boxed corners!
Thank you. I have purchased this tape. Never used it…this explains it clearly. Will try again..🧵🧵🧵✂️✂️
tricky at first but a time saver once you figure it out. Good luck!
I made the 9 inch basket today. It was so easy. The tutorial is excellent. I used pumpkin fabric because Autumn is just around the corner.
These would be great for all the season and because they are flat and floppy they will be easy to store. I need to make one for fall too - great idea!
👋👋 what an awesome idea ❤❤
and a great time to do it and save money - win-win!
I use both
great minds pin & clip alike!
Oh My Goodness! I love everything about this. I have a dear friend who teaches 2nd grade, I plan to ask if the classroom needs kits like this. And I also plan to make a variety of different kits to put in a treasure chest that our Grands (now Great-Grands) pick a treasure from every time they come to visit. You have the best ideas, thank you so much for sharing.
Love the treasure chest idea! So many fun things you could put in there. 🥰
What a wonderful and generous idea!
My goal is to spread creativity into the world! 🥰
What do you think? Will you make some creativity kits or put other things inside the boxes?
❤
Beautiful. Best of all no stress cutting exact measurements.Just following your creativity for colors, shapes and sizes of your panels, and quilt. My idea of perfection!! Hand stitched quilts are my preference.
Happy to be whatever kind of inspiration you need - especially no stress! 🥰
I just made this! Thank you so much!
Nice! I love mine - whatever will I do with the time I used to spend searching my bag?? 😂
@@ArtistTaraReedI just went ahead and batched 8 more to give my family & friends in their stockings.
Panda bears❤
Omg thx so much… I’ll be making these for my grand baby that’s on the way
Congratulations! These are perfect for new babies! 🥰
I use both, depending on the project.
The right tool for the job I always say! (When my husband asks why I have soooo many tools😂)
Both, and for clips, I use binder clips. I already had a ton of them at home, so it made sense to use them.
Use what you have - always a good idea!
Thank you for sharing your experience, wisdom and insight. Personally I use both pins and clips, just like you it depends on the project-one or two projects I actually use both clips and pins m. And my favorite, most reached for clips are the Clover mini clips with the narrow precision tips, however the regular sized ones do have there uses and honestly, I have even tried the humongous ones, but have only found them to useful a couple times.
I use those big ones when I'm connecting binding on a quilt or quilted project. You can see them in action in this video > czcams.com/video/R5qoizMjD_o/video.html
@@ArtistTaraReed thank you 🤗❣️
Great demonstration Thank you !
you are very welcome!
I use both!
me too! (as I said 🤣)
Pins…. Because I quilt
makes sense!
I tried to print the stocking, but it would not come up...
do you have pop-up blockers on? This links open new windows...
@@ArtistTaraReed
@@ArtistTaraReedhow do I get the stocking pattern?
@@grammyk1 ✂ Get the free Christmas stocking pattern template 👉🏻 bit.ly/3MOYZsO - all of the links are in the description and you need to make sure you don't have pop-up blockers on as they open a separate window.
Thank you!!
You are very welcome!
First you showed pinning on the inside but when you started sewing, the pins are on the outside.
I believe I flipped it over to do the other side? Sorry if I didn't say it - do whatever works the best for you
You mean " Charm Pack " ?
“Charm Pack” is actually a term trademarked by Moda fabrics - Riley Blake calls their square precuts stackers. It’s like Kleenex becoming the common term for tissue even tho it’s a brand name. Same thing for “jelly roll”
@@ArtistTaraReedI've never heard stackers before. Cute.
@@patfaulkner2069 yep - have to stay on the right side of the law for trademarked words! 👩🏻⚖
I’m making these for homeless people. A church donates toiletries once/week and needs 20 bags per week. I’d like to have fun cotton fabrics to give to them. Thank you SO much for this easy video
What a wonderful project ❤
Can you add a pocket...my granddaughter uses them for reading only and has them on a lanyard around her neck i though of putting a pocket to hide the lanyard when not it use
I love the simplicity of this and you explain things so well. Could you give the details of the batting you initially used, mentioned at the beginning of the video. I would like to make a thinner one for my first attempt.
I just used a scrap of cotton batting I had left over from a quilt - you can use any kind you like.
I’ve 2 grand dogs! One of each gender…lots of fun holidays! Thank you for sharing!!!
@@lesa6399 you’re so welcome -have fun! 🧵🐶
In my home, I would go with the more sophisticated deeper red & green, no littles to run around my house who would appreciate the more traditional brighter red & green. The vintage pink & green would be perfect if I were hosting a Sorority gathering as they would be in our colors! Table runner or placemat
Nice! Love the idea of doing colors for a sorority, high school, etc too - whether they are "Christmas" colors or not.
To long to get things started
Not sure what you mean - steps in the video? I always include chapters or markers in the description if you want to jump ahead to specific topics if you want to skip materials, etc.
Where do I get the teplate
I just added the links to the description but I assume you want the bib templates: Get the free templates 👉🏻 bit.ly/3LZnRyq (it opens a new window so pop-up blockers need to be off) or Buy the printer friendly pattern and templates on Etsy 👉🏻 sewwithtarareed.etsy.com/listing/1435257314/
How will you use this block? Quilt, table runner, placemat, gift bag, other?
My dog goes to a doggy gym every Friday and she loves everyone there. Last year I made leashes for all the pets owned by the staff (about 20). This year I want to do something different and your tutorial is my inspiration for making bandanas. I really appreciate all the detail as you covered things I may not have thought about. Thanks so much.
What an amazing gift! 🥰🐶
Wow great idea about food grade plastic - would never of thought of cereal bag!!!
Friend who makes these gave me that gem of a tip!
Which is thinner batting or foam
Batting is thinner 👍🏻
Thank you 🙏 so much for teaching I’m a adult and I need something like this it was a great 👍 idea 💡 it will be great gifts for my family and friends 😃
You’re so welcome! Freezer pops all around for your friends and family with no frozen fingers! 🎉
How would pinking shears work well!
I love them for curves - faster and easier than lots of little snips. But if you prefer to do individual cuts you certainly can!
This is exactly the tutorial I needed! Thank you <3
You are very welcome! I’ve since learned that if you starch your fabric first it will fray less -it’s on my list of videos to do but thought I’d let you know 😉
Do you microwave the cover too? If so how does the velcro work in microwave?
I do and have never had any issues. I have another with plastic buttons I’ve used for years too
🍼 What other sewing tutorials would you like to see for baby? LMK!
Hi Tara, it’s me we were talking about those tube turners. I actually found another video that showed how to so both ends close and still be able to turn it. I’ll send it to you on the other video. But what I wanted to talk about is there was a new story not too long ago talking about the harm we are facing with those plastic bags that cereal comes in. So you may want to rethink doing that crackle toy, and you can search obviously on the Internet to find out about those cereal bags something about chemicals in the plastic leaching into our Foods.
I was just hearing about the plastic in those pre-portioned laundry and dish detergent pods too 😵💫
@@ArtistTaraReed seems anywhere you turn these days. It’s always something. And my friend this is off-topic well it’s on topic with your video. My friend gave me about almost 30 yards of flannel and I wanna make those bibs. Do you think flannel on both sides will be OK I’m already making some receiving blankets with them. I have two neighbors that are having babies.
@@dcwatashi Flannel would work but I don't think it would be as absorbent as the towels on the back.
@@ArtistTaraReed darn. I’m on a tight budget.
@@dcwatashi I think it will still work - just not as well. People make bibs with cotton on both sides so flannel is a step up above that!
Great video, you explained everything perfectly.
Thank you - happy sewing!
Love this for its simplicity and speed. Guilty admission....I made a rag quilt for my two-year-old greatgrand and his five-year-old big sister asked "What are you making for me?" I have made many things for her in the past and it was her little brother who got neglected during Covid. But of course she doesn't understand that! So I'm making her a hooded swim towel and she won't understand how easy it was compared to the quilt. Now that I see how easy it is will probably make more for other grands and great-grands.
Sounds like the adorable “what have you done for me lately?” Of a 5 year old! I’m sure she will love the beach towel, as will the others! Happy sewing!
FYI ------ The "Heat Erasable" pens, show up again if the item gets cold. So you know.
Yes - recently did an “egg on my face” video about that. Thx for making sure I knew!
I use my cozy for individual cheese dips on nachos night I sew extra smalls
That’s a great idea! 😋
Thank you!
You’re very welcome! Making anything specific?
I've never made a skinny tube. This makes it look so easy.
Definitely the easiest way but still trickier than larger ones like apron ties!
You’re welcome 😀😀 When I am making ties for a cushion for example I like one end to be closed that’s the issue with this method. You would think the manufacturer would have the courtesy to put out a video showing how to use all three. There is a CZcams channel and I think it’s called notches Sewing and she shows a few different methods because I don’t think she has those tube turners
😂 I couldn’t find a video (I’m sure you searched too) of get the fabric in that small tube at all! So string and then folding it in and sewing an end closed seems like the best bet - especially to keep your sanity!
@@ArtistTaraReed this is one of them czcams.com/video/R85F-zhNA2g/video.htmlsi=k6BxiqLy1S6CqQxb Doesn’t take much these days for me to lose my sanity 🤪🤪
