Francisco Family Reunion: A Tribute to Our Grandparents
This video is a precious memory of our Francisco family reunion that took place almost 10 years ago. It was the last time our beloved grandmother Juanita Francisco and a few of our dear cousins attended a reunion; they passed away or went missing shortly after. Our grandfather Lawrance Mackey Francisco, who died a year before, was the pillars of our family. Pastor Mackey Francisco was the second to the youngest Child of Zedore and Gurtrude Francisco, who started the tradition of having family reunions during Thanksgiving and then Memorial Day weekend. This tradition has been going on for almost 60 years, and we have never missed a reunion, even during the plandemic (we used video chat for two years).
We made this video in 2015 to raise funds for our grandmother’s care, and we are so grateful for your support. You can see how happy she was to see us all together, celebrating our family bond. She was also very proud of me for filming and taking photos of the reunion, while having the pleasure of wheeling her around. She was a woman of faith, and she reminded us to praise God for our blessings. Unfortunately, I had to cut that part out of the video due to copyright issues, but I can send you the full version and the digital copies of the photos.
We are also working on a film project called ‘Send the power down’, which is about the life and legacy of the Francisco family.
