Since I watched your video how to pack the boat back into the bag I keep hearing your comment “take the strip that you have taken good care of, haven’t you?” whenever I fold my boat and wrap it :P

Nice one Stevie! You make such great videos, so much so that I can't believe you have only 2k subs. This isn't right!

      Thanks Stevie
I've got an Intex and the leak is on the nose so it's not a smooth patch but I'm hoping the Gorilla tape works and I like the idea of having some in my kit.

Great advice here, feels like it’s time to check the kayak for leaks. I thought for a moment you were going to get your wild camping kit out for lunch! Looking forward to new videos this season.

Thanks for this video, it helped me a lot, Stevie. I had to make an emergency repair yesterday, but it luckily held for the last 10 kilometers back. I didn't know about the amount of time it takes to really get it dried to the bone. Cheers Eckie

Hi Stevie, apparently a few people have commented on the bladder behind the seat not holding pressure, mine started to show signs of this end of last year. Will definitely follow your guidance on checking and resolving this. So thanks fella !!

Out of interest what would you have done if the patch had leaked a bit? Banged another over the top I assume?

Great information for new paddlers 👍 One question how the Hell did you get a puncture that high up next to the cotpit ?
I know you know this Stive but for others who maybe thinking about getting an itiwit decathlon will give you a new boat if you get a problem that can't be reperd, as long as you're still within the 2 year warranty.

The puncture would have happened in the bag while in winter storage in my garage (it is a bit of a mess in there!).
Glad I dealt with it now and not when the good weather starts

in a crisis, dry the surface thoroughly then stick gaffer tape on the hole or tear. Keep pressure just below recommended. it will get you home.

A way better temporary repair is with Gorilla waterproof patch tape - it even works under water and is very secure. For permanent repairs, Ulow liquid pvc repair is the very best for patch free repairs. If you need to patch, use a 2 pack glue like polymarine.

That was an excellent repair guide Steve, well narrated. I'd make one minor edit suggestion degrease after sanding, not before.
I've found valves can occasionally leak due to grit in the mechanism,if so remove it with the wrench and wash in water with the button pressed to open it.
Some recommend putting tyre sealant in each chamber to self seal pinholes without field repairs. It works for me on bike tyres at 100 psi, so could be useful for ds kyaks!
