The film aims to raise awareness and inspire action against domestic violence, which affects people of all genders and sexual orientations. One of the reasons why people wear purple in October is to show support for survivors and victims of domestic violence. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The color purple symbolizes spirit on the rainbow flag, and it also represents courage, survival, honor, and dedication to ending violence. October 20 is Spirit Day, an annual LGBTQ+ awareness day that focuses on supporting LGBTQ+ youth and speaking out against bullying.
