- This is my Kaffir lime seedling update at 4 months. I touch lightly on how I care for them. My love for gardening started at a young age, watching elders in my families pour time and effort into growing things that we could eat. It's a true reward to watching things grow and develop into something delicious. I also share bits of scenery from my mom's garden from a previous summer. These scenes spark nostalgic memories from the past.

Grew a kaffir like tree and it’s almost one years old. It’s still only a few inches but hoping this spring it can take off. Also, Some of my other 3 year old lemon plants already sprouted flowers!!!

I've got 4 trees in my little apartment, two tiny spruce trees I dug up and put in pots, one tiny apple tree I grew from a seed, and one Maple tree I grew from a seed. Although I'm no expert I plan on training them into bonsai trees. The Maple is one year old and just came out of dormancy a few weeks ago, now it is sprouting new leaves every week and will need trimming soon. The apple tree was too small to go dormant over the winter so I kept him inside and he has just recently started to shoot out some new leaves. One of my spruce trees has new growth, but the other is not sprouting anything, I'm a little worried that one may not survive. It is still alive though so I'm going to give it more time. Growing and caring for plants offers such a calming balance to the rush and craziness of modern life. I love your video Thun, ty for sharing so many great tips, and I cant wait to see your plants again in 3-4 months!
That's amazing that you grew all of those trees from seeds. There's a lot of gratification watching them grow. Spring is definitely an exciting time for new growth. I love seeing them push out new leaves this time of year. Good luck with your trees, it sounds like you have quite the green thumb! I bet your maple tree is beautiful. Thanks for sharing that
I hear your concern on the tree that's not sprouting. I'm sure you put a lot of time and effort into caring for them. I've lost a few lime trees myself. I hope your tree will survive!

I know nothing about kifir lime trees...but have you tried a makeshift terrarium\greenhouse with clear plastic sheeting to trap the moisture and heat? Thanks for the video! Very cool 🤙
Yes I've tried that. It helps out a lot but eventually started to grow mold so I use that method once in awhile. It's effective though. Thank you!
Think I see a hoya... too bad all plants are not as easy to grow as hoyas. I watched a video by Rusted Gardener and now pre-treat all my peat mix with scalding hot water before I use them for seed starts. It helps get rid of the fungus gnat eggs that are just sitting dormant in the mix and waiting for moisture. I think the Epic Gardening guy has info on citrus and he grows a lot in containers though he is in a Santiago climate zone. Look forward to the next vid.

Thank you for all your videos, I like them very much, i like Kaffir tree a lot, I never grown any plants, this is my first time I paid good money for this Kaffir tree.From June 21 to now the tree is about 6 feet please help me, how I need to prepare pot, soil to move the tree inside. Thank you

What are some of your tips for indoor gardening? These little trees didn't grow as much in these 4 months. I can't wait to bring them outdoors for the first time once the weather is warmer!
I have a 2' x 2' grow tent with an LED grow light I use to start my vegetable seeds indoors. The tent will hold the humidity quite well.

My favorite...my leaf was dying. I overwatered it...hope I can still save it. 🙏🏻 now I need to leave in my bedroom with humidifier and heat pad. 😅

@@ThunThunChannel my lime leaf isn’t getting better. 😕. I’m giving it a few more days because the stem is somewhat green. Leaves all died and are curled and brown yellow. They didn’t fall off, so I plucked some off yesterday. 🤞
@@annee5582 I'm sorry to hear that. Is the soil very wet? Is there a drip tray underneath and full of water? If so, if you feel it's still possible to revive this plant, you can change out the soil. That way the roots are not sitting in soaked soil. Also drain the drip tray if there is one.

@@itsfrancolee1822 That's strange. Mine are definitely growing slowly too. I think in a few months I saw 1 new leaf. They thrive in humid conditions. Hopefully we will both see some growth in a few months. I plan to repot them in a few months to give more room for the roots to grow. I hear the 1st year is the slowest as they are still establishing them selves

You can prune back the leading branch and that will promote side branches to grow. But I would wait until your tree is at the desired height before doing that.
I love the idea of growing anything but I have killed every plant I ever had and I feel horrible. If anyone has any advise about anything I can do to keep any plant alive, I will be grateful.
Thank you for watching 🙏🏼 I usually start by googling the plant and reading about it if I'm not too familiar with it. The most important things to plants are sunlight, water, and fertilizing. Each plant requires different amounts of these things, so I would start finding out about those things first. Are there any plants you interested in growing in particular?

Umm... those don't look like Kaffir Lime leaves on those little trees. You sure you are growing KL trees? People report ordering seeds but not getting KL seeds, only to learn that after growth.
