Slight clarification... They went to rob Jayce's apartment because Jayce came down to Benzo's shop in the undercity and bought a bunch of expensive "illegal" equipment for his experiments... and ekko (the boy with white hair who is about powders age) overcharged him for it. "He didn't even haggle!". Jayce must be rich! Echo followed Jayce back to his apartment then then told Vi about him. VI planned the caper. She wasn't there for anything in particular. She just knew that this guy is wealthy. This is all from dialog in the first episode.
If people could stop talking for two seconds they might actually pick up on these things, but rarely does anyone because god forbid.
"...she's just gonna explode upward!" Oh you sweet innocent child...
Clarification #2 (because it sort of seems like you missed it when you were vibing to the music), at the end of the episode Vi gave her favorite childhood toy (the bunny) to powder and also sadly offered some life advice to remember that she is stronger than she thinks in an emotionally cracked voice. Powder sensed that Vi was going to do something rash and that she may not see her sister again. This is why Powder sadly sits at the bar where Vander prepares her a special drink/treat in an effort to cheer her up. Vander notices that Vi has given the bunny to Powder and is suddenly alarmed. This all happened after the conversation between Vander and Vi on the bridge where Vander explains why he is against fighting against the Topside and how he doesn't know what to do. Finally we see Vi sitting alone in Benzo's shop as enforcers calmly enter the lanes. "The lanes" are sort of a neighborhood in the larger undercity.
"Is there something wrong with the air?"
Yes. It's a combination of gasses from the mine and industrial run off. The inhabitants are used to it just like someone can get used to smoking cigs, but topsiders wear airfilters when they go into the Lanes.
Someone has to be the public service announcement and let you know to not play the game, just keep enjoying league of legends content as you are that's the best approach to learn and enjoy the league universe/lore which is the best the company has to offer in recent years, music, cinematics, esports, shows (arcane), literally everything but the game is a healthy activity, playing the game is basically self-harm, the game in it of itself it's fine and it's fun in its core, sadly and mildly put the players are the worst people you'll ever meet on the internet, and they will ruin your experience and make it miserable and the worst part is that there's no way around it, it's unavoidable since it is a teamgame.
One important thing about Arcane is that the show doesn't discuss a single theme, but a whole bunch of themes interlinked. Class warfare, conflicted loyalties, trauma, corruption from accruing power, escaping your parents' shadow, past mistakes coming back to haunt you...
3:55 that wasn't an aquarium, his base is underwater. These things live in polluted waters in the Undercity yet nobody knows they exist (as stated by Silco) because nobody swims there as it is dangerous. That's also the reason why nobody dived to get back the bag Powder threw away
Also yes, the air as well as the water in the Undercity is heavily polluted hence why the enforcers wear masks
Did I say aquarium? Dammit.
@WriterReactsChannel it's okay :) it was difficult to understand from the 1st episode only so it's an understandable mistake.

Yeah an underwater base is definitely villain bingo haha
love how he vibed over the fact that Vi is giving herself up to the enforcers^^
The plot roller coaster has been winched to the top of the track. And now it begins...
To be fair to Marcus, he's just been tipped off that the undercity crimeboss is not only behind a bombing, but also led an armed insurrection 5 years or so ago.
You can understand he'd be passionate about it.
Notice how quickly Caitlyn's mother changed her position about Jayce? Before the hearing she wanted to support Jayce, but once he mentioned "magic", she turned against him. Now watch her in episode 4.
Marcus, well, he's got an overbearing almost abusive ego because of what he's been taught and his upbringing in Piltover.
Who is your favorite character so far? Mine is Victor. I know you just got introduced to him, but I personally like his character.
Another perceptive review! The less you know about League of Legends going in, the more you'll enjoy Arcane!
The show only asks you to pay attention - which you are doing, you're following along nicely! The show doesn't hold your hand or hammer you over the head with anything the way Marvel or Star Wars does :)
LOL, I never thought of Silco being an "apple cinnamon kind o` guy" but now that you mention it, that fits the Chem-Baron of Zaun to a tee!
this was amazing smashed the like
Worth commenting that Heimendinger is by far too cutesy cute for this world. I strongly suspect misdirection, that he's got some real darkness in his past.
Funnily enough, "Celestials" are also a race in "League of Legends" . Hell, in earlier versions of the lore they were basically ancient extraterrestrials with massive egos worshipped as gods by ancient humans like in the MCU!
Hi! Please consider lowering the background music volume down a bit for the intro/outro. Maybe it's just me, but I have a hard time hearing you over that music.
When you're done with EP9 then I would recommend this video.
- The World of Riot's MMO is Already Done
Basically it explains a little bit of lore of the other regions, the culture and creatures.
I think Vi is my favorite as well. Her strength and bold nature are very attractive for a character. The arcs are going to hit hard - it'll be very interesting to see your reaction. 😊
No kidding
Jason Spisak who voices Silco is basically the Sean Bean of animation. Take that for what you will.
I like your reaction, but comedy might not be your strong point.
