The feedback on that video was that her whisper quiet voice was too low and that some of the other clips were not as relaxing as it could have been. If you ask us, this footage was hands down one of the best medical exam ASMR videos we’ve encountered so far so we knew we have to make a re-edit! The serene environment where this video was shot is sure to trigger ASMR tingles and is a great sleep aid. I watch this one on mute for some reason. Other ASMR videos I only listen to I don't watch. It all depends on the video to me.
For people who seem to be confused as to what is going on in this video - this is a soft tissue technique called Bowen Therapy. It is not a medical exam and practitioners do not need to be medically trained. Like other soft tissue work such as massage, it posits that physical touch instigates an innate healing response. This is well-researched and documented for similar modalities. There has not been much research on Bowen as it is a lesser known technique. However, there is a lot of crossover between many soft tissue techniques, with Bowen simply being one approach. It involves gentle stimulation of the fascia, making it useful for people who struggle with chronic pain or high sensitivity who may not be able to handle deep tissue work. When the practitioner pauses here, that is part of the Bowen protocol, not that she is confused about what to do next. I am a physiotherapist who has also trained in a variety of complementary techniques, including Bowen. I have found it can have profound results for people with chronic, multi-faceted conditions, something which traditional medicine and physio tends to struggle with.

Im definitely game! I like alternative treatment for pain.
Not buying the physical aspect of this I believe it's 100% phycological healing for the patient but that, in and of itself can be extremely powerful and have transformative physical results.

I agree that if the subject gets some therapy from it, then good for them. It's not medical at all. It's quackery and they are fleecing them for cash, but hey, each to their own. I think most of the people that 'benefit' from these sessions and feel the 'power' etc are just feeling ASMR but they don't know its ASMR. There needs to be open 'ASMR therapy sessions' so everyone knows what's actually going on.

The body obviously does know how to repair itself, so I'm willing to buy that our body can subconsciously diagnose problems it's having. I'm not willing to buy these quacks claiming they can access and interpret this information in the silliest ways possible.
Well in a way we know it does. For example when it sends white blood cells to an infection site it kinda "diagnosed" that we did have an infection. Same for when it starts producing sweat because we're overheating. The body is very good at detecting problems and trying to fix them. It's not always successful, and thankfully we have medicine and are always making progress in that field, but it's trying its best. But then there are lots of people who take that idea and run absolutely wild with it...
