Usually I travel pretty budget, but this time I treated myself to a fancy capsule room! Still lowkey want that automatic bed to help me wake up...😴

I've got an alarm for deaf people that vibrates my bed. I'm deaf in one ear, so if i'm sleeping on my good side, i can miss regular alarms. The moving bed things sounded quite nice

The editing was really good on this one! Capsule hotels seem so cozy, but idk I think I need atleast one window or else I'd get claustrophobic after a while.

Nice, stayed there in 2019 before they had the projectors, but even then it was very nice and quiet. Walkable to the Gion area and a couple of train stations too. Good way to cross "capsule hotel stay" off your bucket list without feeling as cramped as the normal ones make you.

YES! Millennials is great! Was there last week and it was the easily the best place we stayed on the trip, cool vibe, super comfy and in a good spot in Kyoto, was only $60AUDpp a night for us (non-projector+ off-peak ?) plus free beer! What more could you want!

At first I thought it was kind of expensive, but considering how nice the common areas are, plus the free drink and brekkie - that's kinda awesome!
Normally capsule places don't have the best spacious common areas, so doing online work means I'd go to a starbucks or cafe and end up spending too much on snacks and drinks anyway. And the same for a hotel that costs less - you don't often get a big spacious common area to work in.

I’m not saying growing up surrounded by English expats in South America gave me a definite impression of your home country, but I was genuinely surprised - dismayed, even - when you said “No, no, I’m not gonna get drunk!” I pinned all my childhood hopes for adulthood on meeting fun Australian women … don’t you dare dash that child’s dreams!!
That said, clearly you’re fun regardless, those English people making fun of Australia actually sucked(*), stereotypes suck, I’m getting a ton out of your videos (I’ll be in 大阪 for the World Expo, so your guide on things to do there was especially inspiring!), and I’m particularly impressed that anyone can achieve such fluency in Japanese without having been born and raised in Japan. I kinda envy your job there, too. Honestly you seem to be doing everything right!
So please don’t mind my surprise. It’s just interesting the extent to which a near-forgotten childhood misimpression will remain with a person for life!
(*)Although there is one Dave Allen joke about Australia that I’ll always love, please forgive me: he’s traveling to Australia for a show, so he lands at the airport and goes through customs, and the border agent asks “Name?” and Allen replies “Dave Allen” and the agent asks “Occupation?” and Allen says “Performer” and the agent asks “Business or pleasure?” and Allen replies “Business” and the agent asks “Criminal record?” and Allen replies “Is one still required??”

Definitely a step up from most capsule hotels I have seen, but not sure how you got any sleep without earplugs. Still, it looks like a great spot for a solo traveler.

The lounge/kitchen areas are amazing! Yeah, there are definitely less expensive capsule hotels but the amenities really make up the price. That bed is next level. I live in California, though, so if my bed moved to wake me up I would just think it was an earthquake. Lol!

    I am Japanese.
Once a year, I stay at a capsule hotel called "Apesee" in Imaike, Aichi Prefecture. There is also a huge public bath there.
Izakaya -> Yakiniku -> Ramen (there is the main branch of Misen, the most famous restaurant in Aichi Prefecture) -> BAR.
I think that's the highest form of Japanese bliss, where you get drunk and go to the public bath and then just go to sleep.
