    After our walk around the town of Soller we made our way down to the port.
    We were going to catch the tram, but there were lots of people waiting to get on and it looked like standing room only, so we made our way back to the bus stop.
    This year the tram is 9 euros one way, which seems a lot to e for such a short journey and a big jump in price from the last time we caught it. Interestingly, the taxi ride to the port is advertised to be 10 euros! However, we didn't see any taxis! For us the bus is free and the service is good.
    We had our tapas lunch in the restaurant of the Fergus hotel, which we both enjoyed.
    Thanks for watching.

    My wife and I were regular visitors to Soller and its port for 12 years and we stayed 3 or 4 times a year throughout all the seasons. Sadly, she died at the end of January 2020 and then Covid hit. I missed a couple of years during lockdown but now I visit at least once a year and will be there in July. I have friends who live permanently in Soller but although I can stay with them I prefer to rent an apartment in the port and avoid the stairs in their apartment block! Thank you for two very good videos which always bring back lovely memories for me and I’m looking forward to my upcoming visit in not too many weeks time.

    So thrilled that you got down to the port. I totally agree that 9 euros per person each way is crazy, but they charge it because they can. The trams are pretty much always full. How can anyone forget your a over t incident, it amazes me that neither you nor your camera ended up in the water.

    Thank you for the video. It brought back memories for me as I stayed there on a walking holiday staying at a small hotel on the other curve of the bay - the one you didn’t walk on. We explored into the hills, and on one day the guide had to arrange a coach back, as the boat we were due to catch was cancelled due to rough seas - on a perfect late April day! My daughter and family visit most years staying at the Esplendido before going to the other side of the island. The hills around that area Deya, Valledemossa (?spelling) are picturesque and can be reached by bus. Well worth a trip. Thank you for sharing this.

      It was a good game to watch, but we were on the edge of our seat. At the end everyone was waiting for the Cadiz result.

    A lovely day out, and lunch looked good. I do agree, the train and tram are very expensive but I suppose you have to do it once for the experience. Thanks Steve and Anita.

      I think 9 euros each way is a bit of a rip off

      @@SteveandAnitainMallorca totally! I'm not tight but it's taking the mick! it was 8.50 last year. If you are mobile it's nicer to walk as you pass some amazing properties...as shown in your video! it's not far maybe 2 miles from our hotel on the front to the centre of soller.

    Lo bonito del paseo es la playa y el mar.
    Las tapas, si las comparamos con el menú del día, no son baratas.
    Gracias, Steve y Anita.

      It looked all closed down. Thinking about it. I seem to remember someone telling me that they had closed. It's a shame, we liked going there

    So our chances of getting the train down during July might be a bit difficult 🤔

    • @SteveandAnitainMallorca
      @SteveandAnitainMallorca  Před 2 měsíci +1

      It will depend on the day and the time. We were there on market day, Saturday, which is alway going to be busy. They do put extra trams on as well.
