How To Cook A Pork Roast - The Hillbilly Kitchen

  • A pork loin makes a tender, juicy roast. Currently, you can buy one for as low as $1.69 lb. and for that price you can afford to buy enough to freeze and put away for later. With a pork roast you can feed your family a real meal cheaper than you can feed them a hot dog.
Whenever we're looking for something different to eat to break the monotony of common, everyday food, I pull out a pork roast from the freezer that I had vacuum packed and frozen at an earlier time. I can easily heat it up and add some carrots and potatoes to make a delicious supper.
The pork loin I used in this video was 12 lbs. I cut it into two 4 lb. roasts and 9 center cut pork chops. I froze three 2 lb. roasts, we ate one 2 lb. roast for dinner and I froze all of the pork chops. All of that for about $20.00!!
    Ingredients:
    Pork Loin
    2 Tablespoons - Lemon juice
    2 Tablespoons - Real honey
    Onions
    Potatoes
    Corn starch
    Salt and pepper

I made this last night and boy was it delish. I mixed the honey and lemon and spread over the roast. I used salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder, too. Thank you for the tip with checking the roast doneness with a fork. I baked it longer and it was so tender. Today I shredded the leftovers and added bbq sauce and we had sandwiches. Becky, you are God sent. Blessings❤️✝️🙏🏻

Will be sure to try this pork roast. Pork is my husband's favorite meat. Praise God for your stance on God's Law. You are correct that so many preachers today aren't preaching the truth and are politically correct. They are dumb dogs that cannot bark. Love my food saver, found a pork shoulder roast a few weeks ago that had been buried since 2016, nearly 5 years ago. Cooked it in the slow cooker and it was as good as a fresh one. Getting all the air out virtually eliminates freezer burn. I agree with your views on divorce. My wife died almost 2 years ago about a month after our 53rd anniversary. We had good times and bad times but vows said were for better or worse, not until one of us wasn't happy and we stuck it out. It's getting easier but I still miss her every day.

I am trying this recipe out just today. I subbed also. Because I see a bunch of good recipes I wanna make. I am a divorced male who is learning to cook all over again. I hope I don't screw this up. It really looks like I can do this by myself. A new friend of mine is encouraging me to cook for myself. Instead of eating out or doing simple things to just get by. She wants me healthy and for me to be around for a long time. I am taking her advice. Thank you so much for giving us all of these recipes. I am gonna try some and see how I manage to do. I found your channel completely by chance. I am glad I found it too. I will let you know how it turns out. I don't mind telling you I am 57 yrs old and I am nervous LoL

i absolutely loved how you use your talents-cooking, as a platform to preach the good news. I stumbled upon this by accident-listening to a sermon I all of a sudden felt the urge to learn how to make a great pork roast. Now i know how to make my roast come out tender and savory. And i must say i'm very impressed. But i am also impressed by the fact that you used this youtube channel and you used your talents to speak to about people the word of God in a time when we so desperately need to hear truth. I want to do the same-take up a skill and use that skill to glorify God and tell people about Jesus. As a stay at home mom of 4 little kids (4 and under) i can get discouraged that i'm not really making an impact for the body of Christ as a whole. I stay at home, cook, clean and take care of kids all day everyday. But your using your expertise as a way to reach possibly thousands with the truth. So i got double benefits from watching this-learned how to make roast as well as how to use to talents that God has given you to glorify him. Way to Go!

    I. Love all the recipes and advice and instruction for years of all those recipes. This is the only one I might mention to new cooks to seal the tin foil completely and fir a roast of 5 to 10 lbs -dont peek! Makes sure tin foil is sealed and cook for 4 hours add vegetables last hour. I take it out and drain off liquid but 1/2 cup prefeat oven to 450 to 500 brown / crisp up fat. I cook eat side up. Throw left oversee in crock pot with barbeque sauce and little brown sugar or coke or root beer and turn it into pulled pork
Cook to 160 for a sliceable roast 190 for melt in your mouth..

what a tip! I actually have 2 vacuum sealers, brand new, as wedding presents back a few years ago, never even opened up! I wrongfully thought that they would go in the fridge for long term saving, but as I don't keep much stuff in the fridge, I never even got to use them. Never thought about frozen vacuum food... Now I'd better empty my freezer and the new stuff I put inside, even cooked food, put it away in a vacuum. Let's try! Thanks for the tip!

Thank you 😊 I vacuum seal cooked meat and freeze it all the time. I almost never freeze uncooked meat. I took advantage of the Christmas heat wave and grilled 34 hamburgers, vacuumed them 2 per bag and put them in the freezer. Two minutes in the microwave, in the bag and they are hot and taste like they just came off the grill. Happy New Year!

Love pork loin roast. We use the leftovers to make Posole (simple Mexican soup with hominy - not overly spicy).

Thank you for this pork recipe and as a lifelong 70 yr old Catholic man, I TOTALLY agree with you on the problems going on with the Christian religions. God bless you!

I'm an atheist and a chef. I love your channel. Great job, understanding one another is more beneficial than pushing our beliefs on others. Which I appreciate that you do not do. I wish you the best

So glad I found your channel! You are so real and I love that! Also, you believe like I do and you cook like I do! My Momma taught me how to cook and it's one of the greatest gifts she could have given me...that, and to love Jesus and serve Him! God bless you sister in Christ!❣😀👍❤❤
