The first few rains after a pond is dug is always the best feeling. I’m glad to see your ponds have filled up.

I'll tell you what, I have never commented on a YT video, but I really appreciate how hard you work and how much of a gentleman you are. It takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there to the world and letting strangers critique everything you show. And talking about why you chose an LS over Green or Orange??? That takes guts! LOL!! I'm leaning towards LS largely because of your reviews. I sold my old L-Series Kubota and I'm looking in the Under-DEF HP range, so your reviews on this 73 HP are very helpful. What I see is a hard-working, old school guy trying to make a living and helping people with some good info. So, I thought I'd return the favor by clicking the YT buttons you need and making a comment since I know this helps you. Best wishes from N. Texas (where we have had a little more rain, but a lot more wind!)

First thank you so much for your very kind words. We appreciate you taking the time to comment and watching the videos. Yes talking about the LS brand is not the most popular BUT my LS has done me well so far. We will keep giving as much information about our experiences with the LS.
      Thanks again

We have a family place in NE Texas thats all hills and woods, very different from yours. Only piece of machinery we have is an old 2wd diesel tractor with a bush hog and loader, but we make it work. I'm just lucky my brother-in-law is a good mechanic. Good luck with your projects!

Old tractor brush hog and loader was all I had for a LONG time, but like you said you make it work. You use what you have and make the best of it. I now have 2 tractors but it took me 30+ years to get there. I hear you on the mechanic, I have owned old tractors and you have keep them going. The New tractors have so much stuff on them, like my LS, it is scary, but it is nice. We appreciate your commitment, thank you

yes depends on how deep you want to go
i personally believe pounds need to be deeper than wide
wider they are more evaporation surface mean loss of water to evaporation deeper also means cooler it stay
shallow pond grow moss and algae easy deep pond blocks more light and hopefully slow algae can support algae eating 🐠🐟

all the labor, time, and fuel you could have rented a small dozer and got all of it done in a week or less

      Maybe
But it was Theropy for me and satisfying to do this with the tractor. I really had more time than money. So I chose to do it this way. Sometimes you just do what you can with what you have. You are right it would have been faster not sure about cheaper. The silt in one of the ponds was deep and would have bellied a small dozer very quickly. I did have someone look at it and at the time he said he would not put a dozer in it for that reason. I also looked at a drag line. My pocket book said no. It was easier to buy some fuel and take my time and take out as much as I could a little at a time.
      Thanks

Sorry you did. We ended up having to pull it down which messes everything up. Funny thing in the video I talk about when you make a mistake. Well we made a mistake on that video and I had to fix it when I do that there is no way of reposting the same video but hey look, we really appreciate you.

@@3DFarmingLife am sure there is a lot of learning when it comes to making videos. I’d have no clue. Good luck 👍
