Perjury is an actual crime for which you need a lawful sentence. Not just a slap on the wrist and monetary punishment.
The law takes time. Everyone wants this done now, but that's just not how things actually work.

Perjury is hard to prove, and -- you'd actually have to be accused (as in charges filed) for perjury, have a full fledged hearing (if not a trial) w/due process, etc., and honestly, it would be hard to prove *beyond a reasonable doubt* that he wasn't referring to Cohen. Much easier to ratchet up the consequence each time he violates the gag order, and there WILL be a next time. And then a next time after that....and honestly, he'll likely commit a clear cut and more significant act of perjury in the coming months.
We will have to start calling him Stormy Donald.

This is why penalties and fines for individuals should scale based off of their net worth/income. 10,000$ to him isnt even a minor inconvenience most importantly a deterrent which is the point of a fine. If I only had to pay 10 dollars if i violated a gag order... why not..

Last week I heard a court transcriptor say in an interview that they don't think about what they write as that would be a waste of time. They write first, then read what they wrote and go "Donald Trump said what?!" Yep, he was found to have engaged in persistent fraud. The judge ordered that his, the kids, and a couple of the henchmen lose their NY business licenses. They can't do business in NY and the companies' assets are to be dissolved. That's on hold pending appeal. This part determines the disgorgement of illegal profits.
They asked for dismissal because the key witness cohen, perjured himself and admitted that trump never asked for anyone to inflate his numbers.
Also you can’t be found guilty before a trail. That’s what the trail is for.
