for years, they will be a welcome addition to IOS.
And theyâll be better on iOS than they ever were or are on Android.

The way Apple integrates these features that Android has had forever is the reason why I love Apple. Native app integration, seamless handling of tasks, etc.

I like the idea of an app now for passwords etc rather keychain in settings
Kind of liked that passwords were hidden away where most people didnât even know they were.

I use a very simple Shortcut to power off my iPhone and iPad. The only step in it is Shut Down, but I created a bookmark for it with the icon and color I prefer, and no sliding gesture is necessary: both launching the Shortcut and the confirmation are taps. I can also add it to my Lock Screen if desired.
I am most interested in being able to create routes in maps. Share them save them bring them up maybe modify them. Iâd also like the ability to know which roads are unpaved. Does iOS 18 offer any of these abilities?

Since I recently ditched my iPhone 7 Plus, mostly because some apps stopped supporting iOS 15, I can now use some of your cool tips/tricks on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I know...wait until September...and I may not upgrade right away, as I'm still learning iOS 17. Thanks for the hard work!!

I have the beta version and love every update! You didnât mention the Password app - this is the best app for me because I can separate personal, work, and family password as needed. I no longer have to pay for a third party app.

I LOVE the reminders and calendar integration the most!! Iâm also going to enjoy the text send later feature! I also hate the native email app (I use the gmail app) and saw they are going to upgrade some of it, so hopefully that will be an improvement as well!
It might be cleaner to filter out screenshots from the main view and access all your screenshots in the Screenshots album that is generated.
What I didn't see on the iphone's screen during the Control Center presentation was a toggle for "block unknown callers." That has currently got to be the most annoying omission from Control Center.
Same for unknown / unsolicited emails: how can I block them?
These updates are amazing esp. adding voice recording to the notes. I can't wait to install and use them.

About hidden apps: Can they be accessed via Spotlight rather than opening the folder and tapping them?

Any idea why my phone would be burning hot to the touch at random times while fully (100%) charged WHILE in lockdown mode and not being used?

Off subject: I'm desperate, I have watched videos on how to send pics to android but they dont work on my pro max 14 could you please make a video or let me know how I can get this fixed love your videos.
Are you sending via email or iMessage? Email is basically foolproof but iMessage can be unpredictable when sending to Android. You can try creating a new conversation just between you and the other person before you try again. A lot of this should be fixed in iOS 18 when Apple is adding RCS support. RCS is the improved successor to basic SMS texting (green texts) and until iOS 18 has only worked on Android.

Thanks so much. I always appreciate your videos and your delivery. I'm really happy about Notes and the collapse | expand functionality. I use this A LOT on other software, and it was a deal breaker that prevented me from fully embracing Notes. I wonder if there is any kind of markup way to format text, i.e., like a header. Or is this the only option to navigate to the format button? I find this still a huge drawback that slows down my notetaking. Thanks!
Do the reminders stay on the day in the calendar when youâve clicked them, sort of like a bullet journal? Or do they disappear similar to the reminders app now?

Great video as always. I really am interested in the Mail app updates and whether we can filter spam more easily. I find it hard to believe we canât block users by domain or filter text containing a specific word.
Looking forward to the object removal in photos and improvements in photo editing.
Of course the new AI features too.
I would also move a text spam filter. I hate getting thousands of spam text the day.
Finally got the reminders thing...Crazy that google has had it for YEARS!!! It sucks that Apple is so behind on innovations

What are the four colourful apps on your front page? Are they your focuses? That is a lot of real estate you have dedicated to them.

The last incarnation of safari on MacOS was super slow and buggy, hopefully that has been sorted.

Iâve noticed a difference you didnât mention, at least I donât think you did, I was only half listening whilst doing something else. I have a shortcut to set volume to 50% when I connect my earbuds, but I could never get it to run automatically, I always got a notification and a button to run it manually. Now it works automatically and also reverts to previously set level when earbuds are disconnected. I think there were some other shortcuts which didnât allow automatic running, maybe they will now as well.

Great video! I would love to have a list of all Wi-Fi networks ever joined, so that it's possible to "clean house' at a later time.
Unless I'm missing something, it's only possible to delete a network while it's still selected. Didn't we have this at least on Macs before?
Just think about buying a separate device for Betas :-) Did you check the calculator - should be improved in iOS, too (scientific mode in portrait mode). I am looking forward to your video about iPadOS 18 - I think the Notes feature there are even more impressive (SmartScript). I am curious if it already works or if weâll have to wait for AI to enable it.
I miss the option of split screen so you can have two apps simultaneously on the screen one above the other.
App settings are finally in their own menu. Nothing like trying to help someone with some iPhone setting and theyâre all the way at the bottom of all the apps. Hopefully, remote access will help eliminate the need to walk people through any troubleshooting.
My iPhone freezes at will since IOS17 landed. It's complicated to unfreeze it without initiating an ER call. Any info that gives us hope they will fix this?
The one thing I missed since day 1 has been the ability to automatically select a different EQ setting based on the chosen output. My Bluetooth speaker for instance requires a different EQ then my Airpods or motorcycle helmet speakers. Now I have to change EQ every time I have a different device selected. It would be awesome if iOS would remember which EQ I select for which BT device.

iâm interested if that lock/hidden app is anything like android safe/secure folder. thereâs a lot like about android for specific things but i use an iphone as my daily for actual things and calls and texts. i have a wifi only android tho for other purposes
Theres no AI features on the ios18 beta yet sadly. Eye tracking is cool. I like the messaging changes. Looking forward to the ew camera editing upgrades. Thanks for summarising all the new changes. Love your Channel.
Iâm excited for the reminders integration with calendar. With a few tweaks, I could replace Todoist & Fantastical and save $120 a year. I doubt the stock apps are there just yet though.

Is America the only country on planet earth still using Messenger? Everywhere else, everyone would appear to be using WhatsApp.., unless I'm wrong.
It's true. I'm a Malaysian but I prefer Messages and I will try to insist people who use iPhone to use Messages instead of the bloody Whatsapp.
Here in Philippines Messenger and Viber rule supreme. Sad. Also Facebook is king for pretty much everything else, even for government.
Why is Messenger sad?
@@fbcpraise No end to end encryption. Means facebook and hence anyone who has access that Meta choose has access to your messages. Apart from privacy concerns it means yet more tools for Meta to use for targeting advertising, engagement, training AI et al. You are not so much a customer, rather a product.

Hi in Photos (IOS18) I dropped a folder Into another folder. It wouldnât move back. Tried using another finger to shift folders. IPAd photos closed. iPhone It wouldnât open a space to drop. I submitted in Feedback.
I feel like customising the quick settings panel is making ios feel more like android. More customisation. Idk whether I care tho because I went to ios because I prefer a simple UI.

I really wish I could select all messages sent to or received from an individual at once. There are times when Iâd like to keep the person listed in my message queue but want to delete all their messages. This is true on iPhone and iPad but especially true on the Apple Watch.
If you can add reminders to calendar. Why canât you add reminders to Notes. Seems like a very silly omission

The iOS 18 update says 13/13 pro good to go, but
I also heard that iPhone 13 and 13 pro will not be able to use the advanced AI .
For me, that's a bummer like Microsoft did with Windows 11.
13 is pretty hefty, but not good enough.

I hope the AI upgrade isn't all or nothing, perhaps some of it will work like Siri or whatever.

Agree - It's a feature that makes so much sense, especially with handoff.
If you hold down the back button in Safari, it shows recent history as a list.
But can you sort videos by size?!
As you age your facial features would change. Would facial ID feature adjust as you age?
Is Maps getting any updates at all? I love it as it is except for its integration with Yelp and how it does reviews. Google maps does a much better job with that aspect.
