      Aldryn - hey, I've always loved the classy cases you designed and market. Have you ever considered a mid-sized case that would hold a DJI Mini model + Controller? Or possibly a DJI bag replacement but with the quality & style of your smaller individual component bags? Or.. go full on with shoulder bag with individual "component bags"? I guess I'm getting expensive quick here, both cost to design, manufacture but sales pricing. Still, would be some high end gear protection!

    Nice. Can you store the filters in something smaller on hikes?

    • @JakeSloan
      @JakeSloan  Před 3 měsíci

      not that I have found but you probably could put them in something like a soft case for memory cards etc

    Good stuff! I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the Mini 4, I've been goofing around w/ gopro's for a bit but this will be my first drone. Do you have any recommendations for shopping local, I'm here in Anchorage.

    Good primer on Accessories. I found the soft/shoulder bag DJI used for Mini 4 Pro to be WAY too snug. I have a SYMIK Multi-layer Hard case for travel, and use a Mavic Air 2 case I had still for lightweight hikes. Its 2 inches wider, a little taller and PERFECT for M4P. (We can finally use an acronym without confusing Mini 3 Pro/Mavic 3 Pro drones)
    JAKE: Did you get the wide angle adapter yet? I finally found one in stock somewhere. I have GNDs, an occasional use "Star" (scored lines on glass)
    Polar Pro and Freewell have yet to update "FX" sets with Mist, Goldmorphic, Bluemorphic (sic) filters. All good for single establishing/reveal shots, at best, but can add a quick, different look/effect.

      I haven't grabbed the wide angle lens adaptor yet, I keep debating about whether I want one or not lol. In the filter pack I show here freewell does include a mist filter!

    Freewell have 2 variable f stop ND filters which replaces 9 filters with 2. Not sure if they are new or not but I just bought them.

    Why do you think DJI skipped the ND32 in their small set? I don't get it. They have a 16, 64 and 264. Do you think they feel there's not enough difference between 16 and 64 that makes it worthwhile?

    • @JakeSloan
      @JakeSloan  Před měsícem

      @@JakeSloan To each is own. Shorter is better. Closer you are the more control you have over everything this applies with everything in life. Example. Microsolding you want to be as close as you can for more control. # 2 Dr's dont use a 8 inch scalp to make cuts. can give you more example if you want. But the closer you are to something the slow and more control you have. If you like and have control better with larger sticks then you be you and enjoy your larger sticks.

    • @LennertK
      @LennertK Před 6 měsíci

      @@haxxorsheep I would agree that if the object you're holding pivots around your hand/fingers (such as a knife, a soldering iron, a pencil, etc) you're going to want to hold it as close to the edge as possible to be as stable and precise as possible (if the distance is larger then each movement gets exaggerated and thus less precise).
      However in the case of a remote or a joystick, you're rotating the stick around the pivot point somewhere in the controller. In that case, a larger stick will not diminish stability, but instead work the opposite way. It will allow more travel to achieve the same degree of movement, allowing for more precision and more granular control. You will however need to push the top of the stick further away to achieve the same amount of input.
      In the end, it is like you're saying, personal preference, it's not like there are rules as to what you are allowed to use. I have even used the controller once without sticks as I had forgotten them, but that was quite rough, not recommended.

      @@JakeSloan is right here. Longer DOES give you more precise control. Your movements are more forgiving. You have less risk of ruining your shot and overshooting a movement. It takes bigger movement to move the drone the same amount as it would with a shorter stick, thus, less risk of messing up.
