Can't forget this ad , that after the great explanation this uncle really gets honoured with a tight slap which was completly unexpected ........ LOL ........
This tight slap on the face of the elderly man shocks me to the core every time I watch it on the idiot box..the violence and the force with which the act was done on his cheek makes me react in revulsion and sadness as to what the world is coming to. The disfigurement and the shock on his face due to the slap conveys total disregard to the seniority and dignity of a person. Do we really need to resort to such violence to convey about a product, what are we really conveying to the public through this ad...there are so many positive ways a product can be promoted..I can imagine the youth and the children who watch that ad must feel. Is it so easy to slap an elderly person and get away with it or can we do much more than just slap, maybe physically hurt people to promote our products? The media/television which is watched by maximum no of people is the very tool we need to use for positive and healthy acts, behaviours, thought process and reactions. What we show on it gets imprinted in the minds of people even without actually watching it minutely. Take for instance WWF - I have known people who watch this, even the most timid person gets into the fighting spirit. Such ads are the tip of the iceberg ! They will provoke a violent and physically angry generation which we do not need. We need ads which promote peace, harmony, love, care, kindness, patriotism and secularism. I request the company to immediately withdraw this ad from being telecast.
1.6 million views and only 4 comments shows the real reach of the ad.Seriously , what are you trying to convey to the viewer ?That you'll get slapped if you eat this chocolate ?also if your target customer is indian why have a foreign national eat ? serious waste of ad money..not even sure how the product sales did ..smh
