Exposing India's Begging Scams (Beware!)

  • Have you come across these begging scams? Not all beggars are genuine; I expose 3 fake beggars in this video so you know what to avoid when you travel to India. The most common begging scams I've come across are the Ranipur calamity fake charity scam, fake medical bills scam, and fake donation collectors.
These scams can happen anywhere in India. Begging scammers commonly target tourist areas, busy intersections, expensive parts of cities, and railway stations. If you meet any of them, just say "no" and keep walking. Don't fall for their lies. These are professional beggars who are trying to trick you into donating money to a fake cause.
If you want to give to beggars, you need to verify their story. If approached by a beggar who claims to be in a dire situation, exercise caution. Ask questions and evaluate their responses. Genuine individuals in need might provide coherent and consistent explanations.
Trust your instincts too. If something feels suspicious or doesn't seem right, trust your gut instinct. It's better to err on the side of caution and refrain from engaging with potential scammers.
Spread awareness: Share information about begging scams with friends, family, and your community. Increasing awareness about these scams can help protect others from falling prey to fraudulent schemes.

If I say a number which they are expecting, they show you that they have correctly predicted the number as they wrote it on the paper. They might ask you one more question, like, name a milk giving animal or a garden flower. This is a simple psychological trick where most people, Indian at least, will choose cow or rose for those questions. Then they show you that they predicted correctly, and on that paper itself, will be an amount written. Like 1100 or 3100 and they will ask you to pay them that much amount.
If you give an answer which is different from what they've written, they will just shamelessly ask you to guess again and again and again 😂

I'm a very sensitive one, I would be guilt tripped into giving by just standing there and looking at me in a sad way.
I know there are so many scammers, but I always think of those who legitimately have to beg in order to survive. There are indeed children begging, I'm sure you know.😢😢
And now, HOW can I see it. I mean, genuine beggars also sometimes tend to pressure, depending on how their day went.
Anyways, prayers for all of you out there. ❤️🙏

I was visiting a temple and I was surprised to see a bunch of beggars there too, no parents or anything, most of them were just children or literal babies yet they go around begging people walking by for money, they'll even go as far as to follow you for ages until they get something.
