DIY Screen Stretcher for well under $100

This is just a (not so) quick video showing my DIY screen stretcher that I threw together with some old scrap wood and some simple hardware.

I built one of your stretchers and it works great. I do use contact cement instead of the glue you use. I also will try stretching the first two sides instead of hand tightened but haven't done this yet. Thanks a bunch. Great design.

I built a screen stretcher based on your ideas. I just finished it yesterday and am loving the results.😀 One variation on mine is a lazy Susan mount, which makes using it very easy.

this is so helpful. thank you. as far as glue goes. you should get the “thin” version of superglue. and also get the accelerator that goes with it. then you will have instant cure of your glue.

Muy buena forma de tensar la malla, antes de tensar con los tornillos, yo le hago una cruz en el centro de la malla de 20 cm y al terminar me fijo cuánto se ha agrandado los 20 cm. Si se agranda un 4% a5% de su tamaño original tiene los suficientes newtons , te felicito muy buena forma de tensar 👍👌

What size is the threaded insert and how exactly do you install it?

Link to all of the hardware is in the description. It has a hex head and you just drill the hole and then screw it in with an allen wrench. Goos luck, hope this works as well for you as it has for me.
