- This is a trick I learned while working on some ranches. I noticed all the cowboys used this trick on their saddles and soon adopted it on mine. I normally keep 4 to 8 saddles at a time and this trick has saved me in several situations and simplified my life in regard to keeping spare parts.
Great tip! I wish I had known this last year, my latigo broke and I had to walk back home 3 miles.
Sounds good but i wish your cameraman was in closer so i could see what you were pointing at.Also what about first time western riders?Maybe they needed to see closer to check it out...just saying.
Good idea. My off side leather is really thick but the adjustment is limited. Would be more symmetrical to use Latigo.
WORKS FOR ME😊
Definitely a great tip with great reasoning!!!
Good advice, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Yep, good idea!
One time l was riding my horse up a steep creek bank he flounderd , fell on his left side down hill .could get him up , so l unbuckled the back cinch and cut the off billet at the cinch ring , got the saddle off and he was able to get up . Luckily l had one hole left in the billet to rerig my saddle and get home. Moral of the story... always carry a sharp knife!
I run a halfbreed off billet! They are awesome!
What is a half breed billet????
Latigos are the only way to go.
Great video. Seems like only colt starters do this. I keep my colt starting saddles rigged the same way.
Good common sense thanks
Excellent !
Reason number four: If your horse developed a cinch gall you can center fire your cinch through the back D and get your cinch off of the gall!
That’s a great idea! I’ll add that next time I explain it at a clinic! Thanks for the great info!
Iwe check our gear nealy each time we saddle up , thanks for the tip though.
Only holes you can fit your tongue into😂
