I really enjoyed this video because: 1. I like how you use an inexpensive guitar & make it sound like $1,000,000,000.00. 2. Single string approach to Mixolydian was VERY HELPFUL. 3. You’re approach is very friendly & inspiring. Please keep doing what you’re doing. Btw… I am a guitar wisdom subscriber & can’t get enough of your lessons. Thank you for making my guitar pursuits a little brighter!!!

if any of these notes is altered in the xhordcpalette another has to exist in the chord selection. If they're not in the chord then no problem. If one of the notes of the tonal center triad is altered in the chords palette and is the only one then it has to have the leading tone i e. G#dim. Hope you understand.

Wow. So every time I thought I was hearing minor pentatonic it was actually mixolydian?

    • @oneeyemonster3262
      @oneeyemonster3262 Před 2 lety +1

The inlays are actually DOMINANT PENTATONIC.
It's a different pentatonic scale...but if you get it under your fingers.
It'll separate from a lot of guitar players.
The intervals are ( x = option or passing notes)
I personally use penta scales with 3 options...not just one)
      Notice the b3 Option/passing note ????
      1...x...2.....x....3.............5............b7..x....R DOMINANT penta
      Within are also 5 modes
      1...x...2...............4.............b6......b7...x...R
      1.............b3............b5..x..b6.......b7...x...R
      1.............b3........4...x....5..x...6...............R ( dorian ish)
      1..x...2...x.....3....x...#4...........6...............R
Anyways.....aside from being FUN and sounding wickage cool
      to play 12 barr blues
using dominant penta to vamp over each chord
      A7.......D7......E7
      or
      E7.......A7.....B7
There's wazoo of mixolyian ish...MODEs from other scales.
If you were used to playing those passing option/passing notes
these other modes will easier to learn.
You'll get used to it...dont over think it.
it took me less than 6 months to play it/memoize the entire fretboard like that back of my hand..just like the regular minor or major penta.
In stead of trying to find short cuts.
It helps if you knew the modes with minor penta.
I knew them...so modes within the dominant penta was easy for me.
      Anyways..
      Mix
      mix #2
      Mix #4...............lydian dominant
      Mix #2, #4
      Mix b2
      Mix b6
      Mix b2, b6..........( phrygian dominant)
      Mix b2, #4
      Phry b4 ( it has b3 and Maj3) b4 is enharmonic to maj3
      loc b4
      dor b4
      if you combine
      dor b2, #4...and Mix b2, #4 = Full dim H/W
In a nutshell you can play MAJOR. min. DOMINANT or dim chords
      every b3 interval
      G7.......Bb.........Db.........E7
You should be used to playing G7 into C MAJOR or C min
      and..............................................E7.into A min
The Bb and Db are N6 chords..
Some jazzy heads call the Db..Tritone sub of G7
I personally color those chord to whatever I want
maj7 or aug if I what....
Some times I'll even vamp it over the vi chord...
MAJ or minor and DOMINANT every b3 intervals...right ???? RIght :-P
