- Was it a mistake to do a transatlantic cruise / voyage in an inside cabin? Here's my comprehensive tour and review of cabin 6217 on board Cunard Queen Mary 2 and whether I managed for 6 nights in an inside cabin on a transatlantic from the UK to the USA!

Hi Hamie what a great first vlog of your Transatlantic Cruise, I would definitely stay in this room looks quite spacious 😊, can’t wait to see the rest of the vlogs x
Thank youuuu
Great review. The Mary is the only one of the current Cunard fleet we’ve not travelled on. Just back from Norway on the Queen Anne. Lots of positives, but it does feel a bit crowded compared with the QV and QE. Only 20,000 tons more but 50% more passengers. Same number of lifts as the smaller vessels and the Artisan food hall at its busiest was a bit of a scrum. Bravo to you for opting for an inside cabin. Not sure I could cope with that - just like a window and balcony.
👍👍👍
Love that ypu take your scent diffuser! I totally get it too.
Home from home
Aww, Jamie, you are bringing back many, many happy memories for me. My first ever cruise was solo in an inside cabin on QM2 on a 4 week Transatlantic & New England/Canada voyage on the lovely QM2. She may be a little mature but is so graceful and a joy to travel on. Am back on QM2 in August, but will be enjoying the Grills this time. That first cruise is still one of my all time favourites though. I really hope that despite her quirks and Cunard’s current shortcomings, you have had a super, super time on board.
❤️❤️❤️
Your hair dryer test always makes me laugh 😁. That cabin looks nice and comes really handy like you said when solo traveling. Very sensible 👌👍tip.
❤️❤️❤️
To julie adventures cruise vlogger jamie booked a inside state room for translantic voyage on qm2 0cean liner the biggest disavantage with inside stateroom you have no idea what out side at sea is like and no view of port of call like new york any 1 booking translantic voyage would have stateroom with balcony and b4 you say any thing bout how expensive balcony is if any thing cruise cost decibals more we at home never been on a translatic voyage but we have been on qm2 she is beautiful we only been in a inside cabin once on a cunard ship and never again inside rooms with no windows real small ideal for 1 person then if that person dont mind no window
Great tour Jamie , definitely happy with the inside …we are on QM2 in February for 14 nights ….very much looking forward to it 👍👍👍
Oh I’m jealous!!
@@TravelBlogJamie really enjoying your style of vlogs / reviews ….good humour, paired with solid information and your own take on the subject matter ….keep them coming 👍👍
Get you in an inside cabin....I've always loved an inside for all the reasons you have just said....
Agreed 😉
The breakfast delivery is the best choice of food, and comes hot and fresh! Highly recommend it. We only ate in the buffet once on each voyage, and that was disembarkation day in May and in June. Great cabin tour.
Thank you 🙏
Another great vlog Jamie, you really brighten my day when it's grey outside. Love how cheeky you are - please don't ever change 😊 x
Always been cheeky according to my mum
I absolutely love every video released. Next august my hubby and I will be on Queen Victoria from Barcelona to Rome. It will be out first cruise and we are binging your channel, its so hilarious and useful. Plus I must say your voice is soooo relaxing to me 😊 Lots of love and hugs ❤
Thank youuuuu
Glad you enjoyed the QM2 Jamie - my favorite ship. I am about to embark on my 3rd solo cruise on July 27th - NY to Hamburg. And then Christmas in the Caribbean. Have a single cabin for both. You should check out those. There is so much room, and the singles have a glass enclosed shower (since they were added during a refit) - lol.
Alas they were actually more expensive than this insider cabin!
Have fun!
I am more than happy in an inside cabin, especially if it's rocky as it makes me ill to see it ! 😊 ... that inside cabin looks lush. Thanks Jamie 😊 x
No rockiness on this ship!
Excellent Review Jamie. Love the choices for room service 👌🏻💗
I loved room service ❤️
Jamie, the way that you caress your bed 😳 Have you considered a second career as a ‘prize-stroker’ on a game-show because you’re clearly a natural! 🤭😉
😂True, he is..
Lololol 😂
Even the interiors look plush❤
@@Shello58😂😂😂 lol
Actually the bathroom is well designed for it’s size…
Yes, Jamie, the stateroom does come across as "bloody good" ! The complimentary room service is fabulous, compared to the mainstream cruiselines ! Thank you, Jamie 🚢
❤️
Hi Jamie yes its a great size that cabin its got everything you need and saved money too fantastic I'm going in a inside cabin when I go on Iona in October fantastic video ❤
Thank you 🙏
Great review cabin well equipped.
🙏🙏🙏
Really good cabin, travelling solo you would more than likely be socialising in any case so perfect i would say
❤️❤️❤️
Yes... without a doubt. Looks great.
Agreed 👍
Great review Jamie thank you. Is there a part 2 coming showing the actual voyage please. Love your Vlogs ❤
This isn’t part one of the voyage, this is just a cabin tour! Part 1 is coming this Saturday
@@TravelBlogJamie Thank you Jamie. Looking forward to Saturday then. Thank you for great inside cabin review, I like it. Love ALL your vlogs. Stay safe and thank you. 👍
Morning Jamie x
Morning 🌅
I would love to be able to use inside cabins but terrified of being seasick with no access to fresh air in cabin if feeling ill. I do use stugeron and have crossed bay of Biscay in windy weather in balcony cabin on MSC.
Luckily QM2 is an ocean liner and built for rough seas - I barely felt a thing for the whole crossing
@@TravelBlogJamie how rough was it on your crossing Jamie?
@@marybarnes9898 if you have a look at the vlog I released today of the full experience I film the sea conditions every day and talk through how the ship handles it
@@TravelBlogJamie ok thanks
Great video as always did you organise your own flight back to the UK or through Cunard?
Through Cunard
@@TravelBlogJamie Thanks for the info.
That would be a mistake I would be happy to make. It looks lovely. ( How classy are those bedside lamps btw? ❤️)
They are v nice aren’t they
Would always take an inside cabin if I could cruise more 😊
🥰🥰🥰
Looks very spacious for an inside. Quick question Jamie, the half bottle of bubbly in the fridge, is that only for consumption in the cabin, or are you allowed to take it to dinner?xx
For consumption in the cabin (although I did carry a glass of bubbles out and about with me)
Thanks for confirming @@TravelBlogJamie xx
@@emmaludlow8173 🙏🙏🙏
I also like a cabin/state room to feel like a fridge
lol 😂
i could not do it without a window
👍👍
I wonder how many fall for the 5 bottles of expensive water deal ? 😀
Not me!
Buenos dias!
Buenos días
Hi Jamie where did you buy the magnets from please
I got mine from Amazon.
Amazon
Thank you
Hi jamie your statuea, askes was a translantic a mistake and why should a translantic voyage been a mistake all l say to to you why did you only stay for 1 day at new york having just got of ocean liner queen mary 2 that been us at home we would had stayed in new york til queen mary 2 was due to come back to new york then boarded her to go back home to uk southampton had we been that fortunate
I don’t think you’ve watched the vlog if you’re saying this. I was in New York for 2 days
It looks fine for one but a bit cramped for two?
No I don’t think so
So long as it has a private 1 cheek 2 cheek ra ra ra seat it's all good
lol 😂
Inside cabin for a transatlantic?!
Yes, why not.
Actually, we have crossed the Atlantic mostly in insides because of the cold and mainly expected bad weather in the winter months.
Why pay an arm and a leg for a balcony in November or December?
We prefer to cruise more often per year than spending a lot for a balcony cabin that would mean we can only cruise less.
We are retired by the way and unlucky to not have a goose that lays golden eggs.
Someone had to be in the inside cabin. Why not you?
I didn’t have to be
