People in America do pray in the middle of anywhere and nowhere. I’ve seen it a lot in NYC. Sometimes jobs let people step away to pray and I’ve seen people walk out of class to pray as well. I went to a shop that closed for a few minutes for prayer. Sometimes America will allow to people worship as long as it’s not hurting someone else which pray usually doesn’t.

I can see your point but as I live in France and grew up in West Africa partly, I’d say there are men who might have feminine gesture and a small body build but I find him quite masculine, he’s just smaller, and so he can’t behave like a big guy.
So I’m am Algerian Egyptian on my mothers side. I’ve been to Egypt so many times, my cousins who are fully Egyptian. (Not all) but a lot of them do have very flamboyant body language. It doesn’t mean they are gay it is just more normalized rather than I’ve seen westerners who tell a man he is gay for crossing his legs. This will not happen in Egypt. Even on my father’s side we are Caucasian(from caucuses of Russia) many men specifically Caucasian Russians(Dagestan, Chechnya, Alania, etc.) they are the same way as well. But despite the flamboyance they are also very manly in terms of knowing how to completely take care of their women, they hate their masculinity being questioned because in our culture this is disrespectful. This flamboyance is also helpful for how they come off, it’s very comforting to many women especially when we are stressing, my husband is a professional fighter from Dagestan. Some people ask me “is he a little gay” I tell them “no we are just from a place his body language and mannerism is more what we consider “chilled”.

If she doesn’t cook for herself regularly, then she probably doesn’t keep much fresh food around, just heats up frozen pizza and prepared meals. He never lived with her separately, they lived with his mom in Egypt where his mom did all the cooking. If cooking isn’t part of her lifestyle, then being married doesn’t obligate her to change anymore than it obligates him to stop praying 5 times a day or change his other religious practices.

Nicole took her revenge way too far, way too fast. She lost herself in trying to make Mahmoud feel everything she felt when she was in Egypt, It’s like I get it but if you really want your marriage to actually work, you still can’t overwhelm the dude culturally on day one. I guess it really won’t matter anyway because he will never be ok with a woman being in charge and being the head of the household. All of his insecurities will turn into physical abuse even faster. Nicole was messed up for not making him a good meal or at least ordering some good takeout. As much as I can’t stand Mahmoud, she literally escalated every fight they had when he arrived. All just to assert her female dominance.

I really feel like Mahmood is keeping up a facade and that he is actually homosexual and just married Nicole to escape and keep face with his family as homosexuality is unfortunately frowned upon in such cultures. We are all forgetting that Nicole, converted to Islam not because she was forced to do so but because she wanted Mahmoood to believe that she would be a good Muslim wife to him, she knew he was very conservative and went to Egypt and then decided that she could not do it. She returned to the United States to get on with her American life, then TLC came calling, she figured that she could make money and build her brand from the show so she went back to Egypt all the time complaining and pushing the envelope with this man, who has never had another woman in his life, have no clue how to react to relationship issues. Did he grab her after she pushed him away in the streets, yes, he should not have done that, but if he was the one who had pushed her away there would have been uproar as well. These 2 people should not be together. Nicole has issues ( victim playing) and so does he.

Exactly, she made him believe that she would learn and follow Islam when she converted. And has she done anything to learn about Islam? Does she read the Koran? Does she go to the Mosque? Does she even pray? She has really made no attempt what so ever when it comes to the religion she converted to. Mahmoud never tried to hide who he was. He was always upfront about the fact he was strict Muslim. She is the one who lied. These two are just not right for eachother at all. He needs to find a Muslim, preferably Arab wife and she needs some counselling to figure out what she wants because it's Not Mahmoud.

I understand why Nicole treats him the way she does. Because he abused and controlled her in Egypt. She felt like in prison and was afraid to let her rage and negative emotions out of her. She is now home and feel secure and confident and all the emotions that she still has embotled in her heart can endless came out. She is healing herself.
