- Our friends Paul and Charlie invited Bill and Kurt for a fun filled day of Metal Detecting a very historic part of town. Multiple log cabin foundations from the early 1700’s, saw mill, trolly stop, and still standing starter home from 1714!! A treasure in itself. Unfortunately the starter home had fill dirt all around it, but the fellas saved some beautiful coins and relics from the other sites.

Awesome hunt!! Those shoe buckles are amazing!! Big congrats!!.. the "anvil" is actually an anvil.. its for sharpening or peening a grass scythe.. it would have been pounded into a stump and used that way.. very cool relic.. I say throw it in a bucket of evaporust😎

Two complete buckles from Paul & Charlie, Bills two-piecer, and those coppers were a fine haul as far as relics and coins go. Too bad no silver but kudos to the Raven's QB for out-Russell-Wilson-ing Russell Wilson! Last week's half real button was a great find at that other location - congrats on that but I was too busy licking my football wounds!

Man I would love to detect with you guys you all click so well together. I 'm up in Mass and it's like pulling teeth finding people who will let you detect on the property they own. Who knows maybe some day we could meet up! I took up detecting about 6 yrs ago after I was diagnosed with cancer and it really helped me build my strength back up!

Can you imagine the coat that was on? The buckles are so special, and more so since they are complete. Great hunt guys. Beautiful houses! I dug that same knee buckle. It made it in the just dug section of American Digger Magazine in Jan/Feb of 2019, this year. I was at a 1726 home. congrats Paul on your buckles bud.

@@threefortytwo23 Makes me feel a bit fortunate that I was born in a country with such and ancient background, But it also makes me want to search the more modern sites I have, there is a great range of brilliant finds to be found out there and everything counts in my eyes, From Roman Silvers and Medieval Iconographic gold Rings to Modern Pendants and Silver coins All are a gain in my Eyes, Ive never once sold my finds. its not the aim of my game. I Just enjoy unearthing realy old items that havnt seen the light of day in years.
