    Hi Jeremy from the U.K - I’m a beginner and I initially ordered a 363 but changed the order to a 463. I figured the 463 would give me a little more headroom in time to come. I’ve had it for a couple of days now and I’m loving it! Your videos are helping me greatly, thank you very much for your great advice!

    Well, I got to play with a PSR EW410 at a local music store tonight. One of the things about it that I liked is that it was literally plug and play with my iPad: Plug the USB cable (camera kit...) between the iPad and the keyboard, and both MIDI *and* digital audio transfer between the tablet and the keyboard. I could start a synth on the tablet, and it would play cleanly through the '410's speakers (keyboard MIDI out, tablet audio back in), without needing an AUX cord.
    I also did some menu diving - which is quite a bit easier to do on this than my little Casio CTK since there are next/prev (function) buttons, vs tapping *the* function button and hoping you don't accidentally pass the setting you want - and it looks like it allows full MIDI integration with other devices, including external tempo synch. Also, there is a setting to use the sustain pedal as an arpeggiator latch. (but I had no pedal to try it)

    I'm quite shocked that on these keyboards, to change accompaniment volume and to transpose your sound halt step up you need to go to the menu and fiddle with buttons. Whereas in over 30 years old YAMAHA PSR27 I had Transpose UP and DOWN buttons on the panel. And I could change accompaniment volume with a slider.
    Anyway great review as always Jeremy. Your reviews are very unbiased!

  • @philippequenin6656
    @philippequenin6656 Před 4 lety +1

    The additions of the E463 are 10 more patterns for the Groove creator (previously named DJ styles), sampling, 15 new styles, 26 new arpeggios, 3 more reverb types and USB Audio playback and recording.
    About the control knobs, they have only gain 2 functions : reverb/chorus and DSP A/DSP B for the style (there was already cutoff/resonance for the style).
    About the groove creator, the climax section was already there in the E453, but it was called E (and has already a special "climax" function).
    Thee screen is the same on the 2 models, but was blue and darker on the E453.
    But nobody speak about this : as Yamaha has adapted the E453 case for the E463, le E463 has lost some fonctions :
    - lessons and chord dictionnary, and this is strange for a PSR-Exxx because this serie is focused on learning music.
    - music database : it was a cool way to find some nice variations of the internal sounds...
    So if you are not in EDM, don't throw away your E453 for a E463...

    Great job on all your reviews. I''m still trying to decide between E463 and Ew410 and have to confess those 12 watt speakers seem to be pulling at me. I see the similarities and like the portability of the 463 and also the lower price, but I'm still wondering how much better the sound is on the EW410. I mean could you tell much difference in a small church or auditorium? And if you use an amp, wouldn't that make the 12 watt speakers not that important? Just asking, keep up good work.

    • @JeremySee
      @JeremySee  Před 5 lety +2

      The piano sample on EW410 is much better. If you primarily use the piano patch, do get the EW410. For church, you will definitely have to get the sounds through an amp. 😉

    Hi Jeremy, very useful video once again. 😎
    A few comments: on my PSR E433, the DJ patterns have actually already 5 sections, named A, B, C, D and E. So I guess that the new « Musical Climax » section is simply replacing the old « E » section.
    As for the USB digital audio interface, the PSR E453 already has it (see the specs here: europe.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/portable_keyboards/psr-e453/specs.html). Incredibly, there is NO such USB digital audio interface on the Genos !!!
    What the PSR E453 does NOT have is the ability to record audio onto an USB stick, which I agree, is really a great feature (I have it on my DGX 650 and it is really convenient).
    The new styles of the PSR E463 and new patterns are also a nice addition because it broadens the types of music you can play on the keyboard.
    And the fact that you can apply the effects to the styles and patterns and not just to the sounds is really great for EDM music.
    It would be nice if, in a future video, you would show us how you use the USB stick recording feature to record the sound and synchronise it with a CZcams video. Thanks.
