Just to let you know we went to the Waterlily Indian restaurant and I had the Chicken Tikka Masala "with a bit of a kick" like you had. The sauce really is exceptional. The waiter (who was the same waiter you had) asked us if we had come for a particular reason or from a recommendation and I said your name! He was really great. Meal was perfect and he gave us a drink on the house! thank you.

The cats just want the chicken, they aren't interested in the batter or sauce. To them, you're just a very large cat who gets to eat most of the chicken before them, and decides how much they get. But you do owe it to them and they won't be denied; they just aren't very particular and it might as well be chicken flavo(u)r Meow Mix.🤪

Don't be so rough with your cats. The one who didn't have chicken became scared and moved away from the food you put on the deck for it. She/he is not as fast as the other one. You could have thrown the piece of chicken to it and away from the other one. I heard you address one of the cats as 'Minnie' in the video with the food from Jade Cottage.
I'm not a cat person, I'm a dog lover but I'll never let any dog go near me when I'm eating. It's called discipline. Well done Lee for shoeing them away👏👏
This one looked much better to me ilike a thicker sauce and celery makes a refreshing change those salt and pepper chips looked better than the other chips too yourcats are gorgeous
What was difficult about that, you walked in gave her your £20 note and immediately she gave you your change. I don't think using a card would have been much quicker. Having run my own business for 45yrs until I retired 5yrs ago I never took cards, but the bank charged quite a lot for paying in cash. I imagine I would be forced to take cards now as there are no banks locally to pay into.

I’m off Chinese food at the moment. Most of the ones I go to seem to go downhill with cheaper and more rank chicken and other ingredients by the month.

Wow £18.50! We had bbq ribs, salt and chilli ribs, chicken balls, sweet and sour chicken, large chips, soft noodles and prawn toast for £21.50 from our favorite and that was delivered.

I can name three local Chinese takeout places near me on Long Island that blow those places away! I don't get the french fries with Chinese food, here we get rice, choice of white or brown as the main starch which is the way Chinese food should be. I notice you never order side condiments, like hot oil and hoisin sauce and Chinese hot mustard, and where are the big crispy Chinese chips that come in the small wax bags instead of french fries.
In the U.S., or at least anywhere near NYC, we get handfuls of packets of duck sauce, soy sauce and mustard thrown into every takeout order. It's such a waste because I wind up throwing most of them away.
I used to go to a casino and there were people from the local Chinese in there spending hundreds of pounds on roulet per spin. All the cash was money that didn’t go through the books😮
Culturally, the Chinese have always been avid gamblers. Many years ago, I used to take the bus to the trotters just north of NYC. The bus started in Chinatown in Manhattan and stopped almost right in front of where I used to live. Sometimes I was able to get a seat, sometimes not.
Looks better than the other one. I think chicken breast tends to be stringy anyway. Always use chicken thighs myself. Our cat isn’t even slightly interested in Chinese

I was thinking the same thing. The computer geeks will keep the takeaway in business by themselves no matter how good or bad it is.
Hi Lee, in Liverpool we have a choice of chips or boiled rice when we order a meal. Pay slightly more if you want fried rice to accompany the meal. Similar costs also.
I’ve stopped using my card and now use cash for everything in support of the ‘keep cash alive’ campaign.

That looks a load better than the other one (I had to go back and look). Worth the extra £1.50. It’s pretty standard fare for a British Chinese takeaway. I can never finish a chinese takeaway in one go - always eat most, then go back a bit later and finish it. 8/10

Cash for the smaller companies like these I agree with !! Then it stops the bigger companies like visa and other card machine operators taking a percentage and the smaller company keeps 100% of the money

The issue with cash vs. credit is really up to the restaurant's owner. The net cost to most places accepting credit cards is usually about 2-3% but there is also a slight delay to actually receive money. Consider that there are no chargebacks when the meal is paid in cash. The restaurant is not extending credit to you when you pay in cash so they aren't risking anything. There are also no fees or delays in receiving payments with cash. Of course there's several advantages for us, the consumers by paying by credit but far fewer for the merchant.

Jim Sim... the cash only is usually to dodge paying TAX on takings. Cash can only be counted if observed being collected the vat is checked in restaurants not take aways...

My local Chinese is amazing and one of my favourite dishes is the Szechuan Chicken I've had it from other Chinese takeaways and it's not as good. And this one time my local Chinese takeaway was shut I had to order from another and asked it to be delivered but it never turned up so wrote a bad review on the website. But my local Chinese use to be cash only but now they also accept card payments also which is good seeing as I never have any money on me nowadays always pay by card wherever I go
The restaurants are doing it to a) avoid card charges and b) it's easier to cook the books.
If your cats are like mine, they're drawn to fried foods with salt. I an come come home with any takeaway and not be bothered by my cat but if I have chips or onion rings, she's up on my desk trying to get her nose in.

Chips with Chinese food isn't a thing here in Australia. It has to be either fried/boiled rice or noodles. My local Chinese has been around for almost 60 years. Does consistently great food and gives 10% off for cash pickups.
I don't understand that either. It's the same with curries here in the UK. Why people go for chips with these cuisines is beyond me but then the same people are up in arms when you have curry sauce with fish and chips. Brits for you.

This one looked better than the other one more sauce and like you said the containers, were full and your prices are cheaper than by us as well but the winner, is this one on looks and price and hopefully taste it’s like all chippies, they’re certain things that are better than others and personal choice 👏👏👍👍

I think all Chinese takeaways go to the same printers to get their menus done. Always the same pamphlet with list of dishes (ingredients in red font and brackets) and gaudy images of generic dishes that look nothing like the real thing. The best US takeaway must be the one Cliff Barnes from Dallas used to go to. Always remember him chomping on noodles from a box and making me hungry. Not a fan of sweet and sour but this takeaway looks better than the other one you had.

I thought GnN was the best. The dishes were very saucy, delicious. And I did, however, notice the salt and pepper fries were in Styrofoam, not plastic. Did not alter the taste they were delicious. I loved the Hong Kong style chicken. Cashew chicken yum. The price difference was minor. This was a better takeout. Are those kitties yours, are they twins, and how will they find their way home when you move? 10 for all time 12.14 pm😊😊😊

Our local one has been cash only since covid. No card machine at all. Nearly caught us out the first time we went after they changed.

The Chinese food you ordered has sauce so it would taste better eaten with white rice. White rice does come with Chinese food in the USA but rice doesn't cost much so you could have bought some. If not, your girlfriend could cook some rice . It only takes 25 minutes to cook. You could have also ordered fried rice.
My local Chinese is cash only as well , It dose do my head in having to go to a ATM to get cash out just for a meal , when it would be quicker to pay by card. On another note I did recently try Chicken and Oyster sauce and have to say it was really dam good 😊

Saying it should be cheaper than the other one because it's cash only is like saying every place serving breakfasts should charge the same price if you pay by card. There are many factors contributing to the price, cost of rent, cost of business tax/loans, cost of ingredients, utility prices, wages they pay staff etc etc etc, come on Lee you know that statement is utter nonsense. The meals from this place looked better than the first one, (perhaps that's why you are paying more!!)

Given that you always have a curry sauce with fish and chips why do you never order Chinese curry, even as a secondary to sweet and sour. G&Ns looks better.
I wonder about the menu item called Wandering Dragon. It is described as "mixed meat." Does that mean whatever the cook found on the road today on the way to work? Some businesses that take cash only cheat on their taxes. On the other hand, an unhappy customer can have a card payment reversed. I must say that your house, "is a very, very, very fine house. Mac one takeaway being more expensive is nothing to do with cash or electronic! One shop i go to charges more for Pepsi than another shop,that is the way it is and its my choice to pay for it or not lol
