Really easy pattern to follow but the measurements are off. I have a golden with a 20” neck so I added the 10” for a tie bandana and did it 13” wide so it would turn out to be 12” with seam allowance. I tried it on him and there’s just and I mean just enough tie for it to loosely fit. So I would add an additional 5” at least to any collar length measurement for a large dog for this pattern. The width I choose is perfect for a large dog I think, the 7.5” your measurements gave would have been tiny on him. I wouldn’t be able to make this exact pattern for friends or family because there’s not enough extra tie length left over for a dog’s neck size that I don’t know the exact size for

thanks for the feedback - we tried it on the yorkie and the german shepherd and found the measurements worked but a little more is never a bad thing for a large dog. I'll add your suggestion to the blog post - appreciate it.

I’m making gifts for my friend’s Labradors and can’t measure. I’m cutting it 30” wide and 15” deep.
      Is that too big?

With my measurements I’d be 35” wide by 13” deep. This way it can be rolled if it’s too long down the neck (so the depth part). And having extra room to tie is never a bad thing

@@RunYourDog thank you for responding so quickly! I was just about to cut into them. These guys live in Canada so one side is fleece and the other is cotton, haha. Thanks again and Merry Christmas!
