Great reaction. Andy doesn't just break the warden & ruin his life. He DESTROYS him on several levels. Takes Everything from him. Ruins his whole world. Makes his legacy of his inside out program into nothing but a crime. But with a Beautiful little twist of the dagger on top. Let me elaborate. You've seen what a religious zealot the warden is. Yes he has broken the 10 commandments more than a few times. But those sins are things someone can be redeemed from. If the warden had accepted his sins & gone to prison, he could've ended up in heaven after redemption by admitting his sins. But he doesn't. He offs himself. That's something in the bible that sends you straight to Hell. Andy doesn't just tear down the wardens world, he destroys & makes him lose his most treasured "good trait". His faith. Andy breaks him mind, body & soul.

Silco isnt a villain, he is more of an anti-hero. Silco doesnt stand for power, or personal gain. Thats why Sevika didnt betray him. She's loyal to the cause, not to silco or vander or anyone else. Silco stands for the freedom of the undercity people. And his goal is all that matters right until the end, where he is put to chose between Jinx and the good of everyone else. He is ruined because he's in conflict. For the first time, his personal aspects are in opposition with the true purpose of it all. For everyone who didnt understand the sublte aspects, lets debunk some aspects. -> Silco is a murder. Yes, but only if necessary. Silco didnt want to kill Vander, he wanted him on his side. Vander chose not to and put himself between the goal of true freedom. Thats what got him killed. -> Silco flushed the lanes with shimmer. Thats a perspective, not a reality. The dialogue of "i wanted to be somebody, make other people affraid" means shimmer wasnt forced, just made available. Taking shimmer was a choice, and those who did, its on them, not on Silco. -> Silco exploited kids. Not true. Kids have always worked in the underground. As Vander said "you gotta earn a place in the world". The show is devious. They show you kids at the end of episode 8, to make u revolt, then they show you that even the chem baron kid worked there.. and i doubt he was forced. -> Undercity is worse. No it is not remember what kind of slump the last drop was and how it looked in episode 4. The undercity is richer overall, because money come illegaly through the smuggling of shimmer to external markets. The councilor said "you've seen their ingenuity over the years, body modifications" -> Silco manipulates jinx. Not true. He trully didnt knew Vi was alive and has always let jinx make her own decisions. He trully believes what he says and he manipulates her the same way any parent does when he gives his personal advice, that ofc might be bias. People need to understand that Silco isnt trully a villain. His moral compass is unscrupulously right. Freedom, regardless of cost. At the end of the day, the Vander solution of keeping your head down while slowly decaying into oblivion isnt good. With that mentality, in the real world, we would still have slavery. Since when "freedom or die trying" is viewed as bad mentality? The only thing villainous about silco is his aesthetics. He is deliberately presented that way to screw with the viewers perception. None of the characters of arcane are trully a villain.

i am a big fan of react channels and this is one of my favorite movies, along with the green mile, to watch people react to so it was only a matter of time before I stumbled on your content. so imagine my surprise when you started talking about the 13th and the prison industrial complex, it made my little lefty heart grow three sizes and got a subscribe from me. i don't know exactly how progressive you are and I don't anything too progressive can get a lot of hate these days, but I would love to see a react channel react to movies from a progressive lense. it would be something different and unique to your channel. i know I would watch the heck outta that

Are you saying you are a current writer right now in movies? With all due respect you should be sacked. One of the biggest problems in Hollywood is the lack of vision. Having tables of writers is why modern Hollywood is shite. You cannot write a great movie like this. If you are a great writer, write a fucking book and then script it to a movie. When I watched this ten years ago I really liked it. When I rewatched it I remember being impressed with just how tight the writing was.

Since you do TV SERIES ... you should react to *BABYLON 5* ... the (IMO) best written series ever, because it STARTED OUT WITH A FIVE-YEAR-ARC ... and seasons 3 and 4 were written by one man only (the first time that has been done). They won two HUGO awards ... with 45 minute episodes against big budget movies! After you are done compare the writing to "modern garbage" like Loki, Ahsoka or The Acolyte ... and include the BUDGET in those considerations, which was just $650.000 per episode for Babylon 5 (adjusted for inflation that's ~$1,5 million today). *This should make clear what is missing for TV series these days!* [Babylon 5 isnt perfect, because there are quite a few plot holes due to actors leaving the show or JMS simply screwing up some things ... but the general plot is breathtaking, with several high points each season. The sets are also pretty crappy, but they were the first to really use CGI in a TV series ... and THE ACTORS ARE "LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE" for their acting and chemistry.]

Remembering back 20 years, it seemed like the production wanted to go to Check Republic for future filming to save production costs. Daniel Radcliffe parents were against having their son in that location due to distance and the local sex trade. So hilly Scotland was chosen instead. I hope that is mainly true, memories were not saved in my house.

One little touch that I always really like is how Katara said “I’m haven’t had this much fun since I was a kid“. It really shows how war can can make someone grow up much faster than they should.

It seems reasonable to believe that Poppy poisoned her children. The boy in the wheelchair, her son, probably lost the use of his legs from being poisoned. The way Poppy describes her daughter sounds like she's the victim of poisoning as well. We know Poppy is insane, but she also seems to have affected something like Munchausen Symptom by Proxy. Most of the ghosts are benign victims of the house. However, Poppy clearly is not benign. Even Olivia (non-ghost and ghost) isn't exactly benign. She wants to kill her children to protect them, which is absolutely nuts! Yes, the house made her that way, but she still behaves badly.

What a loser commentary at the end. "If you take a person out of society, you are responsible to put them back in". WRONG. WHen the person is taken out of society, it is because they broke thier coveneant with society by murdering someone. The consequences for that action are being taken out of Society - and they are owed nothing. The victim has no way back when murdered, and the criminal pays the price. The price can be tough (as it should be).

So glad you're checking this one out! I grew up with this stuff myself; it's definitely a show that grows on you and grows itself as it goes on. You think the writing, the visuals, the heart of the show is compelling now... just you wait. One of the all time GOATs of storytelling in my honest/humble/perhaps-humorous opinion: nothing like it since. On that note, thanks so much for choosing the OG cartoon show. The difference between this and the Netflix reboot (as well as with M Night's trainwreck) is so night and day in favor of the OG, we like to say "there is no live action in Ba Sing Se" (you'll understand later.)

Hell yeah! Once you're done, I'd very strongly recommend Xiran Jay Zhao's videos on the cultural inspirations of Avatar, whether you react to them or not - I thought they were fascinating.

The Dursleys don't just hate Harry, they hate magic, they hate the thought Harry might find out he has magic, they also hate the thought of Harry being happy. They thought they could "stamp that nonsense" out of him. Uncle Vernon even goes through a dilemma in Goblet of Fire where on one hand Harry will be happy if he lets Harry go to the quidditch world cup, but it would also get Harry out of the house sooner than he could have hoped for. Vernon almost willing sacrificed his own happiness just to make his nephew unhappy.

Parole Boards need to save money by releasing prisoners who have served a long long time. 50 years for Brooks, 40 years for Red, old enough to be unlikely to be a danger to society and make room for new prisoners.

Joaquin Phoenix was just brilliant in this movie. I cant picture any other actor playing this part better.

Based on a short book by Stephen King. It was filmed in a real prison. The mug shot they used for Red was Morgan Freeman's son.
