This was the best video giving instructions on amaryllis. Thank you so very much; now I know for sure how I should repot and treat my beautiful amaryllis. 😊
Thanks a lot! I would recommend taking a bigger pot than the one in the video (wanted to show the depth of planting, but didn't have a suitable pot at that moment) :)
Hey Trina, thanks for your comment. In this case, I used universal soil. However, there are soil mixtures that are meant for plants with bulbs/tubers. It's better to use these, if you have them in your local stores. Also, I would suggest using bigger pots than the one in the video. Amaryllises have very strong and thick roots, and your bulb will grow huge leaves and bloom better, if it grows in a bigger pot. Hope this was helpful. :)
It's a very good question. Well, of course you can choose any variety you like. The most important thing is that you need to carefully examine the bulb itself, if you are buying a bulb. It shall be firm and not have any spots or stains of diseases.If you are buying an amaryllis already in a pot, make sure you choose the one which will look healthy to you - green buds, green strong leaves, without any black, brown, yellow dots, lines, etc. Would you be interested in a separate video on how to choose healthy bulbs?

Does the pot have drainage holes in the bottom?
