- Removal and installation of a lower control arm (LCA) on a 4th gen 4runner. This applies to all 03+ 4runners and FJ's.
I had rebuilt my original LCA's with MOOG bushings and ball joints a year ago. I had been hearing a really bad creaking sound, and it turns out the bushings were rotating in the LCA. I bit the bullet and replaced the whole arms with OEM.

Best to just replace it all with OEM if you’re doing the bushings or a ball joint. Anti-seize is your friend here and a good torque wrench
yes but that truck is brand new for real i never see replace a control arm in a toyota without cutting the bolts 😁
Well, that was easy....
(Actually doing the same job myself right now but just the bushings and not the full arm replacement.... finding it hard to get the bushing out of the arm -otherwise, finding the job pretty straight forward, as you demonstrate!

If I take the lower control arm off, does this make replacing the coilover easy too? I'm plannign on replacing both the coilover and lower control arm

Why do you think Toyotas last so long?? Put Chinese cheap parts on and see how reliable it is lol
