After spending his entire life on display, Jim discovers that they're about to change the exhibit.

But when his cyborg caretakers decide to introduce a female into the exhibit, his world changes forever. As he tries to relate to Caz, a living, breathing woman, Jim discovers that maybe his sheltered life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. After a few chaotic days together, they decide that Caz is going to leave on her own. After she escapes, a lonely Jim is forced to decide whether he has the courage to follow her and face the outside world.

Great mention. That's one part of this story writing I enjoyed. Even though he had access to influences by television, the character Jim wasn't mean, judging or cruel. He had some unrealistic expectations of Caz, and he seemed content if not happy at this stage in his life (in-captivity). He legitimately wanted to share everything he was given (by the cyborgs) with Caz. So much to say. Thank you for your stimulating comment!
This was lovely. I felt sorry for Jim. I honestly thought he was going to remain alone in his goldfish bowl forever. I'm so glad he escaped. He might find it difficult to source food in the beginning, and he might miss TV, but I'm really hoping Jim thrives in the outside world. It was only a twelve minute story, but it left me really wanting to know how he adapts to a life of freedom.
How will he live without TV ???

Well, he needs to find food, water and shelter, and will need firewood to make a fire, so he will probably cut that tree down, then the female will go into a depression for losing the tree and he will get kicked out of there.
He was happy. Watching TV in pajamas, eating TV dinners which are pretty good lately. He had his friends and hobby's. Then suddenly his live changed 🤣🤣
It's become rather fascinating to see how difficult the "Throwback Thursday" concept is for some people to understand.
I remember when we had nothing but re-runs all summer long -- and we had to watch those while walking 11 miles to school, uphill both ways! 😁
My thoughts are that DUST isn't getting enough new submissions to justify their current schedule. I don't mind watching these again, but I'm not sure DUST deserves the views for re-posting old material. I believe the creators should get the lion's share of the revenue from the views.
@@daniel_wilkinson As I think I suggested some time ago, the material included in the channel makes up a huge library of little science fiction gems. A library that will outlive us. The dreams, visions, predictions, hopes and fears of the different filmmakers cover an extensive number of short film productions that Dust is responsible for compiling. And just as you don't go to a library just to read the new books, the channel cleverly plays its role of promotion and consultation.

@@thaska6106 It's a library all right, but a library of garbage with a few diamonds sprinkled in. Unfortunately you have to wade through a mountain of trash to find a good one.
It doesnt matter what Jim and her do beyond this story. What matters is that you keep turning out little gems like this. Well done!

that would be nice. but probably you need to go most of the way towards cultural participation. it's surely woth it!
maybe try cartoons for your learning routine, no need to memorize word-by-word, usage is always in context and you get tons of contact with the language.

Excellent movie. Loved the characters and interactions. This could be expanded upon with another. Prequel and/or Sequel.
You could feel emotion of the actors portrayed.

What I thought were rocks were actually huts, so there is a small community of humans living away from the A.I.
The A.I. captured the female from there.
It was easy for them to escape as the A.I. did not think they would want to leave what they believed was the ideal human habitat.

So nice! Fresh idea, really anxious in some parts, and Jim was the cutest! Though I just feel like this would have been perfect with some more background explanation.
I do have a few questions: What are the cyborgs? Assuming that Earth now is populated only by those humanoid machines, like in the ending of A.I., are all the remaining humans like Jim chased and abducted? Was Jim created in a lab or was he abducted as a kid?

like, how many humans live out there? what are the others, robots? metahumans? (i tend to say robots, but i'm not certain why they would mimic humans to the point of inefficient data collection. maybe for the "individual experience"?)
what is the meaning of the movie? criticism of zoos? warning that we will some day endanger ourselves?
like always, i would like to even pay for seeing more, but any continuation of the story is up to our own minds.
