    I really don't need an Alpha but was going to pre-order the standard Mega Man edition on Amazon UK and discovered, like you did, that it's "Currently Unavailable". It was really just going to be a place holder to secure the £30 saving if I felt as though I wanted one nearer Christmas. There's no way I was giving Funstock money up front as I've had issues with them in the past. Anyway, I'll probably just live vicariously through your videos when you get yours and save myself a couple of hundred pounds :-) Great video as always and keep up the awesome work!

    I'll wait to see what else they put out down the road. I like my VS, and I'm not interest in paying over $200 for a handful of fighting games and beat em ups that are a pain in the butt to play with 2 players.

      @@stevemahoney5209 Playing Street Fighter against a CPU gets old, and it's only a small fraction of the enjoyment that you can get out of those games. They're really the most fun with a second person. They definitely could have found some great single player titles, and if they did I think this release would have gone a lot better. Also, over $200 if they had an HDMI out so that you could use the mini cab like a VS, they would have been brilliant. If people are already willing to shell out that much money for one of those systems, at that point, why not just charge a little bit more and include an HDMI out port? By not doing so, they really turned a lot of potential customers away.

    Nice one Crazy! Sneaky move pre-ordering one on Amazon but I like your thinking. 👍
    I went deluxe Street Fighter in the end as you know. I wanted the best controls that will last as we have 100's & 100's of games on carts that can make use of the stick! Will be a lot of fun messing with them in an arcade form factor.
    One bonus with the standard Alpha, if you upgrade the controls you can have any colour buttons or stick top you like!
    Megaman still the best looking one of the two Alpha's. One thing I noticed, Megaman speaker's are higjer than Street Fighter so not to spoil the artwork as much. 😉

    I don't get why there would be FOMO over this as, unlike any other Evercade/Funstock exclusives, they confirmed that these are not limited in stock and will stay in production. There seems to be less reason than ever to preorder and giving them your money now when these will remain available. I suppose if you absolutely must have one on release date, otherwise everyone who wants one should be fine.

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  Před měsícem +1

      There's no doubt I was extremely annoyed losing 2 carts, Team 17 and Indie Heroes 3. The toughest part is losing hours of save states. Supremely frustrating. Their quick response was appreciated, so I can't praise them enough for that. But these issues shouldn't happen as frequent. They have stalled further large updates, you may or not have noticed. There's also a lot of work going on behind the scenes, more staff, more paid testers, more investment. Changes are happening. I'm willing to give them a chance as they've done more harm than good in the last 4 years. Evercade has still been a breath of fresh air in a very boring current gen environment. Though dont get me wrong, if more issues start to appear and cart failure continues, I'll be done with it soon enough.

  • @DHaworth100
    @DHaworth100 Před měsícem +1

    Every video game company who have done cabinets or bar tops is out of business or going bankrupt. The model doesn't work because the product is expensive to make. They make no money on the cab, they have to depend on cart sales which will be tough to do. Evercade announced that they sold over one million carts at the same time they announced the alpha. That is a red flag for me. It is like they are reassuring that buying an Alpha is a good investment, but it's not.

      Difference is this thing sells other things. The other standalone cabinets usually depend fully on people having room for more of them. Though some have online purchases apparently.
