- I used an inflatable pillow from Intex Excursion Pro for this experiment. That's the kayak that 's most likely to have holes of this type.
But pretty much all flat water kayaks are made of pretty similar materials, and I think that this test is relevant for vast majority of them. - Sport

my intex k2 explorer got a small cut-hole on the floor bottom, i used the patch that came with the kayak kit (i think), and it's held up really well so far after several more outings :)
(i got the cut-hole from an oyster bed i didn't know about lol)

I have had the loctite on my kayak for years without any issue of it coming off of the surface it was applied to. I would not use this glue to bind two object to each other however.

nice vid, but personally I feel more comfortable with sealing tape (especially when on a tour). I'm still on my first roll of T-Rex 827-00 Waterproof Tape and very happy with it, but until now I only had to repair 2 holes that were NOT in an air-chamber (Intex Explorer K2).
Yeah, I usually carry some Guerilla tape just in case. Fortunately never had to use it.
@@inneradventures Now I have a hole in my Intex Explorer K2 that can't be sealed with tape or the patch that came with the boat. Instantly though about this video here and came back to see, what you did recommend. Are you aware that the E6000 is not suitable for PVC according to the manufacturer?

Yes, I think all of them would cure overnight. But I should look into more exact numbers. That's a great question. I was only thinking of repairs while not restricted by time.

Packaging says 24hr for E6000 and Loctite ones. And 12hr for the AirStop
Put gorilla waterproof patch and seal tape on the glue for more strength.
Could you put these under the water for a while to see how long it could stay in water and still stay as an adhesive ?
I would assume indefinitely. Do you think that the water would errode some of these?
@@inneradventures Concern would be water degradation or further movement. I did try the Goop on the hole I had , it seemed to have worked but after a while it deflated. I think it didn't work for my inflatable as the pressure might be too high as it was the floor of the inflatable kayak or perhaps user error on my side or the hole is just too large.
WHAT ABOUT WHEN YOU TEAR A HOLE IN YOUR BOAT?
I'm intending to test solutions for that as well
But generally I advise against tearing holes in your boat.
Use hh66 vinyl cement and a patch, it will work 100%! These glues are not strong enough for big holes, especially under pressure.
E6000 (a sub-category of "Goop") is just amazing stuff, I can't imagine what I did before I had it around the house. I'm not yet convinced about the "NEW!" "IMPROVED!" odourless E6000PLUS, but it seems OK so far..
