whats confirmed is this man was a Ukraine Freedom fighter who protested through playing piano at the front of the protests. His family was killed in bombings and he chose to play the piano after finding one abandoned on the streets. One of the best scenes in Saving Private Ryan was when Tom Hanks, admits to his fellow soldiers that he's a school teacher. Soldiers are ordinary people, this man could have been a musician, or music teacher before he dressed in fatigues and covered his face. Whats heart breaking is in extreme situations like WWII and the conflict in Ukraine, protesting isn't enough and ordinary people are forced to fight for what's right. We see armed soldiers and we forget that soldiers are humans too (on both sides), they have lives, families, feelings and emotions. Whats beautiful for me is how this mans talents bridge that gap. It's a reminder that he is still a human, and although lost a lot, still believes in hope for a better future.

Then the maidan protests happened, he saw the piano and started to play. Last I heard he had a full time job playing for Ukrainian soldiers on their bases and in hospitals. He even wrote a song for a friend of his who was killed in the conflict. He has a soundcloud with various covers on. There is something rather poetic about this. There is something rather poetic about this. A young man, his face covered yet his person comes through in his music, a child dances in the background, the disparity between their lives and experiences are so great, yet in this moment their is a commonality between them, and it’s built on the universal human element of music.

He's not a Ukrainian Soldier but infact was an extremist apart of a militia group, he lost his wife and child to war but at some point he decided to undergo the name "The Piano Extremist" and vocalize his views and ideologies by playing music rather than undergoing anymore violence. Truly amazing came back years after seeing this video. I’m really astonished with the beauty of life even someone forged in the furnace of war and seen the stillness of death can appreciate the beautiful things in life such as music and play the piano so well. Just goes to show we’re all a complex arrangement of experiences.
