One year after the events of the Jurassic Park, John Hammond wants to bring Jurassic Park back and he sends Dr. Alan Grant to aid a team of heavy armed men down to the former park to restore order. Meanwhile, Biosyn Corp has sent men down the former park so the company can gain control of the park for themselves.
I played on hard to get extra bonus level -

I forgot how fantastic the music and sound were. Holy crap.
Brought me right back to childhood.
I never noticed that as a kid. Upon rewatching -- it's obvious they put a lot of effort into it.
Dude that cutscene at the beginning is sick you have to admit.
That's because you see how little effort many other games spent, and now we can appreciate it more
The introduction looks like something you would see in a Sega CD or Turbo CD game. Very impressive to put voice acting on the cartridge.
Seemed super cheesy to me 😅
InstaBlaster.
Yes
Looks cheesy but still its a great technical succes for the SNES
@@StarkSpider24 It would've been impressive to kids during that era. I wanted & got me a copy of Clayfighter as a kid simply because it had a fully voiced theme song. Game was garbage.
One of the hardest games I've ever played!
There's no doubt about that! I was so frustrated I threw the game out the window. 😡
I was really impressed to hear a SNES game with voice acting, and voice acting you can understand and is not some jumbled sound mess.
They actually tried with this game and you could tell. Just a shame it's tough as nails.
Yeah, much better than, say, the NES version of Bad Dudes lol
Parodius 3 SNES the Best
This game was ahead of its time, that's for sure. Voice acting was next to unheard of back in that time for video games. These days it's commonplace to have some voice clips as well as some fully voiced scenes. Depends on the game.
19:51 RIP, driver! Thanks for save us!
And then the player’s character just looks at his phone stoically like nothing happened lol
The musical fidelity seems almost too good for an SNES game, doesn't it?
no.
Mm an seine 3k3 ok we I enrich thfnrnrn4 o2kenem4 en rnrnrnrmr..r.e.e.emekor4kokjjkkkknoll9a ok ft 9 O UH rliayueujeueua4ya4y4uau474la

I see your point about jjkkkknoll9a and eujeueua, but a lot of SNES soundtracks are... tootling? (not sure what the right word is) This one is distinctly not of that kind.
Yeah, the instrument sounds are really good, and quite atmospheric albeit minimalistic.
The sprites look nice too, although the backgrounds are a bit boring.
@Sunflower 101 r/ihadastroke
This game was f*cking impossible
Not really, I was a kid when I played this and passed it.
It’s challenging but easier with 2 player co-op if you both know what you are doing.
For a game based on a book/movie, this was pretty good. I loved this game and I thought the graphics were incredible at the time. The Waterworld game was good as well.
I loved this game but HATED the enemy respawn. They literally came right back if you walked a little bit to the left or right. Aside from that, it was a fun challenging game.
From the looks of things, I think it would have made a lot more sense, if enemies only re-spawned when players use non-lethal weapons on them.
Fond memories playing this as a kid with my cousin. He used to throw the controller against the wall everytime he died lol
They put Voice acting on a cartridge?
Ocean was pulling out the feckin' stops.
"Billy and the Cloneasaurus: The Game"
Pretty fucking much.
Such a hard game... With many childhood memories!
Loved the hell out of this game when I was a boy; never was able to beat it until I was in high school though. I especially loved the soundtrack
This was one of my favorite games for SNES. The soundtrack has always stuck with me.
The second level is scary with that music , that darkness , and that ambiance too ! 😰
Can we appreciate the GORGEOUS T-Rex design? It is a shame it only appears in one mission.
probably the best use of audio samples of any SNES game
And the game even supports Dolby Surround sound too.
@@inceptionalyes, although a very basic implementation of surround sound, but impressive nonetheless
@@djmhyde I haven't actually heard it in-game, so not sure what it sounds like to be honest. But still cool that a 16-bit console even had such a feature. I do recall surround sound in general on my old Pro Logic TV was just brilliant, and no modern TV I've owned [all without surround sound in any form] even comes close to being as cool and immersive. So I'd take surround sound even in a basic form. Of course, I'd need to have a TV setup that can even let me appriciate it mind you, which I currently don't.
@@inceptional cool, i have a basic Dolby Atmos setup (5.1.2 with discrete speakers) and i like retrogames, conecting my SNES into my AV receiver i can experience the surround effect of these games using the Pro Logic processor, most of the time the surround effects of SNES games are on the soundtrack, and in some cases are ambiental noises (like in Star Ocean, very nice game btw) unfortunately none of the games i played have effects that are typical of surround sound, like a plane going from rear to front etc, that's why they are basic in my opinion, but for sure is absolutely impressive a console from 1991 be able of do this, especially considering that game consoles at this time were considered just toys, not media devices like today, the Sega Mega Drivre(or Genesis if you're from USA) do not have any surround capabilities due a hardware limitation, making the SNES even more impressive
This game is amazing, many people said it was boring when we were children, but now I realize its quality.
Oohh the memories my sister and I played this game every day after school
: D
nostalgia..
Damn does this ever look good!
20+ years later I came looking for a playthrough of this game just so I could hear the blockade music once again!
Yes... sadly is just played on that level... they should used it in another one at least... near end
Great game and great run - full of close ones!
It was so good to listen to the soundtrack again and see the guy's movements with the rifle and bandolier. Good times, we should have a new game in a squad style like Spec Ops: Hard Line.
A thanks for this videos and of course, the soundtrack is amazing. 90s = The golden age of video games.
My favorite Snes Game. Jurassic Park games were great!!!
Most difficult game i've played.
Arnold Schwarzenegger at 34:45 with the flamethrower lmao😂😂😂
19:08 This is actually a really impressive scene when you think about it: Three fully overlapping parallax background layers, a proper overlaid HUD a large jeep, a large T-Rex that's really nicely animated, great audio with Dolby Surround support, and all running at a nice steady framerate too. And that scene is also playable with 2 players too. :)
Never even knew this game existed until I saw it in one of the playlists on the "World of Longplays" channel. Anyone beside me think that "Biosyn" is the company that paid off Dennis Nedry to steal the embryos from Jurassic Park in the first movie.
Yes. The company was in the novel, which came out in 1990.
@@hoffhammer Yeah, but i don't think neither InGen nor Biosyn have an army at disposal.
@@markosofranic3905 Biosyn hired mercenaries. And Ingen did in a way have its own army but made of mercs and hunters and private contractors...as seen in Lost World and Jurassic World
from the looks of the animation, Biosyn were responsible for stealing the Wand of Gamelon and the Faces of Evil
Judy Hopps Golly!
alien 3 style game
This opening is still amazing, considering it's running on a snes!
For some reason I find this Jurassic Park game very relaxing with its music
I never got far in this game at all. I got about as far as the third or fourth Raptor before I died.
I thought I only remembered it that way cause I was a kid. Upon rewatch, I see it's a pretty difficult game, even for an adult. Same way with other movie franchise platformers of the era -- Lion King and Toy Story come to mind -- no savepoints either.
I never made it passed the first level yet I used to play this game often.
This is probably the most fitting sequel the first movie ever got.
I also rather liked the first PC game by Ocean but that is not really a sequel.
Jurassic Park and a lot of movie tie in games for that matter have been rather hit and miss even to this day, but it was quite worse back on the console back then because it was often just an excuse to make a themed platform game that did not even play as well as this title did.
AVGN had a problem with the hidden pathway choices.
He's a noob
Ese juego esta oficialmente agregado a mi lista de juegos snes favorito, el juego es muy bueno y la musica y los sonidos de fondo ufff 😍
Imagine having to do all this with just two lives, this game is absurdly difficult
honestly this game is amazing it's kind of like Contra Jurassic Park shooter one part Contra another part dinosaur shooter it is amazing this should win against Jurassic Park Warpath hey guys this game has two freaking players
I remember dismissing this game when I was younger for not being JP canon, but playing it years later I have to say it's one of the better JP games and really pushed the systems graphics and sounds it's a great game
Meh, it is understandable regarding the JP canon. But Jurassic Park The Lost World despite being an okay movie did not reserve itself very well for a game while this game set after the first movie could do its own thing.
It is also a pretty fun action-adventure mission type game, and as you said the graphics are really nice for a SNES game.
Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues was originally scheduled for release in December 1994, but was ultimately released in January 1995.
@Papa Wuise LOL
Sounds like the same (or similar) samples used in the Unreal soundtrack... never noticed that until now... Nifty!
this game was so damn hard XD
La gente se impresiona por las voces del juego pero también tuvo voces Parodius 3
The T-rex has human legs. Do you even anatomy?
I think this is based on the book. Dinosaur human hybrids. But Im not that far in the game so I'll get back to ya later.
Back to ya: No...its just jank. But I like its bite animation.
Scared the shit outta me when I rented this as a kid lol. Also way too difficult for me then
Very unsatisfying ending lol after all the weeks of playing since there was no save feature, all we got was “the end”.
What are you talking about? This game has a save feature. The first JP on Snes didn't.
We grinded so hard as kids to beat this game on hard mode and were pissed at that lol
Damn' the T-rex and triceratops are though 😱
loved this game as a kid, could never figure out the second level than I did lol
Question: *HOW* did you switch from your lethal weapon to your non-lethal weapon? I could never figure out how to do that when I played this game.
R or L
One of the very few games on SNES to support Dolby Surround. Others I believe were JP1, Super Turrican, and Super Turrican 2
How is the surround sound
17:18 No wonder they're extinct :P
35:08 dat cheese tho
With how hard this game is -- I'll allow it lol
*teleports behind you*
Remember that part in Jurassic Park where some guy machine gunned the shit out of a T-rex...
No, they never shot a dinossaur in the movies.
Jogo inesquecível.
vdd kkkk
The music alone is worth playing this game.
on t-rex level. at the end if you hang on the rope for long enough, it magically levitates and falls in the ditch. I dont know what my reasoning was as a kid to just sit there.
they should have used this engine to make a Doom game in this style, with the Doom marine fighting the monsters but side view
I could had never passed the Blockade Level as a kid, even with this video as an adult it's hard.
The final battle is a helicopter chase. I hope Jurassic World: Dominion ends with something like that.
i kinda really did liked the classic snes game back then big time
I remember this game, it was pretty cool.
It was a really good game, but damn it was hard
This game is so damn much better than the actual Jurassic Park 2 we got, it's kind of sad.
+kayokango eh idk. still least the second movie raptors looked badass with the tiger stripes?
I like to think this Grant was ruined ala Malcolm and said "Fuck it!"
Hail to the king baby
The flamethrower machine gun boss has something odd... makes my brain twitch.
I got the the cliff level and that was it. That's as far as I've ever gotten. I need to pick myself up a copy of this and a SNES console.
The end...
That's what we get for the ending.
Is this on the snes classic
This should be on steam
The fucking raptors in the game!
El juego más dificil de todo Snes o uno de los más dificiles
Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition and The Lost World on the Genesis both smoke this game.
Great music
Amazing SNES games!
Simply the best
So in this game you play as Alan Grant and all the sudden he became a mercenary??
working hard
I knew I didn’t imagine it
This is how a longplay should be. Where the player is good, but not *too* good, know what I mean?
It's a fine line, but this guy managed to walk it just right. They were good enough to not need to repeat any level, but still have a number of close calls. Amazing.
According to wikipedia, you control Dr. Alan Grant which is wierd, though bad ass!. I guess the game was inspired from him using that Gun (Shotgun? from the Jurassic Park Movie.
Какая та эта игра слишком хардкорная местами. Всю прелесть игры убивает. А прыжки от каждого динозавра это вообще нечто о_0
this game works ok as a Jurassic Park game... it's too bad Ocean didn't get The Terminator license, as this would've worked so much better as a Terminator game.
This game looks like it was made with the exact same engine as the aliens 3 game on snes and sega genesis.
This is surprising similar to Alien 3 the game I think.
On the snes
Maybe they used the same engine. it looks very similar.
19:51
Is the car driver ok?
I doubt it.
Anyone else used to hang on the vine by the rex and shoot it til it fell in the pit?
Juegaso
Eu tinha desconforto ao jogar essr jogo, ficava mt tenso... sem contar o quão dificil era
I think this was way better than jurassic park for the snes. Sad that this game is underrated. Also i know this game was also released with the snes, but i perfer this over the one before it. I personally didn’t like the art style and gameplay of that game and i think the nes/gameboy port was better . And the sprites for the dinos don’t look bad either (well maybe except the rex). But this is MY OPINION. If you disagree, good for you. To each their own opinion. Also forgot to mention that the sega genesis/mega drive port was better as well. My childhood defined in that game alone
Of course Ocean immitated the Sega's Jurassic Park Rampage Edition, 'cause their first game have nothing to do with Mega Drive port, but second it is almost a copy!
Looks like a much better game than the original game on Super Nintendo
It should!! This was part 2: the chaos continues.
This was nowhere near as good as the original. Collecting ID cards, completing missions, finding eggs.
Universal Studios
Contrassic Park: Robo-Dinosaurian Chaos
The best JP game in my opinion.
caimbus what about the first jurassic park game for the super nintendo? You think that one is good too with alan grant as the game character
Prefer rampage edition xd
yoo this games is stupid hard even with a homie.
Jurassic Park had Meganeuras?
any idea what the rate of fire is for the tazer is
It’s very slow, if I recall, it’s a cattle prod and It’s the only weapon but automatic. If u held the firing button, it would charge into a big bolt..... other than that, it shoots as fast as u can press the button
