  • We are onboard Marella Voyager for the first time! Here's a full tour and review of our cabin, 4172, as low down as you can get, aft, and near the engines! I don't like inside cabins at the best of times but is this one going to tip me over the edge?! Let's find out, together! I also look at in-room dining options, how to access water fountains if you don't have a deluxe drinks package and how to get your laundry done!

We were on deck 10 last year and it was really good. Our inside cabin was below the summer rooms and it took me 35 second from too to bar! We did not have any noise from above and we’re were close to the kitchens as well. The view from the stern was fantastic. Get a cabin as high as you can. Inside cabin was enough for us as we didn’t spend in our cabin. I loved the Voyager. Nothing to complain about

That looks fine for an inside cabin. Being a thrifty sort I often choose inside cabins. My view is book two cruises inside for the price of a balcony cabin on one cruise. The shower door rather than a curtain is a big plus. Nice vlog Jamie.

Brilliant vlog Jamie. For an inside cabin it looks quite spacious and I do love the splash of colour. The bathroom looks a decent size and definitely plenty of space im the wardrobes. For a 26 year old ship it looks in a pretty good condition. Look forward to seeing the rest of the vlogs Jamie.

Ah, this cabin is lovely. As a connoisseur in inside cabins (the joys...), this cabin is so bright compared to some others. Also, given the age of the ship, this looks so much more modern than I'd have expected!

Looks nice and would be happy with it. The only issue I can see for some cruisers is the limited number of sockets but there is a way round it. Age of the ship to me is not an issue if it can offer a good sized cabin that is nicely kitted out. My first cruise was on the Island Breeze when it was Thompson and loved my single cabin. Again an old ship but it did the job and it was a time when we would take less gadgets. Just goes to show that younger does not always mean better.

    • @TravelBlogJamie

True - not many sockets - not a deal breaker though (people can at least plan ahead for that). Thanks for your comments!

Thanks Jamie! That looked like a pretty decent size. Loads of storage (poor Mafoo, I bloody jumped when his little face came into shot!!😂) and the bathroom was pretty decent too. Like you, I am not a fan of inside cabins, but if it means going on a cruise with an inside cabin or not going at all, then it’s a no-brainer. We did our first inside and outside cabins this year and they definitely made us stay out longer. We are definitely balcony cabin dwellers - but being inside/outside forced us to stay out later! Which isn’t a bad thing really. Can’t wait for the next episode, we may have to try Marella, esp after your yacht club experience! 😘

We hope to travel on the voyager one day. We’ve done the explorer and loved our inside cabin. I have to say though we usually go for the front! Your cabin looks fine. It looks similar in size to the Explorer, we’d definitely do an inside on this ship. It’s very light isn’t it. Cheers for sharing 🍻

Haven't stayed in an inside cabin for many years, I'm disabled now and require the space for buggy etc, however my favourite thing about an inside was, complete darkness if required 24/7, great for sleeping and the obvious £££ savings😂

Impressive size, as you say! Still cannot bring myself to risk an inside though. I have mild claustrophobia and need to see out, even just a porthole will do. Wise to keep the twin set up for that extra impression of space and ease of movement. Reminds me of my first time on CMV Magellen (ah, gone but not forgotten). The size of the cabin (outside, of course!) really impressed me - older ship again. Compared to cabin on Queen Victoria - much smaller. Give me the oldens any time. The room service menu looked very tempting! I have not tried the joys of room service yet. Having watched you partaking on many(!) occasions, I might treat myself on my December cruise - shock, horror just realised that's only a month away! Oh joy 😮

    • @TravelBlogJamie

Each time I’ve booked an inside cabin I’ve been upgraded to an outside, obstructed view cabin, smaller than your cabin. So if I do book an inside next time I’ll not tick the upgrade button because actually they look pretty good for the money. Maybe I would choose a higher deck mid ships though. Happy cruising.

Yes, I would stay in that cabin. Great storage space. I don't like the connecting door though, and wonder if you had any noise issues with it? Why no mini fridge? :( Did you have any noise from the dining room above you? What I see missing is a proper chair for the desk and a chair for your companion. Great cabin review.

additional comment....I know you like your coffee, so I wonder what you think of the coffee packets ? I'm not a fan of instant coffee, so would probably order coffee from room service. You showed the room service menu with charges, and I wondered if there is a "breakfast morning service" included or not. Thanks

Nice vlog Jamie, the cabin looks very nice and modern, but no way could I stay in an inside cabin,It's got to be a balcony,I understand why some people go for an inside cabin, for their particular reasons.but I need to be able to go out on the balcony and get some fresh air,be it cool or hot outside. My last cruise in September I wasn't very well on our last day,so I wasn't up to going in the restaurant for a meal, and enjoying the last nights entertainment,so I stayed in our balcony cabin and ordered room service,It arrived within 30 minutes and piping hot..And I was so happy I had a balcony door to open and go sit outside for some fresh air,By the way,I tested positive for Covid when I arrived home..

I would love to be able to have an inside cabin, but I might be claustrophobic, when I had Leukaemia they took me to an isolation room, I cried so much they put me on a ward, then the specialist "convinced" (threatened) me that I HAD to go in the room as they couldn't risk me catching anything and that had a window, though it was sealed. So now I'm very weary of booking a cruise, as I couldn't justify the costs other than inside cabins! Any suggestions on the best ships for inside cabins? ❤️

    • @TravelBlogJamie
      @TravelBlogJamie  Před 8 měsíci +1

You can get ‘large’ inside cabins on most ships with extra space - P&O and Cunard have these and so do some of the Marella ships
