[STRONGER, BETTER SCISSORS] So what is the Zip Snip. They’re Cordless Electric Scissors. They can cut tougher material with far less hand strain than manual scissors
[BLADE STAYS SHARP] The automatic sharpening system ensures you’ll always have a clean, smooth cut, on cloth, carpet, leather and more
[HOLDS A CHARGE FOR MONTHS] The 4V MaxLithium battery gives it the spin it needs to slice through materials, and holds that charge for a long time
[SAFETY FIRST] Both the trigger and the lock-out switch need to be pressed to make the Zip Snip operate, so it’ll only work when you’ve got a firm grasp on things
[DO IT YOURSELF. DO IT BETTER. DO IT WITH WORX.] WORX tools are engineered with cutting-edge technology, and above modern efficiency standards, so you can build a cost-effective tool collection that’s been designed to last
[BATTERY INDICATOR] Power level monitor on the Zip Snip lets you make sure that you’ll have enough charge for the job at hand
[ONLY 1 LBS] Not only can you work a long time without fatigue, but the Zip Snip is easy to maneuver
[COMES WITH CHARGER] The battery is internal, so you just connect the included charger when you need to top it up

I just ordered one of these. I've got plenty of different knives and box cutters and have no problem with chopping up big piles of cardboard manually, but I've got lots of cardboard to process and I think this would save my hands a bit. Looks like it's handy for neatly cutting thick plastic sheeting and other stuff, too.

It's fun to use, that's for sure! If you have lots of cardboard to process, I would suggest alternating between the tools, happy box processing! :)

Thanks for the review. I have recently completed a major home re-furnishing project and now my garage is full of empty furniture boxes. I bought a pair of large scissors but after doing 2 boxes I realized that I need to level up on the my cutting powers.

I would love to use one of these for doing cardboard crafts again (I'm disabled in my hands), can they be used to make detailed cuts and curves?

Sorry to hear about your hands. These cutters do not turn very well. Only good for mainly straight cuts.

But what is the metal lip part for?

    • @UTECHPIA
      @UTECHPIA  Před měsícem

To help guide the material and provide tension for the blade to cut. Like when you are cutting a piece of cloth with scissors, you need to pull the cloth (add tension) to cut.

Man thats kicking up a ton of dust. I really think dragging a traditional blade along the cardboard at an angle (maximize blade surface area in contact) against a self-healing cutting mat is tremendously superior. I was interested in this product because I have been cutting cardboard daily for about 8 years. A folding pocket box cutter with the clasp mechanism (workpro makes it for $14) and a 100 pack pf Stanley FATMAX blades ($8) will last you about 400 hours of non-stop cutting. Its important that the box cutter have a folding clasp as the blade locking mechanism so the blade has absolutely 0 wiggle. The box cutter you showed, no offense, is one of the loosest and worst. I have owned about 30 different box cutters and even made plywood boards with die cutters to press patterns out of big stacks of recycled cardboard. If you do it against a self healing mat ($20-70 depending on how big you want to go) it will blow this tool away, you can take up to 4 walls with a clean cut in no time at all. I love the idea of the zip snip and i suspect its really good at cutting fiberglass cloth. Thanks for making the video boss.

Thanks for your feedback! I will try a better folding pocket box cutter and a self-healing cutting mat! Happy Box Cutting! 🍻

Just sharpen the base guide plate end with a grinder to act as a razer blade?

Why waste so much money on an electric box cutter? Can't you just use a normal razorblade?
